This hidden little deli makes fresh, made to order, sandwiches that taste incredible. We stopped for lunch yesterday. Sandwiches are only $8 and for $2 more select a gourmet side and drink. The staff is super friendly and accommodating. I ordered a tuna sandwich with marinated Greek salad and ice tea. The sandwich was prepared quickly and the multigrain bread was fresh and nutty. The Greek salad was a meal in itself! Soooo good! The salad had paper thin noodles in a vinegar seasoning that was tangy and delicious. My husband had the roast beef sandwich, which was packed with meat and cheese. He loved it. A staff member checked on us to see if we needed anything while we were eating. There is plenty of seating and patio seating as well. The space is shared with Slapfish. I think parking can get tight during peak hours, but there were not many people during Saturday lunchtime. Random story: My family went here growing up, back when there wasn't much in Noblesville. My dad also used to always make up bedtime stories for us, and his go-to story was always about a boy named Billy who hid between the potato chip bags at Broccoli Bill's - LOL. I therefore have a deeply-rooted connection to this spot, as it still feels like special folklore to me. *And I'm lowkey still looking for Billy as I shop for chips.* Anywho, I love all of the local items they offer here. I'm not entirely sure what Broccoli Bills is, but I like it! It is a small grocery store that sells fresh produce, and it's a meat market, and a place to buy fish and seafood, and an ice cream stand, and now it also houses Slapfish. It's small but mighty. The people who work here are very friendly and patient. There is one checkout stand. The floors are wooden and worn. It's got a nice vibe, and I like it in here. We got some ice cream from the ice cream area. They have a dozen or so flavors, including a flavor that I had never had: lemon custard. Yum! Good stuff. Broccoli Bills seems to be very popular right now because Slapfish just opened, and Slapfish is located inside Broccoli Bills, and everyone wants to get at it. I've stopped in here a few times over the past five years and will say that my rating on this review may be low because of the construction going on which limits the store size/options currently as well as the lack of fresh produce that is in abundance during the summer and fall. During my visit, the deli seemed to be doing okay with its line of Boar's Head meats and cheeses. There were also some displays of local, artisan type food items available. Where the grocery falls short is that they simply don't have that much room to carry a large variety of packaged items like the big box stores. So, if you are fond of supporting local businesses and don't mind making a special trip, you can enjoy shopping here. I'm a long time fan of Broccoli Bill's. But their website and Yelp promo is way out of date. Caplinger's fish is gone. Sanibel fish is gone. Slapfish is in. So is Hot Toddy's baked goods are in. The deli is grossly underrated and not featured with Fresh salads and Entrees daily. Sundae's ice cream is fabulous, another hidden gem. You would not know about any of this online. I really wanted to love this place. It took over the space left vacant by Caplinger's in Noblesville inside Broccoli Bill's. The portion sizes we're larger than I expected and everything was a good deal for the price. We tried the calamari and clam chowder to start. The calamari was a bit overdone but would have had potential otherwise. The clam chowder had large chunks of potatoes but seemed a bit skimpy on the clams and was pretty runny. I like a thicker chowder. I ordered the fish and shrimp both done crispy (a less fattening sounding word for fried). Both were lightly coated with a cornmeal batter. Like the calamari, I found the shrimp to be a bit overdone. The fish was good but not a wow. My husband had the broiled fish and I liked that better. My meal came with 2 mini hush puppies and cole slaw. The hush puppies were my favorite thing and I wish they had been a bit bigger. The coleslaw was not cold which made it less appetizing. Confession: I had low expectations. Nothing they had done or things I had heard. In fact, I hadn't heard of it all. You're telling me there's somewhere I can go for delicious fried fish and I've never heard of it? No way. Went for lunch one day and got the fried shrimp and fish combo. Sure, grilled or blackened would have been healthier....but when fried fish is an option, you choose fried fish. The staff was super friendly and most importantly, my food was realllllly good. I had heard and read about Broccoli Bill's and motivated by my nice healthy lunch at Essence Cafe, decided to stop in and pick up items to whip up a dinner salad. The location is very cute and the building that houses this specialty market is immaculately maintained inside and out. However, I think I must have stopped by on a day or at a time when the stock was a little low. I'm guessing that weekends are when the most produce is available - or maybe I just expected a lot more local stuff. The corn, tomatoes and peaches all looked good, but I didn't see the overflowing bins of other fruits and veggies that I was anticipating. One big disappointment was not finding good lettuce - the two Romaine heads I did see arranged on the crushed ice were a little wilted so I ended up selling out and getting a bag of Romaine for my masterpiece. What I did like was the selection of staples, deli items (Boar's Head) and frozen foods. I picked up a portobello pasta sauce and some whole wheat pasta - thinking ahead to