My first clue this was bad, they were wide open for appointments even on the weekend. This location used to be my go to for my husband an my cars until they neglected one thing on his truck. I don't remember what it was exactly but the result, a dead engine. He went in, they told him they couldn't do the inspection because of a broken tail light. It was a small piece, red over red and barely noticeable. they didn't tell him it was the whole light assembly, $645.19 + labor. They never told him any prices. They never asked if they should replace two other bulbs, $3.49 & $3.99, ++ 2 - $52 labor charges. I tried calling them, the phone rings but they don't pick up. Next, I went to the main Firestone site and through a chat rep I explained the issue. The full charge was showing as pending on my account. I wanted them to reduce it and only charge what was done. The chat rep said a management person would call me back, it's over a week later and nothing. Now the full charge is showing on the account $909!! I tried the store again and finally got someone on the phone. He was not able to do the refund himself but agreed, since not everything was installed we shouldn't have to pay it. I am supposed to get a call back from the manager when he gets back in a couple days. We will see what happens. Update: Never got the call back. I called Corporate again and they said I had to go to the store to get the refund. I went and the manager didn't want to give me the refund for the light assembly because it was a special order from a dealer and they couldn't return it. He offered to give it to me but what am I going to do with it. I told him I spoke to corportate and they said to go to the store to get the refund. He argued that there were no notes on my account, not my problem, I want my money back. He finally did it. I am done with them. read more

Never an issue with this place. I have a company car and they always try to accommodate me. This is what this type of business is based upon. I cannot speak for people who have to pay. Had both front tires replaced last week. They were 60,000-mile tires, supposedly, that I had purchased at the Chauvet store 2 years ago. One tire was barely below what would pass inspection, and the other one was totally bald after only 2 years and approx. 10,000 total miles. I was told by the manager that, because I hadn't rotated the tires at 5,000 miles, the warranty did not apply (I.e., wear out all 4 tires and the warranty would apply). I went through this same scenario at the same store 2 years ago, and both front tires were replaced for $30 each plus balancing, etc. I told the manager that I should at least be able to replace the bald tire at half price ($100), but he just tried repeatedly to explain what didn't make sense. If $100 is that important to them, I'll go elsewhere in the future. read more

I'll copy the complain made to the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General: Months after a turbo replacement performed by Firestone, my vehicle began to show serious mechanical problems. Specifically, while driving, the coolant light activated, and my car began to steam, forcing me to pull over due to a smoking engine. Upon inspection by another 3rd party mechanic, it was discovered that the initial service provider (Firestone) had failed to secure the coolant on top of the turbo, causing it to leak, and left wires on the firewall loose which is a safety hazard. It appears a temporary hold by a rubber O-ring gave way under pressure, leading to the malfunction. After reporting this issue to Firestone and sending them an invoice for the corrective work done by the second mechanic, they initially agreed in writing to send a compensation check and asked what additional compensation I desired. However, upon my follow-up, they ceased communication and later accused both the mechanic who inspected the vehicle and me of fraudulent claims, despite having SUBSTANTIAL documentation and photographic evidence of the oversight and subsequent damages. read more

I went over the list of things I had requested and asked him to please start and check things off the list He said he would get on it and call me back with a progress report. I never got a call back so I called near closing time. Clerk said nothing had been done and that nothing would be done till the next day as per the managers instructions. I asked to speak with the manager Jared but was told that Sunday was his day off. I went today Monday at opening time to be admonished by Jared for harassing his employee to contact him on his day off. He said he had called a tow truck to remove my car from his shop and was sending it somewhere else to be serviced. This was something that was not communicated to me nor I had agreed to. I said no and that I would drive my car away myself. Which was exactly what I did . I limped my car away and drove it to bother auto repair facility that was recommended to me by locals I am happy I took my car out of there. For two days they did absolutely nothing that I asked them to and the shop never called me at any time while it was there. No diagnosis no service just lies and the worst treatment of a customer with a long history as a Firestone customer. How sad.....:( read more

I was hesitant to bring my car here again because I had a bad experience in May when I went to get my inspection. (I dropped off my car at 8am when I had an appointment for and said I didn't need it until 2:30pm since they had a few people walk in behind me...trying to be nice. I called at 2pm because I hadn't heard from them and they hadn't started my car yet because they kept taking walk ins. I didn't get my car back until 5pm) I needed service though so against my better judgement I took it there. I made an appointment for 9am for an oil change and to have my headlights looked at as they stopped working. They said my appointment was under review and then I got the confirmation. I took my car in and when I got there the guy saw what was in my appointment and I explained the issue. He said that the guy that would know how to assess the headlights, because of it being an electrical problem, was off today so they couldn't do anything with it. He then seemed annoyed that I did not want to get my oil changed still, but why would I get an oil change there if I have to take it somewhere else to get my headlights looked at? Why would I sit in two waiting rooms? I don't understand why the appointments say they're being reviewed before if they aren't actually reviewed. If they knew that person was off today why was my appointment confirmed in the first place? Not only are they always rushed and rude it's just always an issue here with the vibe that you walking in is an inconvenience to them. I don't ever feel comfortable here and the convenience of the location just doesn't out weight the issues I always seem to have. I won't inconvenience them with my appointments, my business, or my questions anymore. There's so many other companies that are an option that don't make you feel like this place does. They dont enforce their own mask/corona safety policy. Customers sit for hours in the waiting area with masks around their chins endangering both the employees and the other customers around them. Masks need to be worn over the mouth AND the nose to be effective. Not just used as a beard covering. Employees remove masks when checking in and checking out customers. read more

