The food is fantastic! I got the steak burrito and street corn with horchata to drink. Everything was made fresh and hot. The shop is clean and well designed. The staff is welcoming and friendly. I will certainly be back!

Mecca has the best flatbread in the state - hands down. I have been shopping here for a couple of…read moreyears and I always pick up a 3-pack of the flatbread - reasonably priced at $2.99. Mecca is located in an old strip mall just off route 40. The grocery store is packed with food for Middle East cuisine. I pick up ingredients that I can't find elsewhere for stuffed grape leaves and other Greek dishes. I find specialty oils and cheeses for cooking. The prices are good. They also offer a limited assortment of fresh Middle Eastern pastries and cookies which I have not tried. The staff is always super friendly and will help you located items. The store is never crowded and there is plenty of parking.

Used to come here for the pita bread. I've been wanting to write this for months now, but I wanted…read moreto give it some time. It was quick trip I took to get some pita bread and spices. All of a sudden I see a lady on her phone and a man walking around the store. Mind you they are speaking a different language and I can not understand what they are speaking about. It seemed like they knew eachother but weren't shopping together. The lady was on the phone until she checked out. I was behind her and the man cut me in line and started to talk to from cashier. The lady walks out the store. Then the man walks out the story shortly after talking to the cashier. I check out and everything is fine. Once I start walking back to my car I see the lady in her tan mini van looking at me the whole time. I get in my car and she continues to stare at me as if she as trying to look through ( my windows are tinted very dark). Ofc I lock my doors immediately getting into my car and after a couple of minutes she drives away. Then I start to back out of my parking spot and notice the guy who was in the store starts to back out... very slowly. So I wait for him to go first but he was going so slow I backed up and headed out. Then he followed. At first I just thought he was going home and was his normal route. At the stop light he pulled up beside me and pulled down his windows. At the point I knew I was fucked. I acted as if I was going straight and last minute turned around. He quickly turned around and tried to get into a neighborhood I made seem I was going into. Then I zoomed far away. This man was driving a beatup/dirty black Mercedes with a sunroof. I stopped taking that route until one morning my phone told me to take a different route to work to avoid traffic. Passed by the Mecca market and seen the same car, same guy with a long beard growing out walking into the store early in the morning. At that moment I knew I had to post this. Please be careful going here... there is something suspicious about this store. Whether they look at the cameras and are watching young girls come into the store by themselves. I have a feeling I am not the only one who has encountered this. Stay aware of your surroundings and tread carefully. Don't come here alone!!!!!!!!!! I will never come back here nor close to this store again.

This one, while tiny, carries all the essentials and includes a meat counter and small produce section. The staff was very friendly and tried to help me translate fruit. They carried my favorite standard brand of peppers and spices. They carried a large selection of hot sauces. The meats looked fresh and interesting. There was an interesting selection of Latin American sodas and beverages, can goods and rice. The shelves were neat and tidy. Religious items including handmade rosaries were available near the front check out counter. The steps into the store are a little clunky and the aisles are tight. I'm guessing not ADA standards but I am not an expert. Great little store for specialty items.

This review is kind of a mixed bag, but, ultimately has a happy ending. I have a friend who sent me…read morea Kroger e-gift card so that I could use it for fuel, but, it turns out, Kroger doesn't allow you to use e-gift cards for fuel, even though it says in the terms and conditions of the e-gift card that you can use it for fuel. So, I spent an hour at this location in Avon trying to get it resolved but was unable to get it resolved because I didn't have certain personal information about the purchaser. Frankly, I don't understand why an e-gift card can't perform the same functions as an actual physical gift card. It would be great if Kroger could rectify this. My hope is that in the future, Kroger will allow e-gift cards to be used to purchase fuel. With that said, the acting store manager I believe, Joseph, was really great about everything. He was literally on the phone for probably 30 minutes trying to get it resolved and he had to call a few different numbers to get to the correct department. Unfortunately, as I said above, because I didn't have certain personal information about the purchaser, they could not move forward with the process. Joseph, however, went out of his way to help me and bought me $30 dollars worth of gas with HIS money. Pretty amazing customer service and Joseph was cool as a cucumber the entire time because he knew I was stressed about the situation. I'm not mad at Kroger or anything, because I love shopping there. But, they really need to update the legalese in the terms and conditions with regard to their e-gift cards so that it doesn't say you can purchase fuel with an e-gift card. Joseph is an amazing manager and human being for helping me because I truly did need to get gas and he made that happen. There are still great people out there who want to help and I am grateful that they exist, because we need as much human kindness as we can muster in this world. Because it is only us, as a collective, who can change this world. Thank you for helping, Joseph, you are a good egg:) I will continue to be a loyal Kroger customer because outside of this minor snafu, Kroger is still the best grocery store around.

Kroger - The pasty inside of a cherry pie. No fresh type cherry filling. Nasty. It's always this way. What a waste.
