Now, I usually take my car to the Steubenville Pike Pep Boys, so the Cranberry thing was just a one-off because at the time I thought it would be more convenient as I was in the area and figured the service was good at my usual location, so why not elsewhere? Won't make that mistake again. Anyway, last weekend I took my car in due to some rumbling noise in the rear which I thought was due to a bearing. Turned out I needed my struts replaced. So Bob, ace Pep Boy extraordinaire at this location told me he could take $100 off with some in store coupons to buffer a bit of the cost as I would also need an alignment, which goes hand in hand with this sort of job. So I took my car back in today. They fixed the struts, but Bob informed me they found some other weird noise after that. I was a bit saddened by the news as this is a '99 Camry I'm driving with over 200,000 miles on it. Great car, still drives excellently, but these little repairs can add up fast. When I went to pick up my car and pay for the struts, Bob informed me that the other noise was being caused by the bushings, and that he just comped that for me, saying, "I just wanted to make sure it was 100% for you." Awesome. Just, fantastic in every way. I also got the discount that he mentioned the week before. So all in all, I was a happy guy, fully vindicated after the disaster that was my previous trip to the Cranberry Store. This is the Pep Boys you want to go to if you're in the area. The staff is friendly, they know what they're doing, and they're not there to just punch in and out and pick up a paycheck. Bob went out of his way to make sure I got service above and beyond what I expected just because he's Bob, and he's awesome. So take note, corporate heads of Pep Boys, this is a stellar store and one all your others should be modeled after. The Cranberry location can still eat it.

We wanted second opinions so we went somewhere else each vehicle we got two additional opinions and neither vehicle needed anything additional to pass our inspections. This is foul and I swore I would never be able to have a negative experience anywhere here because PA is such a great place. I was the only person in the store and "Doug" came from the back, walked towards me and then proceeded to the far end of the counter. He did not address me but did look me in the eye. I thought perhaps he was busy with a customer in the phone. He was not he then stood at the far end looking at me when a male customer walked in walked past me and went to the far register and Doug said May I help you to him. My response at this point was "are you really going to wait on him as I have been standing here and you have seen me? " He response was very angry and he said "I didn't see you. " I told him that he had seen me and that I believed he was being rude. " At that point he started yelling and told me he would not serve me and I could not make my purchase. I left and went to another employee in the parking lot replacing a battery and requested he tell me the managers name. He would not and seemed very fearful only saying that he was inside. I called the store after getting home to no answer and no satisfaction. I called corporate in Raleigh with no response. I located the regional manger for this area named Jeff and explained that this prejudiced bully of a man refused to serve me and yelled at me. I was told that it was an HR matter and he could do nothing for me. This Doug person is prejudice against women and try's to bully you when you speak up. Advanced allows this misogynist behavior to permeate their establishment. Avoid this chain store at all costs. Give them no support!

I purchased a car from #1 Cochran Lot 1 on Jun 30, 2026. Was allegedly inspected on Jun 12, 2026 at Cochran's Nissan Dealer. (That's important, b/c Nissans are famous for transmission issues.) My daughter was in desperate, immediate need of a car to get to and from work. Not a new monster truck or expensive marque, just basic, *reliable* transportation. Approx. 1 week after purchase CEL came on. On Oct. 7, 2026 car had a catastrophic transmission failure (which *may* have been a replacement). We had the car for 99 days, 5611 miles!!! Cost to repair would be in excess of $7500 (Car cost Also, *multiple* other (costly) problems, after only approx. 3 months! Did they knowingly sell a junk vehicle??? If so, this place is predatory on poor people who need transportation. How did it get past PA inspection? (Maybe their license should be lifted.) Called to speak with the salesman late last week. Was "in a conference call". Never returned my call. I am on a on a fixed income. My daughter is just scraping by. These people are shameless, and I am faced with having to seek legal remediation of this situation.

Well - surprise of surprises - there was no plate when the car arrived. I contacted the dealership and spoke with Jesse, who said he was the Sales Manager. He was very apologetic, threw the person who'd forgotten to send the plate under the bus, and assured me the plate would be sent to me overnight. Overnight would have been yesterday. Mid-afternoon arrived, and no plate, so I contacted them for a tracking number. They provided that, and tracking showed that the plate would be delivered today - not yesterday. So they did NOT send it overnight, and that meant another day that I could not drive the car. If my experience hadn't been bad enough, this was the icing on the cake. Save yourself lots of trouble, and buy a car elsewhere.
