BEWARE SCAMMERS - Read thru other Yelp reviews about scams at this same location. So we get (2) emails reminding us to drop the keys off with my rental. Problem is, we never rented a vehicle & especially not one in another state. Many calls and over a $1000 later, we learned that two reservations had been made at this location under my spouses name using my credit card 6/5/25-6/12/25 for Uber Driver Rentals. Some AVIS Reps said it was an in person transaction, while others say it was done online. AVIS general customer support is useless by the way. Charges were steadily coming through even after we contacted them. One rep even advised that we should just ignore the emails as spam. We took matters into my own hands and called the location where the transactions were made. We spoke with Toya who said per the manager our wizard # was similar to the uber driver who rented the vehicle causing an error. When we asked how that mistake could be made because we have different names, addresses, credit card info, etc. Where was the due diligence and security protocol on part of AVIS to verify the renter? How was this supposed "mistake" done twice? No explanation. She said that the manager was processing a refund back to us, but as we waited on the confirmation email, all we kept getting was alerts that additional attempts to run the credit card were being made. We asked her what was going on and she had no explanation. Luckily, we had already alerted my credit card company. As we began to research, we found Google, Reddit & Yelp reviews from others complaining of poor service and scams at this location. We've also learned that AVIS contracts/partners with 3rd party vendors. AVIS needs to take more accountability in ensuring that their customer information is protected. I can only imagine how many dollars go unnoticed or unrecouped. Scammers are getting rich with the help of employee insiders while consumers foot the bill. We will never do business with AVIS again and am working to deactivate my WIZARD account.Do yourself a favor and RENT ELSEWHERE.

He offers 2 cars which are not as nice as what I rented and says "well pick because this is all we got". Picked the other car and that one smelled like cigs. She was my initial agent and my first interaction with the organization and it was an excellent experience overall the vehicle and the team members were exceptional and their level of customer service. Upon my return there was a gentleman by the name of Curtis he was amiable he was pleasant and he had an excellent amount of customer interaction and made sure that I got an excellent feel for the city of memphis. Everyone I encountered in this location were great ambassadors for the city it gave me a different perspective and I was happy to use national car rental will definitely use them going forward on more of my business trips.

Marcus got us off on the right foot by helping us find the perfect vehicle for our family reunion a Honda Odyssey, which was a fantastic upgrade from the Pacifica we originally expected. The real star of the show was Miss June, who made us feel like family from the moment we met her. She not only welcomed us with open arms literally but also gave us fantastic recommendations for local restaurants and attractions. It was like getting a warm Memphis welcome from a long-lost relative! When we returned the car, Victor ensured everything wrapped up smoothly, making the entire process seamless. All in all, we had an extremely positive experience. She questioned me to be sure I was me, even after printing out the documents and while holding my ID and my real credit card. She asked me a couple of times , my information as stated on my ID and on the paperwork. I prepaid for everything, weeks before my arrival therefore, I'm not sure why she treated me like I was trying to break into ft Knox. I low-key wished that everyone was like her because, she was very professional and did her job as if, she owned the joint. If everyone were like her, we'd never have fraud going on. I noticed that she didn't treat others this way which was a little questionable but I could only think that it was probably because I appeared to be a youthful human trying to rent a vehicle under someone else. I didn't take it Personally but did wonder why me. Lol The 2 lady's who worked this shift, were moving as quickly as possible. It was nice that a 3rd fella joined the 2 ladies to help speed up the line because that was a super long wait. They all deserve 7 weeks off with pay honestly because they worked hard! I tried to "skip the counter" as I always do when renting vehicles but, it never works online when signing up with Alamo and on top of that, I find that, you still have to go to the desk to go over everything again anyway... please fix this system before the winter Holidays. Sheesh! It's really nice when you're able to skip the line and walk right out to get your vehicle! I found that no one was able to sign up during this trip and that we all had to wait in line to greet our car and keys I was grateful to be able to get into a brand new vehicle with only 7 miles on it! I was the first to drive it and loved it!!! When I walked out to get the vehicle, the car attendant was bringing a car up to another customer but made me walk all of the way to the front of the garage after pointing for me, to go get my vehicle. WOWWW!!! I was like, "oh so you're really going to make me walk all of the way over there with my broken wheel suitcase, and carry on bag, to get my rental" lol What a rough experience!!! Happy it was a brand new vehicle #Blessed #Blessed I will definitely need to look more grownup returning here, so that, these humans respect their elders sheesh!!! The only problem was that as I was driving out of the airport and already on the freeway, I noticed that the hood was up, in which, I ended up having to get off in a sketchy part of town to close it, at a gas station surrouned by police who weren't in site. A homeless guy sitting on the step in front of the caios seen me get out of the car and told me to be careful because, someone might kiss me, but take the car. Lol I shut the hood down, locking it, and jumped back into the suv and zoomed outta there fast, quick and in a hurry! It was super late/ early morning out and humans were coming from bars and clubs I reckoned. The SUV itself was nice and served it's purpose. I'd rent with ALAMO again as I've done many of times but next time, I'll try to look more grownup, to avoid the interrogation. Lol I'm just glad that our plane landed before closing time because Alamo was closing as I was leaving in the rental. The lady at the gate who checked me out of the lot, was amazing and such a sweet human. She deserves a year off with pay because she was just a great soul. I'll be returning and when I do, I'll try to get there earlier. Hopefully by then, the "skip the line" will be working properly without pause. Thanks to the entire crew except for MRS YOUR CAR WAY OVER THERE, GO GET IT I would've given you guys 5 stars had " skip the vounter" worked

