Until a little boy noticed there were hundreds of treats on the ground along the fence line between the large dogs & small dogs. Literally the whole fence line. We tried to pick some up, but the boy & his family left as soon did I. Please people, dogs FIGHT over treats all the time with unfamiliar settings and strange dogs/people. I called the humane society and animal control, but neither cared. I'm not sure if it was malicious or stupid. Someone did it for a reason. So I will never return to this place, even if it's 5 minutes away. And I would NOT RECOMMEND taking your dogs either.

There was no shade for adults within the dog area unless you sat on the cement, but there was a set of tables with an overhang just outside of the park. We were very happy to find that there were several water stations and even a mini pool that we were able to sell for our pups to cool down in! The only thing that it's not therefore, was the fact that there was glass shards in the dirt areas from it being on a landfill. We just made sure to keep our pups in the grass area and didn't have any issues, though we did notice a lot of shards in the various dirt areas. This place was huge though with plenty of room in both the large and dog areas!

Another waitress stopped by to help but admitted she usually works upstairs in the restaurant and didn't know the cocktail menu either. The shift in service quality from the first round of drinks to the second was very jarring. There was live music, but the sound system wasn't great, so it didn't add much to the atmosphere. We did order desserts from the upstairs restaurant, which were a nice finish, but by the end of the night it was clear the staff was overwhelmed. As we left, we even saw the manager outside looking exhausted, which made us feel bad for the whole team. We try to check out a new place during each trip and wound up back at river city brewery. However! There was great live music coming from across the parking lot. Taking a closer look, we thought... cigar bar? Let's check it out. And I am glad we did! Mort's has such a great atmosphere! The girls working here are so cute, friendly and helpful! My partner is a cigar smoker but it was my first time. We opted for the Havana Honey, which was a smaller cigar. Our server got us all set up and that choice was pretty good! I now see the hype. They have a large drink menu but I stuck with a Michelob Ultra. We came back the next day and Sundays was $1 off drafts so we did the same thing again. The live music was great. Mort's has live music EVERY DAY! I love bars with live music and the fact that they have it every day is a reason we went back the next day. I can't wait for our next trip back to Wichita because we will definitely be heading to Mort's again!

Theres a massive mirror behind the bar and a mural covering an entire wall with a hip mustached fella holding a PBR can that doubles as the men's restroom door. The bartenders are friendly and have great personalities. The drink prices are definitely reasonable and they switch up the specials on occasion to keep things interesting. I feel like its difficult to review your favorite bar. It's so much more than just a bar. Every time I walk in I'm guaranteed to see a friend, either behind the bar or in a booth. It's been the spot where I celebrate the good times and recover from the bad times. I've seen some awesome bands there and had some amazing times with great people there.
