I tried AZ Body therapy for the first time today and had a wonderful experience. Nicole was my therapist and I visited for a 60 minute Swedish massage. Nicole was on time, super-sweet and had a great energy about her. She asked several questions to help her customize my session. It was my first massage in over a year due to COVID and I had a lot of tightness and built up tension. I have to say that Nicole gave me one of the best massages I have had in a long while. I feels worlds better after just the one session. Her pressure was perfect and she made the absolute most out of the session. Most amazing massages ever! I have had dozens of massages over the years at resorts, spas, etc and none of them compare to the work that Mariya does!! I have a troublesome knee which throws off my walk. That causes the muscles in my hip, back and neck to hurt. I was desperate for some relief and took the only opening Nicole had left that day. Since the time slot was 1/2 hour before closing I was not able to schedule an hour massage as I had hoped for. But that was my choice. I could have gone the next day for an hour session. What I am saying is that even a half hour session was beneficial. Nicole did a great job, worked on the worst spots and gave me a full 30 minutes. The business was clean and well organized. I like the online appt setting especially since I set up about 3AM for next day at 4PM. I lost my decade-long very good deep muscle therapist due to her serious medical issues. It is very hard to find my type of LMT that can do really deep work on neck and shoulders and who really knows what she is doing. From the reviews booked appt with Nicole.... I have now found by deep muscle gal to replace old (after trying many others that were not as good). She is witty, sharp, really knows muscles and did an excellent job on my chronically tight neck and shoulders. Every month or so I get terrible headaches that meds won't fully get rid of. I get quick adjustment from a Chiro I've used for a decade who is very good and try and combine with good deep muscle massage. The tight muscles pull on spine and pinch nerves resulting in headaches. Almost need a sludge hammer to loosen up - and around some fatty tissue. Nicole is a keeper - about as good as my long time prior gal vs most others that I have tried. read more

I got a back massage here for the first time today. Amla did my massage and it was OK not bad. I've had better massages but the massage wasn't terrible! The problem I had with this place is that Amla only spent 23 minutes on my massage when I paid for a 30 minute massage. I think that is quite unprofessional. It was my first time here so I was keeping track of the time. I asked her about it and she said that "yeah sometimes the massage can be anywhere from 25-30 minutes." I wish they told me that earlier! I'm definitely going to a place that respects my money and time next time! read more

I have been here quite a few times. But the last time we be the very last. I tried someone new and she gave me a 20 minute massage. I made a comment about the length and she laughed it off. Then charged me for the entire 30 minutes. I sent in a review to their website hoping for a response. Partial refund. Credit toward another service. But nothing. I was very disappointed in this. Terrible - went in for a 90 minute massage due to lower back and hip pain radiating down my legs. I explained to the theopist and that this is where I wanted her to focus. Well after 45 minutes of her focusing on my heck, upper back and shoulders I asked her to stop because my hips and back were hurting worse. Seemed like the therapist had her own agenda and didn't care what I asked her to focus upon. Have been here before and the experience was good but doubt that I will be coming back. read more

Sydney and Rick are both excellent therapists. They both have an intimate understanding of the human body and are very intuitive. I always leave feeling like all the problem areas on my body that needed attention were adequately addressed. I have always preferred male therapists because they are stronger and I know that my deep tissue massages will be just that. However, Sydney is as strong as any male massage therapist I ever seen and I have been to a lot of different therapists in the 25 years that I have been getting massages. What I love best about AZ Body Therapy is knowing if one or the other of them is not available, I have an equally qualified backup that I can go see. That fact that their office is 5 minutes away from my house is just icing on the cake! read more

I have been in to see Niki on two separate occasions, and she was AWESOME! She is nationally certified and knows her stuff. I'm really surprised how many 5-star reviews this place got, and maybe I'm just the one random one to have had a bad experience. I booked an appointment for a massage with Nicole for the purposes of relaxing. When I got there, she must have been the only person on site because the door was locked and there was nobody in the lobby (this was midday). I had arrived 5-10 minutes early for the appointment and was forced to stand outside on a day that was over 100 degrees. When I actually got to have the massage, Nicole talked NONSTOP the entire time. She asked me insanely personal and unprofessional questions. I was so uncomfortable and distracted by her talking that I honestly could not even tell you if the massage was good or not. I couldn't focus on what was happening and I left feeling frazzled when my goal was to relax. The reason I didn't give it only one star is because the massage room and office were pretty decent; the service prices are very low; and I did appreciate that she interviewed me beforehand to see if I had any issues that needed attention. It's sad that this place is so affordable yet I would never go back there ever again because of how miserable an experience I had. read more

I am a dentist, and I moved from Phoenix to Oklahoma back in August. Getting deep tissue massages at AZ Body Therapy with Nicole is one of the things I miss most about Phoenix. With my job I put lots of stress on my upper back so I usually get massages every 2 weeks or so. Since leaving AZ, I have been to several masseuses, but I have yet to find someone who is as gifted at finding and relieving muscle knots as Nicole. I just received a massage from Alma here and had the same experience as another poster had a couple weeks before with whichever therapist he had (not sure if it was the same therapist). She had her own agenda and completely ignored the areas that I asked her to focus on. This therapist obviously needs more training and to learn where the muscles are and how to properly work them. She put way more pressure on my bones and tendons than she did my actual muscles. I am a massage therapist and was in desperate need of arms/hands work and asked for rotator and piriformis work too. She spent maybe 30 seconds on the back of each arm and hand while I was face down and no time spent on them after that. There are 4 muscles that comprise the rotator cuff, she only worked one of those, supraspinatus - leaving out Teres, infraspinatus, and subscapula. When she "worked" glutes, she dragged her fist from near sacrum and pulled the muscle laterally. Never have them done that way and it didn't feel good, but not much of the massage did (I kept hoping it would get better). Didn't even touch piriformis. When she had me face down she spent most of the time with her elbows in my sacral area. I asked to speak to a manager and she said one wasn't available. So I told her that I was disappointed that she didn't work on any part of the focus areas I asked her to. She gave me an apology, however insincere. She said she could give me a discout, I said that they had my number and her manager could call me when she was available. I went in and did not get the service requested, I didn't feel responsible for payment with that being the case. I was hoping to find a regular therapist closer to my home when trading at work isn't possible. The search continues. *Almost forgot to add that the place was cold and they only use top sheets, no bath sheets or blankets. The other people there didn't care about the noise level either. Not a very relaxing atmosphere. read more