My #1 Car Rental I…read morearrived to pick up my vehicle with 30mins to make it to wake and would like to note a few concerns that amount to customer service and product. I have been a customer here for at least 7yrs and not sure if this location is getting any better. The exterior of the vehicle showed no visible damages and neither did the interior. However, the interior was not verify visible from the dim lit lighting. Although, the picture was very different in the morning light the next day. The vehicle had not been vacuumed, nor did it appear to have been wash externally. The floor mats where dirty along with the cargo area, which I noticed when almost placing jacket there. I found cheese puffs on the back seat as well. The window also had a residue from something that was taped on the passenger window and smeared with dirt. Please see attached pics.

Due to a car breakdown, my brother and I had to rent a VAN from Avis at the Memphis airport. Uber…read moredropped us at the return vehicle entrance. Our "baggage" included 5 empty Styrofoam ice chests, a small beverage cooler, a wheeled walker, 2 suitcases, 2 carry-on style bags, a doggie car seat, a dog bed, a tote with snacks and a dog. The kiosk was a football field away near the far end of the garage. Trip 1 - Brother walked to kiosk to pick up the van. He was sent to the first floor reservation desk. Avis refused to take a debit card (he didn't have others) and would not take cash. He explained the situation with the amount of luggage & stuff & my health problems and was told they needed my credit card. Trip 2 - Brother walked back (football field distance) - took my credit card, driver's license, and phone (showing reservation) and returned to the downstairs counter. THEN was told I HAD to be there with the card. He returned to guard our possessions. Trip 3 - Using the walker, I went to the kiosk - was sent downstairs, showed license, insurance & gave them credit card. Tried to add brother as additional driver. NOPE - he has to come in person and show license/id. I returned to guard possessions. Trip 4 - Brother walks football field building, rides elevator and goes to counter with license & insurance. NOT HAPPENING ! - They refuse to add him as driver unless I am there in person with him. Rep DID NOT mention this when I was there, and she knew our situation. Brother returns. Trip 5 - Back on the walker, I wheeled myself to the kiosk and waited 15 minutes for the Rep to bring the paperwork up. Finally got the van - Can't drive from rental to return without going OUT of the garage - around the building - back in to vehicle return. Picked up Brother, luggage, stuff, and dog. Trip 6 - Drove through the vehicle return area - back outside and around the building and into the Avis rental area. Drove up as close as possible to the kiosk. Brother, dog & I went to kiosk - waited another 15 minutes for the same Rep and finally got him added as a second driver. It took 4 hours to pick up the Avis van we reserved on line. Representative Lakethia should be given the Employee of the Year award for NOT deviating any way, shape or form from policy - and NOT having the sense to explain each step in its entirity. Absolutely no understanding, compassion or common sense. To add insult to injury - I had to give my cell phone number. Since then, I'm averaging 8-10 SPAM calls a day. I NEVER had a spam call on my cell phone before this. If I could give a NEGATIVE number to this review, I would. All I can say is BEWARE and I will never rent from Avis again.

Clearly little to zero management. With a prior reservation it took nearly an hour to get a car and get to my location making me late and embarrassed. My first car had no FOB and it could not be located!!! How does that even happen?! I had to wait for them to find another car. A patron before me angrily came back because the license plates on his vehicle were expired!! Another person had no FOB in their vehicle. Staff seemed confused, overwhelmed. It didn't stop there. Upon return there were 39 to 40 empty cars lined up, with no one to check you in, patrons, clearly in frustration simply left the vehicles in the check in lanes with the emergency flashers blinking. It was sort of surreal. Renter be very ware! Hertz, you have a major problem at this location that is seriously dragging your brand down.

This Hertz location is a HOT MESS!!! I dropped a vehicle off here & didn't get my receipt as…read morenormal. Multiple calls to the number listed 901.345.5680 & no one answers, only the automated prompt. I even picked change/cancel a reservation, which prompts me to speak to the desk & it goes to a full voice mail. I've spent three (3) days & several hours getting passed from one customer service representative to the next. The last customer service representative couldn't get in contact with the Memphis airport desk & supposedly submitted a receipt request, which is another 24-hour wait. If Hertz has a quality control department, please go look at your Memphis airport location. Now at day 10 & not a DAMN thing has been done. If there is a corporate number I can call, I would appreciate it. It's a SHAME, that I've been waiting 10 days & only get run around. I am sure it shouldn't be that hard to contact a Hertz office & get some information. I find it ridiculous that there is a number to an Hertz office that no one answers the phone or returns voice messages. I must say, not sure if I'll be a returning customer after this debacle.  The Customer Service placed an Request Order 9 days ago & NOTHING!!! Hopefully someone will look into this office at the Memphis Airport. Get a phone number the staff will answer to get help/assistance. A TOTAL FAILURE in customer service & management.