Crooks. This shop will take advantage of you. My relationship with this Firestone began about 3 years ago with a purchase of 4 new tires and an inspection. Perfectly fine. Due to my last experience going well I brought my car back for an inspection the next year. Everything passed just fine. Assuming that I had built a relationship with the shop I made an appointment to get my car inspected this year. First attempt was a fail and I was told to replace my rear tires as well as my rear tires. They quoted me almost $1000 for the repair. I handled the repair myself and bought two discount tires for the rear. I just took my car back for inspection and failed again. They claimed I needed front tires. While the mechanic bs'd at me about a possible $400 repair I told him that the tires he was claiming needed replaced were bought at that location within the year. He looked it up ACKNOWLEDGED THAT THEY HAD ONLY BEEN ON THR CAR FOR 30K MILES and still insisted they wouldn't pass. There are ample treads and no balding spots. It's a very new tire. This shop is in the business of selling tires. If you need anything else DO NOT COME HERE! read more

Please do not make the mistake I did; AVOID AT ALL COSTS. I am still dealing with issues resulting from this Firestone back in May 2023. I had my car towed here after it would not accelerate. After they had my car for about a week, I went to pick it up and paid almost 3k. I BROKE DOWN ON THE WAY HOME, AND IT NEEDED TO BE TOWED RIGHT BACK. At first, the store manager stated my car must have been in such bad shape that it broke down again, but then he later admitted that one of his mechanics made a mistake when fixing the car. I was put in a seriously dangerous situation. The store manager, Derek, admitted that they do not test drive their cars, except for around the parking lot. The best part was that when we went to pick up the car, all of my dashboard lights were still on. Derek and his team couldn't figure out how to get them off, and we had to leave the car there AGAIN. Additionally, they told me my battery tested bad and charged me for a new one. When I received my service breakdown with my tests, it said the battery was good. I confronted Derek about this and he was unwilling to reverse the charge, but when I went to get my car for the second time, the service manager did. I did end up getting a few hundred dollars off of the whole service after much back and forth with Derek. My car is still stalling about once a month, but I have no trust in this place so I won't go back there to get it checked out. I called corporate about this whole experience, but they never followed up. I would not describe this provider as trustworthy, kind, helpful, or knowledgeable. 0/10. read more

*SCAM ALERT* had a P0411 "secondary air injection incorrect upstream flow detected" took to this place and they said i needed 2 things done, solenoid and smog pump. i decided to just get 1 done.... the light came back on so i took it back to get the 2nd thing done.. this time they told me i also needed to replace my spark plugs or the light will come on again.. they never told me this the first time, but whatever. AND IM NOT SURE WHAT SPARK PLUGS HAVE TO DO WITH SECONDARY AIR INJECTION... DIDNT replace plugs BUT replaced the second item.. LIGHT CAME BACK ON.....they told me i had to replace spark plugs didnt replace plugs *key point* i looked closer at the auto zone diagnostic sheet... as you can see in the pic the diagnostic is in dark print and hard to read BUT IT SAID I NEEDED TO RESET THE ECM.... i did a month ago (wanted to wait to make sure light didn't come on before writing review) and no light, runs perfectly read more

