During the recent windstorm we forgot to retract the awning and it was damaged. I first called the original installer, and unfortunately the experience was very disappointing. The first thing they told us was that the damage wouldn't be covered because we didn't retract it during the wind storm, and the customer service was extremely rude. It also reminded me how difficult it was working with them in the first place, they gave us the runaround for almost 6 months before the original installation. After that, I reached out to Where Shade Is Made, and the difference was night and day. I spoke directly with the owner, who assured me I would get a call Monday morning to schedule the repair. Sure enough, Monday morning I received a call from Jimmy their GM, and from that point on everything was smooth and professional. By the very next day our shade was repaired and working perfectly again. Even better, Jimmy let us know that the repair didn't require as much work as originally expected, which actually made the final cost lower than the quote. That kind of honesty and customer service is rare these days. Thank you Where Shade Is Made for the amazing service. I truly appreciate the professionalism and quick turnaround. About three weeks later, I was given a date they would like to install the awnings and I agreed. Three weeks later, Mario said they were ready and asked if I was ready for install. All good. We had to accommodate a unique roofline and Eric helped figure it out, though it seems that the materials are best suited for a straight-forward, plug-and-play installation with minimal customization. The pricing was competitive. We opted to have six can lights, a ceiling fan (the fan was provided by us and they installed it), and two outlets installed. After signing the contract, the installation occurred roughly 4-6 weeks out due to their full installation schedule, so plan accordingly and book as soon as you feel comfortable if you know you want to go with them. The installation team (five workers total, led by Jesus) was quick, efficient, and respectful. They installed the cover in one day and left the area clean prior to departing. Here are a couple of minor "issues" we encountered... one post is not completely square/perpendicular to the nearby patio edge, so this is a bit more obvious to see, but not terrible. The covered outlets they installed were standard indoor style. I chose to replace them with GFCI outlets (cost me $40 total at Home Depot) since they are outdoors and one has a fountain plugged into it. I would recommend Paradise Patio Covers to friends and neighbors and would definitely use them again.

They worked efficiently and completed everything in just one day, which honestly exceeded our expectations. What I appreciated most was how easy it was to communicate with both Juan and Raul. They were responsive, patient with my questions, and very open to making adjustments to fit exactly what we wanted. I never felt brushed off or rushed, which is rare. The workmanship turned out clean and solid. The structure feels sturdy, everything looks well-aligned, and the finish came out exactly how we envisioned. The responses to my questions were fast, and I asked A LOT of questions. All my questions felt welcomed by Shay and I am so thankful to him. Quality was superb. I asked Shay for help with adding a wall to my garage, change area of laundry air vent, demo carpet on stairs and on second floor , change subflooring on second floor, install laminate flooring where carpet was, new walk in shower, and upgrade our stairs to have risers. The finished job looked beautiful and well built. There were minor details that I wanted fixed and Shay had it fixed next day. It was amazing. As for the cost, it was comparable to other competitors. We saw Shay and his team had proof of work. Shay took us to one of his other renovation projects and that house was beautiful. Even after the job is done, Shay does not ghost you.
