Booking prepaid, but still they debited 2 of my cards , still not refunded. Then we went outside and car I ordered or anything similar was not ready, they scrambled to get me a car, another 40 minutes elapsed. When I started to complain, they told me they doing everything to get me a car , this after I pre booked, paid, did online check in , and close to another 90 min wait. When I started to complain the manager Grace became very aggressive, and they cancelled the booking. Then, just 3 1/2 hours before my scheduled pickup, I received a call saying they didn't have a vehicle available. There was no solution offered--just a canceled reservation and a last-minute scramble to find a car for a one-way, long-distance trip. I immediately opened the National app, booked a vehicle, and had absolutely no issues. What's most surprising is that Enterprise and National are part of the same company, yet the customer experience couldn't have been more different. National once again proved why they've earned my loyalty with their reliability and consistency. When I need a rental car, I want confidence that it will actually be there--and National continues to deliver.

I arrived from a late flight and provided my documentation upon exit from the garage, and this branch chose to deny me my rental because of my temporary drivers license being slightly older than 30 days old (delay from DMV, but temporary license was still valid and would remain valid for the duration of the agreement.) This policy in and of itself i find ridiculous to arbitrarily decide when to honor a government issued document that hasn't expired, nonetheless i would accept this if the policy was well communicated. Nationals corporate policy states it accepts temporary drivers licenses as long as you provide additional forms of ID (i provided both my original expired license and passport with the temporary paperwork). The corporate policy is all focused on verifying identity, which i provided adequately. Unfortunate this how this branch chooses to treat its loyal customers.

The reason I had to go to the gate twice is because before getting the smaller vehicle they put me in the first one and as soon as I drove just a few feet the dashboard lights came on letting me know there were issues with it. Surely you guys knew this before putting the car back on the lot. So I had to keep going to the checkout gate and loop back around. I WILL NOT use Hertz again. Oh one last thing - when I booked I used my debit card. Imagine my dismay when I finally got to the front of the line to learn that I needed a credit card to pay OR they would pull $500 off my debit card plus do a credit check. What in the absolute fuck?! Luckily I had a credit card with me. Update - when I returned the car I happened to pass an employee and asked him if they had a lost and found area. Long story short he was willing to go over and look for something for me and had a pleasant and helpful attitude. He didn't end up looking because to me it seemed like it would be too much of an inconvenience for a small thing that may not have even been in there anyway, so I told him not to worry about it. Then they charged me $600 more for mileage after assuring me there would be no charge for mileage. The perky lady on the phone and the small print in the contract told ENTIRELY DIFFERENT STORIES. The second time -- today 3/1/21 -- I brought a rental in to extend usage for a few more days while my truck gets repaired. They had been charging me $40/day -- fair enough -- but suddenly they raised the rate to $120/day for the next 5 days. So I dropped the vehicle off and went to Enterprise. This may not be TECHNICALLY dishonest, but it reflects a pattern of what we attorneys call SHARP DEALING -- on the very edge of dishonesty -- that seems to characterize this Budget franchise. It is owned by a group called The Memphis Landsmen. Don't do business with this company. They are out to deceive you and empty your wallet -- by trickery.
