Angel is wonderful. We rented a convertible mustang in Orlando and quickly realized half way through the trip it was just not for us (too small, hard to get in and out of, did not fit all of our bags/suitcases properly) etc. Called this location to ask if we could switch out for another vehicle for the remainder of our trip. Angel said to come on by, we showed up the next day, she remembered us from the call and was quick and very helpful! She got us an SUV, let us even pick what we wanted and adjusted the rental agreement. Great customer service! read more

I am a 15 year Platinum member with enterprise and hertz wanted to try electric vehicle here booked online..here a AVIS VENICE 41 BY-PASS....PLEASE ....BEWARE if you go over 1 day the Latino women reports your car stolen which you can't even modify to extend on your app or 800# rented 1 week and wanted extension during the long weekend they close early on weekends when I called 800# said extension impossible call renter counter where you picked but closed on Monday so called on Tuesday early morning was told car reported STOLEN even with notifications by text about access to extend vehicle...wednesday i immediately returned car after their was no way to extend the rental. Arrived to meet a very rude women sarcastic on how she treated us...would not even give me my receipt one hour later I received receipt via email... with late charges late fee and misc charge totalling $160 extra dollars. CALLED CORPORATE EXPLAINED MATTER and ARE INVESTIGATONG AND GIVING ME CREDIT OF LATE CHARGES SHE TRIED SCAMMING WITHOUT KNOWLEDGE!!!! I forgot to note car was dirty not washed crumbs all over seats. Battery not fully charged...stains on windows.. had to clean myself...Never complained just let it pass upon rental pick up. .Go to HERTZ north of this place right side of 41 very nice staff in and out 5 mins with a new rental all washed clean full tank of gas. read more

As someone who rents from Avis often, the experience here was deplorable. Hidden in a dilapidated strip mall, the experience was similar. Showed up to have the car I booked unavailable. Downgraded 2 tiers for a 20 hour road trip and put in a vehicle that hadn't been cleaned at in the midst of a pandemic (literally looked like there was baby spew on the back of the front seats), had a broken front bumper and was an overall piece of garbage. Drove 8 hours and now the check engine light is on and it's seeming impossible to swap the car out and Avis is just sending us on a wild goose chase to all Avis' in the area. read more

We rented a one way rental from Tampa to Venice which was fine. When we returned the rental, my husband worked with a gentleman for a one way from Venice to Orlando. Two days prior to our pickup we looked at the reservation and surprising saw the reservation was booked to pick up and drop off at Venice for the wrong dates. My husband called and spoke with a guy that was rude and told him they do not offer one way rentals, and then spoke with a Manager who was also no help. Both my father and husband are Avis Preferred and we will not be going back! read more

If I could give their corporate customer service a 0 I would!!! I have dealt with the local Venice FL branch in the past and they were very accommodating, We never had any issues. Called to reserve because the price on line was different. I couldn't pay on line because "I was told they were having internet issues." I did take pictures of the pricing however when I called they quoted me a significantly higher pricing, (Supervisor said she couldn't honor that price) NOT GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE Will take our business elsewhere. I reserved a convertible car on July 28. I paid for it with my credit card ahead of time online. I showed up 30 minutes early to rent my car only for the agent to tell me "sorry we are out of convertibles". I asked her why they wouldn't call me and let me know so I can reserve one somewhere else and she stated they don't do this. For a company to falsely advertise a product and have you pay for it and then tell you a simple "sorry your out of luck" is unacceptable. This is a major cooperation and should be ashamed of how they run their buisness. They clearly pull a bait and switch. They have you come in thinking you paid for a certain car and then when your in there, you have no other options but to rent another car. I will never be dealing with Avis again. read more

Hands down the best car rental in Venice FL. They set me up with the nicest car possible #1. #2 the customer support received from the staff was incredible!!!!! I mean beyond incredible. They don't breath down your back yet maintain a level of professionalism that would impress the most critical executives out there. When I I say I'm hard to please I mean it I'm beyond hard to please!! I will be referring friends, family AND clients. These ladies should be given a raise for their commendable hard work and customer support. !! read more

Currently in Florida on Vacation with my boyfriend. We needed to rent a car for today and return it to the Orlando airport for tomorrow...our flight is scheduled to deport for tomorrow evening. So my boyfriend and I called around for a rental car for what seemed like a hour and the places we called were all out of cars. We finally were able to book a rental car "successfully" with budget. We had his cousin drive us 45 mins to Sarasota County, Florida. After the 45 min drive we arrive at budget...only to be told that they are out of cars. Unfortunately, my bf's cousin had dropped us off and had to be at the airport themselves to pick up family. So we were stuck at budget trying to explain to the very rude budget representative the situation...she could care less. She was a horrible Representation of the company by far...poor excuse for a customer service rep..long story short , the nice and very friendly lady at Avis (I believe her name was Becky)was awesome! I called her while at Budget and explained to her that we had to walk about a mile to come pick up the car. She even held the car for us. She turned our terrible experience into a stress-free and over better experience! Thanks Avis!! read more

I really needed help getting a rental price down because I had read my online agreement wrong. The agency bent over backward to help me. I was very grateful for the accommodation, which saved me a couple of hundred dollars. Now I can enjoy my time down here and not be freaked out that every mile I drive is costing me an arm and a leg. Poor customer service. Prices for a reservation were apparently misquoted. Upon repeated questioning and speaking with a supervisor, the price was adjusted; however, several extra fees were tagged on, which were not explained during initial contract planning over the phone. Underage driver regulations were misrepresented by the staff and we were refused driving privileges, even though at initial contract planning it was explained that these would somehow be waived. Personally, we will never again rent from Avis. read more

If you want a ride home after you drop off your rental car, forget about it. They won't do it. I was disappointed in their customer service. Will never use them again. At least the Avis in Venice is off of my list. There are local family run rental car businesses in this town that far exceed the service you will get here. Don't use Avis. You can get the same price and way better service if you just look around town. read more
