    Excellent pricing, courteous staff, clear cut, customer-friendly policies! My first time renting from Avis has made me a soon-to-be repeat and very loyal customer. I paid a mere $42/day for a Nissan Sentra and was shocked to discover that no hold was placed on my credit card, no fee for Avis insurance assessed me, and no demand that I use my own auto insurance ever made. There was no shady fine print, no double-talking. My final bill was shockingly exactly as the professional, courteous agent, 'Steven,' who handled my paperwork, said it would be! Thus, I'll be ditching the car rental company which was for so long (20 yrs at least) my go-to and will be using AVIS BUDGET RENTAL from now on! I am so very pleased & impressed! You really should try 'em! TIP: no matter the company, before you rent, always inspect (the vehicle, that is).

    Needs maintenance light on.

    Here is my rental they gave me with half a tank of gas. Bumper coming off. Dent on car. Filthy dirty. Seats are stained. Needs maintenance light on.. Asked for a different car said this is all he had.

    I rented a Ford F150 for my trip to Pinetop. Cheapest i found in my search and unlimited miles. Staff is friendly. Pickup and drop off was the easiest and fastest I've ever experienced at a car rental place. Plus they are the only car rental place that had reasonable weekend hours. This allowed me to pick up on Friday after work and still have time to drop it off Sat before they closed. About 8 miles into my trip a warning chimed. It was letting me know a tire was low. 29 pst compared to the other tires that had 38 to 40 pst. Sigh. I found a gas station that had an air machine and filled it up. I didn't experience any other troubles on my trip. One star gone bc this should have been checked before i picked up. I will def rent from them again.

    Excellent service. They didn't oversell me, it was straight to the point. The entire process took about 15 minutes. Love it.

I arrived expecting a smooth pickup, only to find the car left outside with no key. No instructions, no proper handoff--just a car sitting there that I couldn't even use. It completely disrupted my plans and ruined the start of my trip. What made things worse was the so-called "customer support." Calling in did absolutely nothing. I was passed around, given unclear answers, and it felt like no one actually knew what they were doing or saying. Instead of resolving the issue, I was told to go all the way to the airport to switch cars--something that should have never been my responsibility in the first place. I ended up wasting hours of my time both on the phone and in person, going back and forth in 100-degree weather, trying to fix a mistake that wasn't mine. The lack of accountability and organization is unbelievable. The phone service is completely unreliable, and the in-person experience wasn't any better. This situation could have been avoided with basic communication and professionalism, but instead it turned into a stressful, time-wasting ordeal. I expected much better service, especially from a company of this size. This experience has completely changed my perception, and I would not recommend dealing with this level of disorganization and poor customer care.

Please be wary of booking through the Costco travel site as they offer no benefits. I would be better off booking through sites like Priceline or Expedia as we have never paid $632.76 for a 3 day rental in Phoenix, AZ. Please be wary of renting a car through Avis as they add all sorts of chages that are never heard of. The taxes on my receipt are 16.1%. Arizona does not have a sales tax that high. The combined sales tax rate of chandler is only 7.8%.

They're conveniently located right near where I live and I enjoy having them so close. Today I went to pick up a vehicle I had reserved online through Costco. Nico was working and I have dealt with him a bunch throughout the years. I had reserved a standard car and Nico gave me a Nissan Altima and explained that he was a little short on cars. We did the paperwork and walk around and everything and Nico was nice throughout the process. When I got into the car and drove off I noticed the smell of cigarette smoke coming out of the vents. I figured that someone must have smoked a cigarette and then got in the car and maybe it would go away after awhile. After driving it for a little but, the smell wasn't going away and when it comes to cigarette smoke and the smell of it, I'm very sensitive. I also have asthma and COVID did a number on my lungs when I had it about a year and a half ago. Since Nico said he was short on cars I began calling around to other Budget/Avis locations around my area and no one had anything they could swap the car out with. I then called Nico and explained the situation and he said that I would have to call the airport to see if they had anything. Why he wasn't going to call for me is beyond me but that's a moot point because I wasn't going to go down to the airport anyway. I called Enterprise and was able to get a car from them so I returned the Avis rental to Nico. When I walked in, he didn't even recognize me and said, "Returning a car?" When I handed him the contract he looked confused and said, "You just picked this up..." and I jogged his memory by stating I called. I re-explained that the car smelled like cigarette smoke and that it wasn't going to work for me. Nico didn't apologize or show one ounce of empathy and instead said, "Well, I have to charge you for a full day since the car left the lot." I literally had the car for an hour and a half and he's going to charge me for a full day? I was extremely taken back by the lack of customer service/empathy. He wound up charging me almost $40 for the hour I had the car. I wound up calling Corporate and they supposedly refunded it, but seriously...who wants to have to do that. I have been a customer at this location for many years and I have to say I'm going to seriously reconsider going here. The Enterprise location on Chandler Blvd is way better and they actually treat you like a valid customer.

Most recently, I rented a car for a week and after taking the train to the rental car center, I was able to skip the desk and head straight to the Emerald Aisle to pick any available car. I would highly recommend setting up an account with National and taking advantage of this.... being able to skip a line at the counter is a blessing. In any event, we went to the aisle, picked out our car and were off after a brief stop at the gate to check everything. Return was also quick and painless. Josh did a thorough inspection of the car, which we returned with a full tank and in pristine shape, and we were on our way in no time. It's amazing how frictionless the experience can be, as opposed to how awful other companies (I'm looking at you Hertz) can make it. I highly recommend National.

Best part was no upselling or tricks like a lot of the Hertz airport employees. He even told me how to bypass the annoying AI chat customer service if I needed to contact them on the Hertz phone number. This guy gets customer service and no issues whatsoever with this location. In and out in 10 min. You do have less selection and the cars are stored in a normal strip mall parking lot. I can't speak for coming here when it's the weekend or more packed. If you have your heart set on the car in your reservation, look elsewhere as the nature of these small locations is you basically just get what's available that day. Go to the airport location if you are very picky about your cars.

    At this point, this isn't a one-off issue -- it's a pattern…read more I reserved a full-size SUV (suburban class) months in advance, which is more than enough time to have the correct vehicle available. To try and avoid the usual issues, I even had an executive customer service representative (Laura S.) reach out to this locations manager two weeks prior to my rental to ensure everything was set. None of it mattered. I still arrived and was given a Ford Expedition instead. This has now happened multiple times with different hertz locations, so clearly reservations -- even with corporate involvement -- don't mean much at this location and others. The condition of the vehicle made it worse. It was dirty, worn, three different brand of tires and had over 60,000 miles on it -- not even close to what you expect when paying for that class of vehicle. Here's the part that really pushed it over the edge: I returned the vehicle to the airport location, and somehow I was charged a cleaning fee. That's right -- I was given a dirty vehicle and then charged as if I returned it that way. As an employee stated it's just big and dirt baked on by the Arizona sun. On top of that, trying to contact the location was a joke. Calls were being unanswered or immediately hung up. Between the wrong vehicle, poor condition, lack of accountability, and being hit with an unjustified cleaning fee, I'm done. I've already canceled multiple future reservations in 5 different cities and will be taking my business elsewhere. If you actually expect to receive the vehicle you reserved -- or even a clean one -- I would strongly suggest looking at other rental companies.
