I had an advance reservation for a low-end car on a Sunday morning. flying in for a funeral. Apparently they were not very busy because there were MANY cars available. The agent spontaneously offered a larger car (I am a tall person) without any hint of an upcharge. Even bettet, the agent did not respond to my negatuve answer about buying overpriced daily insurance by issuing the usual litany of reminders about the advantage of paying a daily rate amounting to $7000 per year for extra coverage. Maybe five stars coming in! Unfortunately, the drop off could have been a disaster. I had not focused on the fact that Budget is just a name--plate for Avis, and when I was returning the car, there was no separate entrance for Budget. So I drove past, and around, and went in a different driveway. Then I had to wait in line to get out, and was worried about missing my plane. Finally, when I drove in the right driveway, I noticed a sign for Budget car return lying on the ground. Better signage is needed for the returns

However, the overall experience is very bad. The young man gave us a 2018 Nissan Maxima, "a little upgrade" according to him. But upon closer look, the car has many minor scratches/dints, right-side rear-view mirror was crack'd, interior is dirty, and the back window was covered with leftover glue (he later told us a customer put on a tinted window film & can't be removed cleanly). Since the guy showed his displeasure throughout the whole process, we decided to not argue with him further. When I asked where's the key, the guy said it's in the car, and he went back to his office. We hop in, and tried to find the key. Well, we can't find it. We went back to his office and asked. He said "Oops, it's in my pocket", and then he handed it to me. He didn't say sorry or nothing. I was going to say "thank you", and I am glad that I didn't. After a day of driving, I realized the back window clearance is a big issue for me, and I tried to remove the leftover glue, but it was impossible. So we called the guy, he told us he didn't have any full-size car left, if we want to exchange, he can only give us Chevy Spark. I said okay. We look at the website, and realized it's a subcompact car, way too small for us. So I called him several times trying to cancel the appointment, but he didn't pick up the phone. The next day, we went into his office. Fortunately, we met his boss, an older gentleman. without saying much, he agreed to give us a different car. And he gave us this clean 2020 Nissan Altima, while it's not a premium model, it's good for us. Then came Saturday, it's time to return our car. We called them and again no one answered, soon we realized their office is closed. We decided to go there still. The rental is inside a Double Tree hotel, and the staff said we can leave the key in the drop box. But we preferred to have a complete & clean return, so we went to the other rental place about 15 miles away. To our surprise, even this older gentleman who gave us this newer car, while more professional than the young man, he didn't tell us that they will be closed on the day of our return. If you are determined to come here to rent a car, please lower your expectation & ask all the questions first so you won't be surprised.

When I got there, I checked the board and saw my vehicle was waiting in a designated spot. I loaded my stuff in the car, get to the exit and the person at the check out looked at the car, then the reservation, then told me, with quite a snark, my car is the "Impala in spot 111". Well, maybe I made a mistake. Went back to the spot and, nope, this was the vehicle in spot 111. Additionally there was no Impala to be found nearby. I go back to the booth and inform Mr Snarky this is the vehicle that WAS in spot 111 and there's no Impala I could see. He dismisses me, gets on the phone talks to someone, then tells me (with added snot for good measure I guess) go to spot 11 or 12. I tell him you should just let me take the Jeep Wrangler (not like it was a Caddy). He says "we can't just give these away". Not looking for a freebie. Just don't make my move all my crap and warm up another car! Not only that, 3 minutes out of the rental area, the gas is showing on the first line from full so it wasn't really full and the next day I find out there's no freakin' washer fluid!!! Never again with these twits!! TL/DR They assigned me to the wrong car, was snotty about it, didn't give me a full gas tank and no washer fluid!!

They are directly attached to a body shop and they seemed to only have a few vehicles for rent. Inside there are two 'stations' for customers to visit with the Hertz employees. 2014/2013 Chevy Cruze... Grey? Yeah. Grey. I personally believe that a rental shop has more duties than just handing you the keys to a car. I might not be paying for the rental... but someone is! And, If I was paying, I would be upset that they do a poor job of maintaining their vehicles. The car has bangs and bumps and bruises all over it. The employee at Hertz did not really seem to care and even mentioned how he "Wasnt worried about it". The front left wheel/tire has been damaged and vibrates at all speeds. It is also low on air and causes the car to get abysmal gas mileage. If i hadnt needed a car immediately I would have told him to take it back and gone elsewhere. I did enjoy that they picked me up in the car from the body shop.

I am extremely disappointed with how Hertz handled the loss of my personal property…read more I accidentally left a pair of vintage wood-frame Cartier sunglasses hanging from the sun visor when I returned my rental vehicle. I realized it almost immediately and went back to the Hertz location the very next morning, before they even opened, to try to recover them. What makes this situation particularly concerning is that the same employee who checked me out also inspected the vehicle after I returned it. I watched her drive the vehicle to the back of the facility for the cleaning crew. I immediately told her that I had left my Cartier sunglasses inside the vehicle. I was then told that the vehicle had already been rented to another customer. I spoke with the manager and was told that Hertz would contact me if the sunglasses turned up. I waited a week and returned to the location again to follow up. I was once again told that they would contact me. It has now been approximately two weeks, and I still have not received a single call or update. These weren't ordinary sunglasses. I have owned these vintage Cartier sunglasses for approximately 20 years. I purchased them on my first trip to Miami, so they have significant sentimental value to me as well as monetary value. I am not accusing any particular employee of stealing them because I don't have proof of that. However, I find it very difficult to understand how sunglasses hanging from the sun visor could go unnoticed during the vehicle inspection and cleaning process, especially considering that I reported them almost immediately. At this point, I expected Hertz to conduct a serious investigation, including checking their inspection and cleaning records, lost-and-found procedures, and determining whether the next renter found the sunglasses. Instead, I have been left waiting with no communication. I hope Hertz management sees this review and takes the situation seriously. I am asking for accountability, a proper investigation, and the return of my sunglasses if they can be located. This experience has been extremely disappointing.

Our Enterprise rental ended up lasting about a month longer than our insurance would cover. Unfortunately, there was a scarcity of rental cars in the area, and our car had a bad smell, which never went away after two months, and a weak battery in the key fob, which caused us to lock ourselves out of the car on July 4 (costing $70 to get opened by a service). HOWEVER ... T-Jay's paid our rental that our insurance didn't cover (thanks T-Jay's!) AND... Enterprise promptly replaced the key fob battery for us. AND...when we returned our rental car, the branch manager asked us what they could do to make up for the smelly car, key fob problem, and the extra time we had it.
