Is there anything better than finding a delicious vegan restaurant with great customer service? Avo is just that! I came into town late and was looking to pickup some food. The team was extremely helpful and knowledgeable when it came to their menu and allergens. They walked me through the lentil walnut and cali burger and how to make those soy-free (remove the coconut cheese/queso). They also walked me through other options and were happy to do so, which can be rare. The Cali Burger had amazing spice and the sweet potato bun was soft and delicious. Fries and buffalo wings were on point! My non-vegan colleagues originally wanted to go elsewhere but ended up devouring their options as they couldn't say "no" when they tasted the food. My son and I recently ate at Avo, and overall it was such a delicious experience. The vibe sits somewhere in that perfect middle, nice and elevated, but still relaxed and not overly upscale. The kale salad was good, different than what I expected, but still enjoyable. I'd give it about a 7/10. The cauliflower wings were solid and pretty much what you'd expect, around a 7.5/10. Now the standouts... the blueberry cheesecake was a 10/10....so good, rich, and flavorful. The potatoes with queso at the bottom were also amazing, definitely a 9/10. I ordered an iced matcha latte, which I really enjoyed it's slightly on the sweeter side, but still a 9/10 for me. My son got the animal-style burger and absolutely loved it, he gave it a 10/10. On top of the food, the staff was really kind and the customer service was great. I even had the chance to meet the owner, who was incredibly sweet. The cocktail menu never disappoints with fun and interesting sips and if you don't imbibe, the mocktails make you forget that they aren't spiked. Delish. I tried the Kimchi Spring Rolls which were creatively made with kimchi cashew pâté, hydrogreens, cucumber, carrot & cabbage, replace the peanut sauce with tahini sauce. I also ordered the Cauliflower Wings (great version) - gochujang style, a good mix of sweet & spice. The owner (originally from Atlanta) was welcoming, as we chatted about the history and progression of Avo. The lounging and bar area offers a cozy atmosphere with a welcoming ambiance. This is an incredible option for vegans and overall healthy eaters! The service was incredible, he was especially attentive to my extensive allergies. They have a pretty good happy hour menu with a delicious (and strong) lavender gimlet. The space itself is stunning! I only wish there was a little more variety in the menu, but I am not vegan and not the a super healthy eater so I am not the target audience and that's okay! Due to my allergies, I only had a few options. I ordered the pesto penne and it was not my favorite. I have had vegan pesto before, but I think all the added vegetables with pesto pasta turned me off. I have never had carrots in my pesto pasta before lol. Popped in for a quick and healthy lunch. There is nearby parking that is free for up to 2 hours. The restaurant is beautiful, light and airy, with lots of windows and cute decor. We were sat right away in a corner both. Our server Stephanie was so friendly, attentive and kind. She did a great job walking us through the menu, and had only nice things to say about Avo. I got the impression she was very passionate about working there. The menu is large and impressive for a vegan restaurant. My dining partner and I were not vegan, but truly enjoyed every bite. We ordered a half kale Caesar which was still generous in size, the bigass hashbrown, and buffalo and garlic parm cauliflower wings. Dare I say, the bigass has brown which come topped with garlic sauce, avocado, an golden beets was the best hashbrown I have ever had. The kale Caesar was impressive for a dairy free dish. STORY TIME: I went to Avo after a long day of work. I called them around 1:45pm and they said that the kitchen would stay open until I got there (around 2pm). As many people saw, Avo shared a video about needing some community support and my friends and I were happy for the reminder to go! I appreciated that the business gave us the opportunity to help them rather than so many that seem to just up and close overnight. I hope the Nashville community all goes to check out Avo! I never met a potato I didn't like and these were no exception! We loved both appetizers. I got the tofu katsu for my main and it was such a generous portion! This was my second time coming and wasn't disappointed. We came for brunch to celebrate my husband's birthday. He's vegan and I enjoy vegan food. I love the cauliflower wings and it was just as good as the first time I had them. Just enjoy spice and cooked to perfection. My husband had the breakfast burrito he really likes it. I stopped in for a working lunch on a weekday, and received memorable service from Iris and the rest of the team. I let her know that it was my first time dining here, and she offered great menu recommendations. The Lunch Trio is a great value for folks who want to try a little bit of everything (like me). You get to select three different small plates from three categories for $17, and it's so much food! I ordered their seasonal Deli Salad, which was kind of like a cold Pad Thai, the Fried Potatoes, and the OG Nachos. Everything came out quickly, and offered a fun mix of flavors and textures. Pro tip - dip your fried potatoes in the nacho "cheese" sauce. The interior of the restaurant is bright and welcoming  - with beautiful modern accents throughout. For context I'm not necessarily an avocado fan generally, although i do like a good guacamole. The cauliflower wings were fried well and came in a larger portion size than i anticipated - we split the order into buffalo and gochujang - both were tasty and had a good kick. Since my last review nine (gulp) years ago, so much has changed at Avo, including the non raw additions to the menu and, most recently, the location. Like a fool, I found my way to the old location where you can still see the avocado mural on the outside of the building. I was crushed because GPS led me here so I thought it was closed but then asked around and was pointed to the new, gorgeous location just steps away. I was here for lunch and they have a