I never knew corn could taste SO GOOD. I made my way to the Aww Shucks truck for lunch and it was worth every penny I spent and seconds of my time. First of all, the prices are a total blessing because it can be hard to find a good lunch for under $20. I tried the buffalo ranch corn and the lime really set it off. Hot, buttery, flavorful and beautiful to eat; no complaints! They even leave the husk on which makes a great handle while you eat. I also got the stuffed baked potato with parmesan garlic corn and at first I thought, "That's way too much corn!", but I was wrong. The parm and garlic flavors on top of that soft, fluffy potato hit the spot. There wasn't a drop of meat in this entire meal and I didn't miss it at all. It only took around 20 minutes for me to wait in line, order, and get my food. So it's an easy option if you work nearby. Everything was clean and organized and the staff was moving like a well oiled machine. I can't wait to go back to try more flavors and their new menu items like the red beans & sausage or greens.

A plant based, soulfood café with gourmet corn options!! We visited this green during our lunch break for a little something different. I usually visit the food truck, but the steam table was exactly what my friend was looking for. The service was great, and the atmosphere was fun and vibrant.

The food truck came to our office recently and I had been looking forward to give it a try. I chose the Skillet Corn Baked Potato with fresh cut off the cob corn, cream cheese, Parmesan, season & butter. The potato was huge and overfilled. Overall I liked it more than I expected. I was disappointed at the overall variety of the menu on the truck. There were a number of different seasoning/flavor options but it was all corn. I wish there had been other choices from the hot bar at the brick and mortar location. I realize not being able to offer the full menu but at least one of the plant based red beans and rice or spaghetti at least in limited quantities. Additionally they were unable to make change (because I was the "first person to pay with cash"). Would I eat it again, yes, but I hope there would be other options as well.

Was in Alabama for an event and was recommended this place. So we tracked down the food truck and found them at an event. Customer service was great. While we waited we were able to see how the corn was a cooked which was really cool!

So...I was minding my business and getting some Christmas shopping done. All of a sudden, I spy the Aww Shucks food truck. I (legally) whip my car into the gas station where they are parked and hop out with a burst of energy I didn't know I had. I told the lady, as smiled giddily, that I had been wanting to try them since I got my braces off recently. She said she hoped I enjoyed what I ordered. I don't remember the exact names but I bought the Buffalo Ranch one and a Cajun one. As soon as I got home, I sat down at my table and dived in. Y'all....I should be ashamed of how I tore up those cobs, but I'm not! This was LITERALLY the best corn I've ever had! I want to kick myself for not ordering more! The service and food are phenomenal! I'll definitely be a repeat customer. It's corn!!! Lol

Still a supporter of Aww Shucks. Great corn. I bought some in Tuscaloosa while shopping. People were lined up before they opened. Wow. They offer online ordering but make sure you place it early. TIP: Someone said you can place the order the night before. I wasn't able to place an online order due to the earlier times were taken. Was okay standing in line.... Weather was nice and I had no later plans. One thing I did notice was the price of the Garlic Herb Parmesan was listed as $6 on the sign but online price is $5. The employee did not honor the $5 price so I removed those from my order. Was buying some for my sister and nephew's to try.

Hands down some of the best corn I've had. Always fresh always scrumptious never disappointed. I always order the Mexican street corn. Never tried the others however I hear they are delicious! Customer service is always top notch! Small food truck that packs a big punch!! Bravo!

The Aww Shucks food truck was in Tuscaloosa today. Omg! The BEST corn ever. The flavors add just what the corn needs. Highly recommend. You can thank me after you try it.

I will readily admit, I don't get the food truck thing. I guess I'm old and don't like the idea of chasing a food truck based on the day. I was positively crestfallen to find that I couldn't go to the address-of-record any day of the week to get this awesome looking corn. I appreciate that Aww Shucks seems to have a pretty predictable pattern, though most of the locations are not anywhere near my normal travels. So I was super happy to find they'd be in Hoover one Sunday. After this, though, I might drive a little bit further to get some more but will be on the lookout for locations further south. I got a Mexican Street Corn on a whim, even though I had previously mentally decided on a different flavor. Also got a plain ear offered on a promo. They were so stinking good! Thought I would be able to save the plain one for another meal, but I finished the street corn and kept eating, using the plain ear to sop up the drippings from the street corn. So very good. Now I know why I saw people eating them right there as soon as they got back in their cars! When one of the guys came around to talk to people waiting for orders, he parted with, "Be sure to use the lime!" Would have passed on it, but tried it just because he said it. And he wasn't lying! Great combo!

