So, the bad news is you cannot call or reach anyone at the Memphis Airport Location. If it weren't for that extremely major inconvenience the location would have 5 stars. Now, the good news- All local branches around Memphis had literally no cars available for days ahead. But the Memphis Airport location and TONS of vehicles. As far as Customer Service, Brenden is DA BOMB!!!! He was phenominal, very friendly, and the consumate professional. He got me into my car with no problems. We had a difficult experience getting home with the CrowdStrike related flight cancellations, and we were worried at the end of trip home we would not be able to return our rental due to issues in our contract and returning the car after hours. The whole team with Enterprise was really helpful, and took the time to help us resolve our issue and make sure that our vehicle was accounted for and our contract complete. Melody was especially helpful in making this happen. Collierville, TN location. I reserved a vehicle and got a confirmation number. I tried calling six times before having someone drive me an hour to get there. They did not answer the phone. When I arrived they informed me that they had no vehicles. I told them that I had a confirmation number. Evidently confirmation numbers are only as good as the company you are dealing with. In this case both were worthless. As I left, there were three other people standing outside who had received the same treatment. Customer service is non-existent. read more

Don't have the vehicle we reserved. Reserved a minivan and they said they didn't have any when we arrived. If we wanted a minivan we would have to wait for the manager? Don't make sense. Wanted to change payment method after we reserved the SUV and was told we had to go back to the airport in person. We went back to the airport and the guy said he was a manager and there was no possible way to change the payment method. I would have to wait until I returned the car. I explained we would drop the car off before the office opened and he said to call after the payment went through. I called customer service per his direction and they said it was impossible to change afterwards. Customer service rep was also condescending. I also appreciated the reminder email I recieved day before rental & reminder email day before rental return expected. Enterprise is my car rental company of choice...(I'm a frequent flyer member)...and Memphis location did not disappoint. Had a nice clean car, new Cadillac SUV ? model...ready for my rental. SHADY SHADY SHADY!! Honestly, this place doesn't deserve a star. Made a reservation for a late flight arriving shortly around midnight on Thanksgiving. Called ahead before my flight took off to make sure someone would be there with keys once I got there. They assured me someone would be there until around 12:45 AM. My flight actually came in early and I got to the kiosk right after midnight... only to find out no one was there and they had gone home. So shady! Was forced to shell out money to Avis last minute. Luckily they had a rental, but I ended up paying 4 times what I was supposed to with the reservation. Won't ever use them again. read more

Enterprise provides the WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!! My experience with them was very dangerous and Extremely Unprofessional. Me and family rented a car for 15 passengers, 1 disabled, and 4 children included. We drove 48hrs from SAN DIEGO to MEMPHIS and in the middle of driving the CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON! and THE BATTERY LIGHT SIGNAL CAME ON! In full disappointment we've learn that they've provided an UNSERVICED VEHICLE to me and my family which Very Unsafe for the amount of days we paid to use the vehicle. Jordan DID NOT!! provide good customer service AT ALL!! 1)He made us drive the car OURSELVES to Pep Boys to be serviced. with the estimated wait time of 3hours 2)Enterprise DID NOT ACCOMMODATE ANOTHER VEHICLE for the 3 hour wait 3) My family of 15 (1 Disabled + 4 children) ALL WAITED AT PEP BOYS and HUNGRY! DEHYDRATED! With out a vehicle to travel else where for the inconvenience, we've lost our time of site seeing, and most of what was planned for our time in Memphis. Reservation to pick up at 7am... did not get a vehicle until 7:45am. Reserved an F150. Got a RAM. Terrible disgusting vehicle. Crazy how going from National to Enterprise is such a step down UPDATE: Just went to return the vehicle and had to spend 30min on the phone with customer service because there wasn't a way to drop the car off!! No attendant to check in... and the key drop box was left wide open and unlocked. The guy first told me to take it home because it couldn't be left unsafe like that! Then tells me to go drop in Avis or National's drop box... those are ALSO OPEN and unlocked. Eventually I convinced him there's no way in hell I'm coming back here in the morning. So he directed me to go put the key in a drawer behind the desk in the (empty) office. Seems very secure. Absolute joke of a company. read more

