Oh my goodness, I just could not love these people more…read more Situation: I live in Missouri. Two older people I dearly love live in Prescott and are recovering from the flu. One just out of the hospital. I am tormented thinking about their lack of family in Prescott. If I were there, I would be cooking for them, shopping for them, caring for them. But I'm in Missouri. I looked at the available shopping/errand services but they just didn't feel right. I kept searching and came across an article about Golden Years Concierge Services. Could they help? Fingers crossed! I called this morning and spoke to Liz. I explained my anguish and asked if she could help. In less than an hour, she had it all worked out. I had very specific items -- chicken noodle soup from Costco, ready made meatloaf, mashed potatoes, bacon, soup, salad, fresh flowers from Trader Joe's. And French bread. After all, one must be civilized especially when ill! I gave her an amount to spend on groceries and asked her fee to get all this done-- today please?? Her fee was incredibly reasonable and yes, it would be done today. A couple hours later I got a call from my astonished friends. They were beyond surprised and so grateful for the groceries. They recited the list of items delivered and it was to the letter of what I'd asked for. All for less than what I had offered to spend. They completely trusted me with the situation and I completely trusted them. I am forever a fan. They are lovely people. I can not recommend a business more highly than I do Golden Years Concierge Services.

I had contact with about a dozen of these folks throughout the steps required for my move, and every one of them was polite and considerate. From the beginning, Maria coordinated things, and proved herself to be exceptional to work with. She surely had her hands full with me and my glitches, but was always professional and took the load off of me more than once. Excellent communication at all times. The move itself went smoothly, and they handled my things well on both ends. That included my grandfather's grandfather clock, which was even perfectly leveled for me after it was unloaded (first time in the dozen or so times that I've had the clock moved that leveling has even been offered). All the way through, they were quick and efficient, and it was a pleasure to hear and see them work together - an easy comraderie, and learned expectation of how each will move, regardless of which ones are on the job. Even the crew of 8 people that were present for one of the steps worked together quickly and flawlessly. During the long haul out of state, one ancient wooden item came apart at a couple of very old glue seams - not at all the fault of the movers - just vibrations. I hadn't asked for any special handling, and after looking at it in my home for decades, was not the least bit upset about it coming apart at the seams. But I was offered a partial refund anyway. No thanks; no need for that. However, I did sincerely appreciate the offer. Just another example of the integrity of this outfit. To be trusted. These people know exactly how to handle every step of the job from the first phone call through the follow up call after the move. Highly recommend!

However, we needed a realtor who is licensed in AZ. to represent us in purchasing property in Flagstaff. We purchased 2 homes and listed the first home we purchased. The third transaction was in August 2025. It was a listing to sell the first home we bought. After 6 months we were not happy with their service. We wanted to cancel our listing with them. Shane Randall and Marie Dagenais said we would have to pay them $1000 to cover their expenses related to that listing. We had never heard of anything like that happening before. They had already made in excess of $50,000 in commissions from the first two purchase transactions. As we felt it was just Shane Randall and Marie Dagenais being greedy. This was so out of the norm of how realtors did business, we thought their broker would cancel the listing without the $1,000 fee. When we contacted their broker, Bret Lamberson, at Russ Lyon Sotheby's International Realty, he was just as greedy as them and said we would have to pay the $1,000 in order to cancel the listing. We paid the $1000 to move on. We really needed to sell the first property and wanted to get a better agency to handle it. On all of our dealings with them, we were very disappointed with their lack of service. We always had to review the paperwork for accuracy and had little contact from them. We also discovered, after the fact, that upon their recommendations we had overpaid for both properties, as well as overpricing the property being sold to sell quickly. We hired a new realtor. He is excellent. He was shocked we were told we would have to pay $1000 to cancel the listing. Just remember that just because a realty office uses Sotheby's, in their name, which might make you think it's a luxury agency, it is just a franchise and what you get depends entirely upon the broker and realtors.

I repeatedly felt bullied and antagonized by them. I did not feel like I was ever listened to or that my opinions and wishes were valued. At one point, I was contacted by the title agent, who informed me that Shane and Marie had made a mistake on some paperwork and wanted an additional 1% total compensation. The proceeds of this sale were to benefit my late brother's three orphaned children, so I obviously was not okay with this change. I told the title agent no and called Shane and Marie to sort it out. During this phone call, I had to raise my voice to be heard. They stuck to the original compensation agreement at the end of this transaction, but I should never have been put in this position. This is one of many examples where I felt bullied and mistreated by Shane and Marie. When things finally came to a head, we got their broker, Brett Lmaberson, involved in releasing us from our contract. Shane and Marie wanted us to sign a Nondisclosure and nondisparagement clause as terms of termination. Brett Lamberson laughed in my face while explaining why we wouldn't agree to those terms. Overall, my experience with Sotheby's, Shane, and Marie was awful. Shane and Marie made an already very challenging time in my life even more stressful, frustrating, and painful. I would not recommend them to anyone.
