They were also positioned in bad locations to make it hard to get a visual on. We were given a magnifying glass when we asked but it was still too hard to make out the words They were good about putting the words on the screen after a while but it would be better if they had the visuals where you didn't need this help. You should be mindful of the number of attendees Even though the capacity allows for more the Budapest express was very very tight with 5 people. We were tripping over each other. We only had 3 in the mansion murder and that was good (I think it would be fine with 4 in it ). We experienced a minor mix up with open times but the management was quick to remedy the situation. I would definitely do another room with this company.

The only issue was that several of the mechanisms that were supposed to be triggered when we solved a puzzle did not work properly, resulting in some confusion and lost time. The employees were good about giving hints to make up for the resulting confusion, but it really broke the flow of the room at times. Overall, we had fun anyway and would be happy to try another room!

This place is owned/attached to Wichita State University, and this location is the training base of the university's rowing team. The people who work here have a lot of experience with the equipment they're renting, from my experience. I visited on a sunny Wichita day to rent a kayak to paddle on the Arkansas River. I'm not the most enthusiastic kayaker, to be honest. In fact, I almost backed out of this little adventure. But the kind people at Boats and Bikes made sure I was safe and secure in my vessel. They even offered to give me a thingie to put my phone in so it wouldn't end up at the bottom of the river. (Oh wow! I didn't even think about my phone getting wet, let alone ending up at the bottom of a murky body of water. Good looking out.) The river was calm the day that I visited, though, so I didn't feel like my phone was in danger at all. I had a nice little paddle on the lake. It was fun. From the Boats and Bikes livery, you can paddle by Exploration Place and to the Keeper of the Plains monument. At the end of the river excursion, they gave me a bottle of water, which was nice. One thing to keep in mind is that the parking for this place is a little ways away from the actual location. It's a little confusing, actually. You might need to call and confirm where to park.

If you're big into mixed drinks this is your place. This is mine and my husband's favorite date…read morespot. We love getting a good cocktail and listening to live music. Dockum has both great cocktails, and great entertainment. I really like the atmosphere here every single time. It's dim, it's romantic, it's lively. Our waitress every time has been the same girl and she's fabulous and attentive. Her name is Elvia, shoutout to her! We have our favorite drinks here, but always try something new each time. Never had a bad drink here. Our favorites are: The Last Word, Dizzy Dame, Cinder and Smoke. You can't go wrong with anything you order honestly. We could sit here for a few hours. It's also a speakeasy. It's under ground, you have to knock to get in. Overall it's just a cool vibe for something downtown in Wichita. It is my favorite spot to go. If you are in town visiting or a local, I recommend this place 1000%.

When our waitress came by, we told her it was our first visit and that we needed a little time with the menu. We ordered drinks, but they came out at odd times--two arrived quickly, while the other two took noticeably longer. My husband ordered a Bijou, which is a unique cocktail, and it seemed to take a while for the bar to figure out how to make it. Still, the drinks were good once they arrived. For food, we tried the burnt ends and the JoJos. The JoJos were excellent--crispy and flavorful--but the burnt ends were disappointing, served a bit cold and lacking in flavor. Things really unraveled with our second round of drinks. Service slowed to a crawl, and we eventually learned that our waitress had been sent home by the manager even though the bar was packed on a Friday night. A young server, only two weeks into the job, was left to take over, and unfortunately, he had no idea what he was doing. Another waitress stopped by to help but admitted she usually works upstairs in the restaurant and didn't know the cocktail menu either. The shift in service quality from the first round of drinks to the second was very jarring. There was live music, but the sound system wasn't great, so it didn't add much to the atmosphere. We did order desserts from the upstairs restaurant, which were a nice finish, but by the end of the night it was clear the staff was overwhelmed. As we left, we even saw the manager outside looking exhausted, which made us feel bad for the whole team. Overall, while the drinks were solid and the JoJos worth trying, the experience was inconsistent and stressful. Maybe we just got caught up in an off night of drama, but I wouldn't recommend Dockum for more than one drink.