I gave a star because I did get a car and it was clean and in good shape. I had an early departure flight, dropped car off at Memphis enterprise location around 4:00am, no one was in so I left keys in drop box, car was fine no damage, I got my close out email stating all was good, now a month later I get a call from recovery/damage stating the hood was wrecked, and that they had tried to contact me, but could not find my contact information, which I know is not true , because I have been renting from various locations for over 20 years nothing has changed, I was advised to contact the branch to have them view video of drop off and I have not been able to reach them, no number to call and of course I am not in the area any longer. My dad and I rented a car here for our trip. Per my dad as he was the main person driving: "The car was clean and did great. I initially declined to buy the full tank of gas and instead said I would return full. The polite but insistent man at the counter asked me where I was driving and said I would save a lot of money if I bought the full tank. When I returned I had driven MORE than I told the checkout PERSON yet I had over a half of the original tank that I paid for. I politely asked for some credit which was refused. I am a very frequent business traveler and can say without hesitation that Enterprise, esp. the Memphis airport location, has the WORST customer service of any of my travel partners. I strongly recommend using any other rental car company you can (but maybe not National - same corporate parent as Enterprise). I cannot emphasize strongly enough how poor is the service. HORRIBLE customer service at this location! Rented a car from Dallas for road trip to South Carolina. While driving, the bumper came loose unexplainably - not in an accident, nor recall hitting anything on road. Since still had 10+ hours to drive, contacted roadside to see what my options were. They suggested that I take to the Memphis airport location to do a swap out, which they confirmed had available vehicles in my rental class. Upon arriving to Memphis, told the desk agent the issue and she comes to look at car and then TEXTs her manager who, without even seeing the damage, says the car is perfectly fine and that they can't swap out the car. Found it baffling on how one can assess safety via a text. At that point, I requested that the manager herself come and look at the car. 20 minutes later she arrived, apparently at end of her break (talk about top notch customer service :-/). She arrives, looks at car and says its fine to drive despite the very apparent damage to the undercarriage and the loose bumper which I was able to snap back into place temporarily. I explained that I spoke to roadside TWICE and they assured me that I could swap out of car, and to that they said roadside lied. How is that my problem? why not call roadside to address? No, they rather make it difficult for the paying customer. As you can see from the review by Sahil S on 11/21/20, this is clearly just how this location operates. And to add insult to injury, the manager suggested that I continue to drive the car until the bumper actually fell off! WTF?!?! So take the chance of injuring myself, my family and others, really?!?! She tried to end the conversation by saying, "I don't care what you say, I'm not swapping out the car"...you would think she owned all the cars, LOL! After back and forth for another hour and a half, and a call to the area manager Matthew L, who was just as unhelpful and suggested that I CALL other locations to see if they would swap it out...SIR, you are the AREA MANAGER - THESE ARE YOUR LOCATIONS!!!, they finally put us into another car, albeit a lesser class despite them having plentiful inventory (I know this because I was able book another reservation for the class of car I was in). They didn't even try to adjust the rate to reflect the lower class of car, but THANKFULLY upon return to Dallas the manager there immediately refunded me to make up for the difference. That location showed me that I was a valued customer! In the end, this was a terrible experience ahead of a long drive to see limited family for the holidays. I kept checking to see if I was looking at the right Enterprise here on Yelp and even checked my receipt again to make sure I was looking at the the right location--these reviews are so different than my experience! I had excellent service when I arrived last Thursday night. The man helping me on the initial part of the transaction was fast, attentive, and patient with me as I struggled looking for my flight confirmation number. When I went up for my car on the second floor, the service representative man recognized I had a wait and apologized for it (which was not his fault). And then I got an upgrade in my car! I just wanted to give some recognition to these two men this night. They helped make my arrival to Memphis easy and stress-free which is very much appreciated! Watch the bait and switch! Even more impressive than David Copperfield making an elephant appear out of no where is the ability of the clerk at this location to turn a three day rental at $29 a day into a $275 bill! Luckily I am a very seasoned traveler who knows to look for the elephant crap without getting distracted by the shifty hand gestures of the magician and knew the trick. Was able to get my bill back to the amount I reserved it for- $143! If you have a keen nose and can smell elephant crap from a distance- then give this place a go. But if you have a week sense of smell then steer clear of the parlor tricks and go elsewhere. read more