really killer lunch special but I knew that I needed that cheese plate. And it's literally the best cheese plate that I've ever had! It has a nice variety of savory + salty cheeses, tahini dip, olives, jam, fruit, capers and bread. The kale Caesar is literally perfection, with thick slices of the best vegan parm in existence. It is a huge portion and the perfect follow-up to the decadent cheese plate (and it's pretty decadent on its own, I cannot lie). The new space is luxurious and large, with tons of natural light and plants and teal/royal blue accents. A serious mood enhancer during the day! And I can only imagine how sultry it is at night. Wow, Avo has come a long way. I first visited years ago when they were next to the sand bar/volleyball field. I remember the food just being okay. Fast forward to yesterday and I was truly impressed. The ambience in the restaurant is really lovely. Nice lighting, spacious, they even have a small bar area. Also , bonus points for free parking. The ordering process was easy and our waiter Isis was delightful. I went with a friend after work and we ordered the nachos to split. They were amazing! They came out warm and full of flavor, with the right amount of spice. I ordered the wild Nashville salad and it was delicious, although I thought the portion could have been bigger. My co worker ordered the cauliflower steak and raved about it. Keep in mind neither of us are vegan, we just like good food! I didn't order a cocktail but my friend ordered a mocktail which she enjoyed, but the glass was half full. I've experienced this in a number of bars/restaurants in Nashville and it's quite confusing. I was super excited to try this restaurant as it was one of my friend's favorite restaurants. Walking in, it is very well decorated with lots of natural light and plants to give it a very nice, jungle aesthetic. It didn't appear super busy when we came but we were a larger party. Service was nice but rather slow. I ordered the nachos because I love nachos and how can one mess up nachos? Unfortunately, due to the speed, or lack thereof, the nachos came out room temp and quickly got cold. This wouldn't be terrible as I've definitely eaten my share of cold nachos, after a late night. But this was a nice brunch so different expectations. The chips themselves were also underwhelming, it almost felt like they just took a bag of grocery market chips and put toppings on them. Sadly, I was very underwhelmed by the food and service. This was a spot I really wanted to like and perhaps they really just had an off day. I've loved avo since the beginning. Its gone through several transitions (including ownership, all raw to mixed, covid shutdown times, and switching their physical building- big things) but continues to be a go-to for me. I has their avocado margarita and Dirrrty drink (has espresso I believe) the margarita was so creamy! I sat at the bar and the bartenders name was chris, she recommended the kimchi egg rolls, they were amazing!! The peanut sauce was spicy and delicious. This is one of their signature dishes. I'm not much of an eggplant person but wanted to try theirs. I had the Linguini Ala Vodka that was a generous portion of pasta (can get GF) and 2 fried eggplants slices. This dish redeemed my opinion of eggplant. The inside bar is small but fine for me and they had both inside and outside dining. Ok so I wanted to love it because I love avocado. But nah...it's just not hittin. When I give three stars, it means I'd be happy to never eat here again, but I wouldn't have an adult tantrum or choose to starve if it was my only option. Disclaimer--I ordered on UberEats so they may have impacted my experience. Let's start with the cheesecake since I liked that. I got the cheesecake of the day. I don't know what flavor it is, but as you can see in the photos, it is quite green. The top cream colored layer was good and the crust was wet, but flavorful. The green sauce on top was also good. The middle is what I couldn't really get with. What is going on here? Is there kale in it? Spinach? Something didn't go right because it doesn't taste like dessert :-( so basically I scraped off the top and bottom and ate that. The lions mane crab cakes were interesting. For starters, they were cold. I think this may be the fault of the UberEats driver though so I'll excuse that. This is only my second time having lions mane, but I'm a crab cake connoisseur--especially vegan ones. So this was less of a crab cake and more of a...shredded mushroom ball. I need my crab cakes to have a nice crispy top and bottom layer. This was lacking in the crisp department. Additionally, it was lacking in flavor a bit. There was a strong reliance on the sauce, but the "crab" cake itself didn't have much flavor. Now the kale Caesar salad. Kale needs to be massaged. Period. Otherwise, we will look like pandas munching grass. And because kale is so tough, my jaw gets tired if it's not "pre digested" by being somewhat broken down. That being said, this salad had dressing but the kale was very tough. The chef should have massaged the kale with the dressing and then tossed in the remainder of the ingredients. Also, it can do without the sun dried tomatoes. Avocado would be good, or maybe croutons since that's normal for a Caesar salad. read more

I am definitely an Avo fan. This is a vegan restaurant that curates their menu towards being fresh and approachable, for vegans, vegan curious, and people that just like good food in general. They are well known for their frozen avocado margarita. That is surprisingly tasty, and quite refreshing. They have great lunch and happy deals. And I often stick to an avocado margarita and nachos with soy chorizo. However the last time I came in, I got their kale salad, bombbb, and their lemon pepper cauliflower wings, those weren't my favorite. The cherry blossom cocktail was great, but if you're not a fan of soda, pass it up for another craft cocktail. I really enjoyed the bread. It had the perfect warmth and their herb butter was delicious. The penne pesto primavera was really good as well. The texture of the pistachio walnut blend that topped the pasta was overwhelming at first and took a few bites to adjust to but overall a solid dish.
