Made a reservation for the rage room. 3 rooms available. Once paid we got $25/each credit to spend on stuff they are selling to smash. Monday's there's a great discount if you want to buy something of theirs to smash, otherwise the items are sooo expensive ($100 a non-working printer!) $3-$6/cup. We were slotted for 20min but she told us to take our time. 6 cups, 2 vases, 1 coffee maker, 1 printer took us about 30min. She did say we could go grab (and pay) for more stuff. We were given a crowbar, sledge hammer, small framing hammers, and small pipes. The large overalls were already super shredded but the masks were great - definitely recommend full face covering. Also good shoes as your constantly walking through glass or even spilled printer ink! Overall a fun experience to try but not for everyone and more experience than expected. read more

Where do I start... first of all booked an appointment for 2:00pm and received confirmation email telling me to arrive 15 minutes early to fill out waiver. All good except for the fact they don't open the until 2:00pm! Filled out waiver and then was taken in a back room where I was informed that now I have to purchase items I want to break in their Rage room! They were charging $25 to just get in the door I was informed and then $3 for a ceramic mug! So I would have to pay another $24 to just break 8 mugs! Completely ridiculous! Most likely they picked up all those items out of the garbage for free! Sorry I don't pay to just get in the door of anywhere! I will say one good thing is that they refunded me my money! Only good thing! Don't waste your money or time! read more

Spent 8+ hours in the hospital, plus a costly dentist trip, and was in immense pain from a split open lip and broken tooth because Axe Monkeys does NOT provide adequate safety gear. A broken piece of plate flew into my face in the Rage Room, and now I am permanently scarred, plus will need a dental crown in the future which will cost me a lot more. Don't recommend this place at all when they don't care about the safety of their customers. read more

Came here with a group of friends a couple of weeks ago. We had a great time. First we got warmly welcome, the staff will walk you through their services and packages. After that we were took to the back where one of their stuff explained us the technique and how to have fun in a safely way. I heard Axe throwing is a good healing technique if you are heartbroken and/or trying to relief some stem out of you. You can bring your own stuff to play with (but the Axe, I think) or the also sell some good items if you are interested to try something different. Come and Try it out! Wow! What an awesome experience! The time flew by - I never expected to love throwing axes this much - I recommend booking 2 hours for sure! The RAGE ROOM is also a ton of fun - I didn't even know there was a place you could go to smash stuff. All in all, this is a perfect destination for a team event, family night (I hear they have a league night!), date night or even just to go blow off some steam after shopping at Kingsway..hahaha! read more

This was my first time actually throwing an axe instead of observing. Despite my stellar efforts, coordination and aim weren't my strong suit. I had a blast laughing and found this was a quite enjoyable activity. The stations are set up with enough room and the area is spacious. It is quite a novelty idea also to be able to bring old appliances and smash them up! Perfect way to release stress and have a great time. read more

(I'm not sure why this posts for San Fransisco...we're Edmontonians!) I bought a Groupon so I could bring my 16 year old son for a mom-son date. I figured it would be something new and different and I was right. There weren't many others there at 2:00 on a weekday so we each got our own lane. Cameron gave us the safety info, coached us on three different throwing techniques and then let us have at 'er! I'm 50-something and had a ball. My son thoroughly enjoyed it as well. The place is clean, well laid out, and interesting (you can throw wearing a viking helmet if you want!) My only suggestion would be to offer access to a water fountain or water cooler...you can work up a bit of a thirst if you throw steadily. Though it took a short while to get the hang of, soon we were hearing that satisfying thud of the blade imbedding itself in wood. :-) My son wasn't having much success at first but Cameron suggested he take a half step forward and, voila!, that was all he needed. We had tons of time to experiment with different throws over our two hour time slot and I was pretty impressed with how well we were doing by the end. Shortly before our time was up, each of us was given a Smash Box...a small cardboard box on a string that is stapled to the target. When your axe finds it's mark, you find out what your prize is. My son got a coupon for Axe Monkey sunglasses AND a decent coupon for Speeders ProKarts. I received a $150 coupon toward prescription glasses at an optical place. Impressive! Cameron and Andrew were super helpful and very professional. They made our afternoon a lot of fun. I have already decided that I have to bring my daughter on a date as well. Would definitely recommend if you would like to try something new. We both left feeling quite satisfied. It was well worth the price. read more