My husband took our Jeep Wrangler to this place because it was the closest and the Jeep was not running. We are here out of town staying in a hotel and needed good reliable service. THIS IS NOT THE PLACE. Rude, lazy! Left the Jeep yesterday to get checked not a call back. This morning we waited 3 hours after it opened my husband walked over nothing they had not checked it. My husband told him them our situation and they said ok we will call you. About 2 hrs before they close and nothing from them. My husband walks over again and they try to STEAL MONEY from him. They tell him he needs the fuel pump and regulator changed. Little did they know the Jeep had a new fuel pump! My husband told them he knew for a fact it could not be the fuel pump, but if they could change the ragulator. They said NO. They do both or nothing. WTf?!? So basically we GOUGE YOU and make some money or get out of our face. After my husband refused the service they didn't like it and my husband felt rushed to get the Jeep out of their shop. Of course it's not running so he had to wait for a tow truck again. Both me and my husband rather take the Jeep out of this piece of shit establishment and pay more money than let those thief's rape us. It's not about the money! With auto repair places you never know if you're being hosed unless you do your research. Nine times out of Ten there's no time to do the research since most of us need our cars back ASAP when something goes wrong. For the past two years I've been using the Firestone at: 500 Chauvet Drive Pittsburgh, PA 15275-1050. Which I'm hoping Yelp HQ will be nice enough to put where it belong correctly in their search maps. While I'm not convinced I'm getting the best-best pricing on repairs and big ticket items, I do know two things: 1) They actually do care about what happens with your car, they do have all of the sales pitches for the "recommended" repairs but I have never felt like they were pretty much holding my car hostage while guilt tripping me into repairs my budget might not fit at the time. 2) They are good on their word. On a couple ocassions there were manufacturer defects on the parts put in our vehicles and both times they were quick to re-order and re-install at no charge. There was no run-around. There was no attitude. I do use their charge card and take advantage of their cash-back and other perks, so even if I'm not getting the lowest possible price on spark plugs or serpentine belts, I know at least I'm getting something back and that they'll back it up in the event something goes wrong. read more

I had been going to this location for several years and always thought they were fair and honest. Jolene and Burt were awesome, however, they no longer work there. Things have definitely changed at this location. The new manager there has absolutely no personality and is rather rude, you're just a number to them. I feel like I'm just a big dollar sign to them. They have become like every other auto repair chain, suck the customers for as much money as you can. I no longer trust them nor will I take my car or my sons car there anymore. On February 27, 2015 I took my Ford Edge AWD Limit to Firestone "So Called" Complete Auto Care center at 500 Chauvet Drive Pittsburgh, PA 15275 for an Oil Change and Alignment check The services that was supposed to have been done was as follows: Specialty Oil Change up to 5 QTS. Winter Car Care Package Alignment Check The cost was $65.57 The Alignment was free because I paid for Life time Alignment whenever I got my Bridgestone Blizzak tires last winter... Needless to say, I always take my Ford Edge to Firestone because I trust the service, HOWEVER, that will change!! I was charged for Winter Care Package and they didn't fill up my windshield washer fluid. "Go figure"!! $65.57 for an oil change and Firestone don't bother to check and fill the windshield fluid! Unbelievable! I was driving home from work and salt got all over the windshield and could not clean my windshield properly because the fluid ran out.. How is that possible when I just got an Oil change???? Not only that: today I took my Ford Edge AWD Limited to Day Ford in Monroeville, PA 15146 (3696 William Penn Highway) because of a Ford, Lincoln Mercury Recall notice. The Service department at Ford lifted up my vehicle and inspected for fuel tank leak per recall. They took me to the service area where my vehicle was raised and showed me the leaking oil. Firestone has done all service on this vehicle and never told me about the leak!!! Go figure.. I will inform my family member "All my sister's to really think about taking there vehicles to Firestone! I've been to many other car maintenance facilities, but none quite like this one. Being conditioned from past negative experiences/humiliations, I was rightfully sceptical about going here. Thankfully, I was proven wrong. They have reversed my fear of keeping up with the maintenance of my car, because of: - the warm welcome - thorough process (paperwork, information about your vehicle, etc) - Jolene (the only woman I've ever seen working at this type of place. She is very knowledgeable and adds a bridge of comfort to other female customers. She is extremely patient and does not pass an ounce of judgment to the many questions asked.) - they inform you of any suggested repairs, but don't haggle you to have it done NOW. I could go on, but these are some important attributes that make this place stand out in my opinion. read more

Avoid. I went here to get a routine oil change and tire rotation. I also asked that my front end be aligned after telling them my car pulled to the left while on the highway. When I get back they tell me they can't rotate my tires because of uneven tread-this is completely fine I did need new tires. However they went ahead and did an expensive front end alignment anyway knowing that the tires were likely what was causing the pull in the first place and that an alignment was unnecessary. Here's the kicker : They tell me my rear suspension is busted and as a result I will continue needing new tires and new brakes until it is fixed. They then try to pressure me into getting it fixed there on the spot and of course bring up using the Firestone credit card. I just got my car inspected and the mechanic specifically looked for suspension issues and found none whatsoever. They are likely fine to visit for oil changes or tire rotations but I personally would not give them my business. Especially if you're a woman. read more

