I called Cool Zone because they were authorized to perform warranty repairs on my ac system. The tech found that the compressor had failed and needed to be replaced. He confirmed the unit was still under a parts warranty so my cost would be the labor and new freon that was recommended. He quoted $3,300 for 4 hours of labor! Then said if i purchased a maintenance plan that covered 2 visits for both of my units it would be cheaper at just under $3,100. What? That doesn't make sense. You Buy a service plan and pay less ?!! I expect that the "maintenance" is not intended to take care of the units but to give them 2 more opportunities to overcharge for additional services. I was told they would check availability of the compressor and his office would call me the next day. I was charged a $89 diagnostic fee. I told him his office told me the fee would be waived for repairs over $300. It was obvious to me that he had no intention of sharing this policy with me and said he would discount the repair bill after the work was done. I heard nothing more from them. It has been 2 days. After looking into his price I was told by 2 different companies that the quote was at the high end of the range for a unit that was NOT under warranty. I did not share this quote with either of these companies until after they priced the repair. Both told me the same thing and both quotes were competitive. A different factory authorized business is repairing the unit including line set cleaning and new refrigerant for $1,800. This is a predatory business overcharging people that are stuck in the AZ heat with a broken ac unit. They say a sucker is born every minute. Dont be a sucker! Stay away.

He himself came out and provided a bid for the right sized unit needed for my house. He gave three bids for me. One was for if I wanted to change my old, large ducts for a modern smaller one for better air flow and my AC Unit along with an extra vent. One for the AC and the extra vent. And One just for the AC. I picked the middle option and a few days later it was installed and done. The total cost was $5,000 less than the lowest bid from the competitor. Ever since then (two years ago) they have given me top notch care. I called the number I thought was the office and David answered. I found out he gave me his personal Cell. I felt bad because it was late at night on a Saturday. He was perfectly fine and he stated he would get this problem resolved on Monday. He kept his word. I highly recommend this HVAC Professional Company 100%. I have never been disappointed and my house stays at the right temp daily.

I went onto Yelp to see if I could find contact information for a company I had used five years before when I owned a house only to find they had been taken over by another company I didn't know. I was resigned to getting a response in the morning until lo and behold my phone rang with caller ID showing Ideal Air Conditioning. It was 9pm. I couldn't believe it! And it was an actual person on the line when I picked up. I can't remember her name but she was empathetic and helpful. Before I knew it she had scheduled a service person to come in the morning between 8 and noon. What a relief! The service person got to my condo around 9:30 just before I had to head to work so I left my credit card info with her and entrusted my roommate to oversee the repairs. By 11am I got a call at work informing me that the AC was up and running again with the repair costing me just over $1500, which included a $300 service plan that I thought made sense and was a good idea for continued maintenance. The refund that was given was around $200... it should have been closer to $400 for all of the reasons and evidence outlined in my above review (that you conveniently did not address).