another of this week's dinners. The deli case was well stocked and the freezer had a fair selection of Schwan's items in it, which I don't recall ever seeing in a grocery before. The ice creams in particular caught my eye, but I stayed strong :-) I like the concept of Broccoli Bill's - it's sort of like a closer, fancier Stuckey's Orchard market store, only with a deli. They don't have everything here, but I think it provides a moment of nostalgia for those of us who remember mom-n-pop grocery or specialty food stores. I accidentally discovered this place while on the search for some pastries for a friend - all thanks to Yelp! I wish I lived closer because I would be at this grocer all the time. I loved the small town feel it had and the small variety of offerings. I picked up some pastries at the Rene's Bakery section and was super impressed with the variety. I love their location in Broad Ripple so I am happy to know they have a location closer to me up north. They also have a Natural Born Juicers inside - awesome! Their meat counter had a great variety of options that I would gladly check out. I also want to try some of their prepared foods in the deli case - it all looked delicious! I absolutely love the Gray's Road Market! I ordered food from the Sanibel Seafood Company, which is fairly new, and I loved it! The fish was fresh and cooked to perfection. I also loved my corn on the cobb and hush puppies. There also is tons of fresh and healthy food to buy from the market after you are done eating. There are a few other places to get food from in the market too, so I would love to check those out soon. This is the ideal spot for a relaxing and healthy lunch, any day of the week. Everyone is so nice and helpful. I had surgery at Methodist in August and I couldn't wait to make the drive from Plainfield to pick up more red potato salad, and check out the market. I just moved here from California 2 years ago so this was a nice place to shop with unique items to buy. They also have other shops fish, bakery, and a nice juice bar. I will be back. I wish you could try some of the sauces they sell without buying and taking a risk you won't like it because it's 5.99 a jar. It was nice to try the cold salads from the deli. I went in for the red potato salad, and left with that and mom potato salad, chicken salad, and a broccoli pasta salad. They have a nice selection of Boars head. I tried this place for the first time today. I was very impressed with the fish taco! It was cooked perfectly and very well seasoned. I totally enjoyed the slapfish sauce. I also got a side of coleslaw. Definitely the best slaw I've had in this area. Would have liked to see the carrots cut just a little smaller or thinner though. The portion sizes were VERY big. It was enough for 2 meals for me. I liked the juice they serve too. They have a good variety of drink options other than soda which is a huge plus. I felt like I had a healthy meal, got my money's worth and left with a full belly and satisfied palate. My only issue was the kid at the register seemed a little unknowledgeable about the questions I asked about the menu before I ordered. Great little place tucked away in Noblesville with a selection of really fresh fruits and veggies, along with a deli counter that makes a mean chicken salad and a potato salad you'd be proud to bring to a bbq. This is a hidden gem. It appears they are just getting started and I hope they make it! I got the fish and shrimp basket with slaw and my date got the jumbo shrimp basket with slaw. Both were very tasty. A very casual place with plenty of seating inside and al fresco dining as well with plenty of parking. Seafood, Boars Head in the cold cut case, fresh fruit, ice cream and a bakery case all in one place. To be fair to Broccoli Bill's, my review-quality visits have most been November/December so it's definitely not the best time of year for local produce. I definitely got the feeling it was not "peak" Broccoli Bill's season when I was there. That said, there's a lot to like here in terms of local products and produce as well as other specialty grocery items. It's not as substantial as some of the downtown specialty stores but I'll give it a chance to grow into its new space. This building is also home to the delightful Caplinger's 2, but I tried not to let that affect my score. At the end of the day, I'll definitely be coming back here to pick up some things you just can't get at the chain grocery stores and probably some Christmas presents for my foodier friends. read more

On Friday 2/22/19 we had their "all you can eat fish fry dinner", which was excellent. The $9 price included a side and a drink. The fish fillets were delicious, with a crispy fine corn meal and seasoning coating. It was a very generous portion, so we did not need seconds. Cole slaw was fresh with a nice dressing which was flavored with a few celery seeds. The cooked collard greens were A+! Chef Isaac is delightful! We thought we were going to have lunch at Caplingers, we were so hungry we stayed. He ordered a fried chicken sandwich and fries, I ordered the fried tenderloin with mac and cheese. We split sandwiches. Fries were ok, Mac was ok. Chicken sandwich small and tasteless, Tenderloin was flattened, thin, hard to chew. Cokes were tasteless. A bit pricey, a long wait as only three other people were in the restaurant, nobody came to check up on us and our satisfaction. Very Disappointing, my guy said it was the worst food he has ever had, tasteless and the thinnest tenderloin. Won't be going back. Word to the wise, save your money and your time. read more