I've always rented from Enterprise Car Rental LLC. I had a reservation and tried to rent a car today waited over 2 hours because they had to find a car Joe Williams, Sr. at the 1830 Germantown Parkway Memphis Tn 38016 location tells me I can't rent a car. I'm a good standing customer with Enterprise been one since I was 21 yrs old. I've never had a problem with them and they've never had a problem from me. I guess I hurt Joe feelings or made him mad by telling him I didn't feel like a priority like enterprise states that the customer is. I waited over 1hr 30mins for Joe Williams to find a car. And because my drivers license didn't match my address on my insurance(but I explained to him it my daughter address where use to live), he asked for a light bill, which it matches the insurance address. We have Yes Utilities with the company we rent from not MLGW. And then he states that's not good enough, he won't be able to rent to me because I don't have a February bill and we just got in the month of February. Our new bill don't post til 20th of every month. I guess I looked shady to him or something, man we as black people are the hardest on our own people. But needless to say he asked Sara Sheppard who is a part of Enterprise district team and she stated she was calling her boss to see if they would except the Yes Utilities bill and he said no and this is now over 2hrs of waiting. That's so crazy because a few months back a deer ran out in front of my car and I rented from this same location. And all my information was the same no changes. I called customer service(operator # 451R9)said it was nothing he could do if the branch don't want to rent to me. And to top it off this isn't a fun trip. I was just trying to go see a relative who was sick and had surgery, and is due to have another one soon. I've been postponing this trip due to weather and other unforseen circumstances. I'm so frustrated, upset, hurt and I feel discriminated against and lied to. And like I told them, I have good rental history been renting from them since I was 21yrs( I told them 18 but, I was so frustrated but it was 21yrs old). Horrible business. I left an item in the vehicle and since I was an hour and a half early for my flight, I tried to call to see if I could come back. I call about 15 times and nobody picked up the phone. I easily could have come back for the item, since I could not talk to anyone in the office I now have to go through the process of filing a claim for a lost item. Worst service compared to other airport locations. It seems the person who helped me is the manager at the location. I got the car and although I see other cars available which I requested for ( same class that I originally reserved), he is not at all willing to listen to what I am saying and just trying to force me out of the station. Nit sure what it is with Memphis car rentals. Customer service here is not what I was taught growing up. Maybe my parents just didn't get where we'd be in 2023 with treating people terrible... just blatantly lying to customers and mistreating people and basically not giving a hoot about coming courtesy and respect. I booked/confirmed a vehicle this morning at the Enterprise Covington Pike office. Said I'd pick it up after 1pm. At around 12:00pm noon I called and talked a Jacob to say that we wouldn't be getting there til after 2-2:30pm. He said no problem. Our Uber was late picking us up from our downtown hotel and we showed up around 3:15pm. We were told from the mgmt at the Enterprise office counter that they had put us down as a no show and had no car reserved for us. After our airport treatment Tuesday night on arrival at Memphis airport where the Hertz office closed 50 minutes early and we were left stranded with no taxis running and had to wait over an hour for a Lyft driver to pick us to drive us at 1sm to our hotel... we had hoped for better treatment from another car rental. Apparently that doesn't happen here in Memphis. The Enterprise mgr didn't seem to care, understand our predicament of yet again... the concept of doing the right thing and treating people with respect. She said we could wait and maybe a car would show up and we could probably have one of those... if and when someone would return a car. This is kinda the treatment you would get in maybe a third world country... but out of my respect for third world countries... and I've been to a few. I don't remember this kind of arrogance and just bad customer service from a company depending on the public for revenue and business. If Enterprises trains their employees to treat people this way or they hire people who don't care... not sure. Poor customer service. Car was having alignment issues. Contacted enterprise twice over the phone in order to set up an exchange at this location which was confirmed. Front desk representative and manager were both very rude and said that there was no car available for us. Stated that the person we spoke to "lied" to us and