This place did not put my car back together property. They left a part off or lost it then when I called they said they would see if they had one or if we replaced it they would reimburse us. Their computer system is comprehensive so they know who you are and what's been done. You're able to make an appointment with a phone call. The techs are knowledgeable and explain things clearly. My husband needed new tires for his GMC Sierra. Being new to the area we just drove to the first tire place we noticed and it worked out perfectly. Dave was extremely helpful and easy to talk with. Even without making an appointment it didn't take more than 3 hours for the installation and alignment. The tires are great, the customer service was awesome. Very uncomfortable experience. I went to firestone to get an oil change since they have a good $24.99 deal on that. They said they would do a thorough unofficial inspection on my car for an additional $9. I said OK to that since my car was making a funny noise. After, he said I need new brakes, rotors, brake fluid, a caliper, etc. Estimated cost was over $1100 for everything. After consulting with a family member, I told firestone I will need to take my car elsewhere for a second opinion. Now he got the price down to about $800 for everything. I called a local reputable repair shop and they price quoted me $430 for all of the same things. At this point firestone said if I get the firestone credit card I can save 5% and do 6 months with no interest. I told him saving 5% is much WORSE than going somewhere else for HUNDREDS of dollars cheaper. I'm all about people doing their jobs and pitching the sales they need to, but this was the first time I was very uncomfortable at Firestone. They made me feel belittled as they talked down to me after I told them I will not be getting the repairs there. Upon taking my car to another repair shop for a 2nd opinion, it turns out I only needed new brakes and rotors. I also had them do my PA inspection/emissions and they took me the same day. For everything including tax I left the shop in Carnegie at $320. I will NEVER let firestone look over my car again. It hurts to see that they make money trying to take advantage of people. read more

This place is ALWAYS trying to "up sell you" with some additional expensive services or parts to make more $$$. Go in for a regular oil change or a 4 wheel alignment and they'll take forever due to coming out to waiting area with a long list of things they pressure you to have done. No wonder my darn oil change isn't done yet! I guarantee their mechanics get a nice commission/bonus on all the extra stuff they push onto the waiting customers. Also, I HATE their so-called shop fees (to pay for the paper towels used???) they discretely add to your bill. This is nothing more than a way to pad the bill to unsuspecting customers. Advertise a low price, but then "nickel and dime" you in the end...classic Firestone move. Also, I have NEVER owned a Firestone tire that has even came within 75% of estimated total mileage on a new tire. By 50% they are usually worn out...their 60,000 mile tire will need replaced by 30,000 miles. read more

My boyfriend took my 2000 Ranger in for an alignment yesterday. He questioned why they only set the toe-in but didn't make any other adjustments. They told him my aftermarket front end couldn't be aligned. He showed them the special cam adjusters we had had put on the truck so that it COULD be aligned. They didn't seem to know how to do the job. First they told him they needed a special tool they didn't have; then they told him the ball joints were bad so it wouldn't stay aligned anyway; then they said they could do the job but it would take another 2 hours. (Should have been a 20-minute job.) Clearly they were just trying to get rid of him, and it worked. He left. I bought the lifetime alignment package so they're not making any money off of me and haven't for awhile as this truck has 297,000 miles on it. Oh, while he was waiting for the techs to get their act together, he overheard a service person giving a woman a $400 estimate to have the spark plugs changed in her 4-cylinder Ford. Yeah no. They first decide that what I have provided them is fine in order to do inspection. I leave, then come back 25 minutes later only to be told that I now need additional documentation. No phone call to notify me. I then go and get what they wanted, they then proceed to take almost two hours to do a car inspection for an appointment. In early May, I made the mistake of taking my Honda Odyssey to this shop for a simple oil change. I also asked that they check the brakes. I received a phone call from Jared, the service manager. He informed me that I was in need of a new radiator, shocks and struts. I gave the OK but asked that he use genuine Honda parts. I was pleased that I could pick the van up later that day. The total bill exceeded $1000. Almost immediately I noted oil smudges on my driveway or wherever I parked the van. When I took the van to a garage in Akron, OH that I have known and trusted from childhood, I was informed that the entire undersurface of the van was covered in transmission fluid. I was told that the radiator was what was called an after market part and not a genuine Honda part. Worse yet, it seems that the transmission fluid lines had been spliced together. Even after this was fixed, Firestone had another surprise in store for me. When more drops showed up, another garage found that Jared and his crew had made poor transmission line connections to the radiator. All told, it cost over $600 to undo all the damage this shop did. I later learned from those that know more about cars than I do that these shops have quotas to fill. As I know nothing about cars or their maintenance, I was the perfect patsy. read more

will never go to firestone again, did work that I never had authorized and charged me big bucks. told me I needed new battery, alternator and spark plugs. had them give me old battery back- still under warrently. took it to where I bought it, they put tester on it battery was fine. ( so couldnt get money back on battery) . car then broke down next day, towed it to local dealer this time. He said only thing wrong was the starter. told people at work. one of the girls had same exact experience of adding things that were not authorized. yes they refunded me alittle money back cause i complained (cant use words I want to) but little money compared to what they charged me $1400. really wonder how people like this can live with themselves. read more