I've been to this food truck several times... and I will have to admit they have done it. Every single time the food was outstanding, the customer service was outstanding and I was ever so pleased with the entire experience. Thanks guys keep up the excellent work. If you want any recommendations the Mexican Street Corn is king.

I jumped at the chance to try Aww Shucks when they were at Cahaba Brewing recently. I was extremely impressed with their friendly service and their amazing product. A simple product done right! The street corn flavors exploded in my mouth! I had the creamy lemon pepper and garlic parmesan flavors, both were equally delicious..... VERY SaTISFYING! Aww Shucks offers a variety of street corn flavors and I can't wait to try more! They definitely have something for everyone.

Aww Shucks makes the BEST Mexican street corn, hands down. I can't eat it in public because it's messy and I just dive in and get it all over my face - and I don't even care because it's soooo good. Try it when you get a chance - at their brick and mortar location or the food truck and be sure to squeeze the lime!

I finally got to try this place and wow did it exceed expectations. Be prepared to wait in line and wait on your order since they fire roast the corn on site. The Garlic Parmesan was full of flavor and was my favorite out of all of the ones I tried. All of the staff were extremely friendly and kind. I look forward to visiting again and trying new flavors!

Great corn on the cob. Mine was like the second from the left. Glad they are now on Yelp so I can give them Props.

I also learned they've made the exciting move from being a food truck to their own brick-and-mortar location. Congratulations on such a wonderful milestone! I ordered the quesabirria tacos with a side of chips (the chips don't come with the meal). The tacos are served with consommé and a side of refried black beans. Everything was DELICIOUS! The food was fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. I'd give the quesabirria a 9.7/10. The only thing that would have made it even better for me would have been a little crispy cheese crunch. The salsa, which I had to request, was a bit spicier than I prefer. But then again, my son recently informed me that I'm a spice wimp... or something to that effect. So take that review for what it's worth! Not only was the food fantastic, but the service was friendly and FAST. The atmosphere is laid back and welcoming, and they even have a patio if you enjoy outdoor dining. Congratulations again on your new location! I'll definitely be back.

This time, however, I decided to try the quesabirrias, and unfortunately, they were disappointing. I also ordered a horchata, which I didn't think was very good. The biggest area that needs improvement is the customer service. I would describe it as average at best, and in some ways, closer to poor. I understand that no one is obligated to greet customers or wish them a good day, but when you're paying for a meal--especially at a place that isn't exactly cheap--you at least expect to be treated with kindness. During my visit, no one greeted me when I walked in or when they came to take my order, and overall the staff didn't seem very welcoming or attentive. While I was waiting for my food, I asked if I could get a little more horchata. The employee simply replied, "No, you have to buy another one." I responded, "No, that's okay." Honestly, if the horchata had been really good, I would have gladly paid for another one. It wasn't so much about having to buy a second drink--it was more about the way the situation was handled. Small interactions like that can make a big difference in how customers feel. I truly believe this restaurant has a lot of potential. If they improved their customer service and showed a little more warmth and empathy toward their customers, it could easily become one of the best Mexican restaurants in Birmingham. The food has potential, but the overall dining experience also depends on how customers are treated, and that's the area that still needs the most improvement.

Where do I begin?…read more First of all, the restaurant is very colorfully decorated, which instantly brightens the mood. We were able to seat ourselves, and immediately afterwards the waitress brought complimentary salsa and chips as she took our drink and food order. The salsa and chips were very good. The chips were crisp and freshly made and the salsa had just the right amount of kick to it. It was sweet and unique and I could see myself ordering it as a to-go order. For our entrees, I ordered 3 street tacos and cheese dip. My guy ordered the steak fajita plate. After a short wait, our food arrived, hot and fresh off the grill. I wasn't a fan of the pollo taco. It was bland and lacked any type of flavor. However, the campechano and chorizo versions were much better. The cheese dip stayed watered down even after it cooled but had a good flavor to it. I looked up to see my guy reaching for the salt shaker several times. I tasted a small serving of his steak. Yall..,.I kid you not. That steak had no type of seasoning-no salt, no pepper, no nothing had been sprinkled on it. To sum it up...it was overcooked and under seasoned. He kept trying to doctor the dish up by adding salt and pepper but after a while stopped because that should've been done in the cooking of the dish. He only ate a 1/3 of his dish. Upon paying the check, he attempted to share his disappointment with the waitress, who now all of a sudden, doesn't understand English. Keep in mind, we had been communicating with her just fine throughout our time there. Needless to say, we will not be returning to the restaurant location anytime soon. I've visited the truck before and will return there.