that there is nothing they could do but offer a smaller car, we rented and needed a minivan btw. So long story short we are forced to drive to illinois in a car with bad alignment issues. Thank You enterprise for caring about your customers safety! Don't waste you time making reservations here. Alamo doesn't leave until the last flight for the day. So you are better off going here. I have a corporate account with Enterprise but due to the lack of customer service from Diane she was horrible by the way and unprofessional with a nasty attitude. The way she dealt with me on the phone was very poor. My flight was delayed in another state and I called to let them know I was still coming. Diane was very rude and didn't provide other options for me. ETC ETC ETC Needless to say. She said she would stay until my flight arrived which was 10 mins after closing. Got to the counter and they said she had left early. Filed a compliant with 1800- customer service hotline and got in contact with the regional manager and he did nothing to help out with the problem. He tried to ensure me that Diane did not leave the site early. He seemed to be uninterested in the issue. I was visiting my friend in Memphis and we made plans to drive to Atlanta to see another friend of ours. I completely dropped the ball and we didn't finalize our plans for travelling to Atlanta until the day before (or 2 days before) we were leaving. We were going to bus down but because we waited too long, they were sold out for when we wanted to leave. We checked one of those trip sites (I can't remember which one) to find a good rental car company near enough to my friend's home. Luckily for us, we chose this one. We made the car reservation the night before picking up and crossed our fingers. When we arrived at the office, we were immediately greeted by Melvin. He was polite, friendly and knew what he was doing. (At so many other places, it feels like you can only pick one of those three.) He always knew what was going on around him but at the same time, I never felt like he was neglecting me. He made sure to double-check with me that we were willing to wait for the car that was getting an oil change and tire rotation, rather than the vehicle that was just returned. A twenty minute wait for a fresh car? I don't mind a bit. We received the same service when we returned the car. It was just a friendly and quick transaction from beginning to end. Can I give negative stars? They were not open after we had called corporate to ensure they would be when our flight was delayed. Then they put us into a Smokey smelling car. Next, they charged us for an additional Driver after we told them only 1 driver. Then they did not have the correct car seat for my toddler. Our arrival was at 11:50 pm and our reservation pickup was for 11:55 pm and the last agent leaves at 12 midnight. Hertz stay for their customers because they know they have reservations but not Enterprise! It takes more then ten minutes to get off the plane and get your checked bags. Absolute nightmare. I lost my ID in a car on 3/27. Someone called me and told me it would be dropped in the mail. A week later with no license, I called and was given an email address. I emailed multiple times with no response for more than ten days. I called more than 15 times and no one picked up. I called the national office who claimed to file a "missing item report" which apparently never was filed. I send an email through the website which reached a useless manager. I figured out the email address for the president of Enterprise and started CCing her. I got a call from the lost and found 15 minutes later-- they had my ID under the wrong name (how? it's written on the thing!). They took my card info to pay for shipping, told me it would be $10 and send in the morning. I received no tracking email. I called again the next afternoon. No shipping label had been created. I gave my credit card info again and told it would cost $30. Finally I got a tracking email-- the the wrong address, with a new misspelling of my name (again? How? My name and address are on the license!) Obscenely poor customer service. Will lie directly to you without remorse. Nearly impossible to reach a human. read more

The associates were friendly and helped me right away out of a bind. To boot I was given an SUV for the price the other place was charging for a midsize! We have rented here many times and have status with enterprise. Landed only to find a lobby full of people and none of which have the car they reserved. They are 100% sold out and told us we can sleep in their lobby until 6 AM when some cars might be returning. If you have a car reservation how in the world can you have 10 parties without cars late at night? Is the craziest thing I've ever heard of or seen it. I felt bad for the guy behind the desk having to tell people as they arrive there were no cars. We are now taking a cab downtown. Went to Memphis for Easter. Needed a car large enough for 3 people with luggage. Had reservations with Enterprise. Fast in. Fast out. Everyone we encountered was professional and checking our car back in (most traumatic part because I am always very anxious leaving) took less than 5 minutes.
