When I picked up the car, the man mentioned bringing it back that day. I told him I'd be on my way out of the country and needed one way so I rented a car for one way with same day drop off at Logan Airport. He said the rate I was quoted was low. That's what I was quoted. Why not then negotiate? There was obviously a problem. BUT, I just said the car wasn't coming back here or today, I needed one way, drop off at Logan on the same day. He printed the paperwork and handed me my keys. The car with full tank was returned that day to Logan--October 14th. On the 18th, I was charged $758.77 for a weekly rental with a failure to return it to the same place. A four hour rental. He knew I thought I was renting one way, same day rental return to Logan. Why not renegotiate my contract before sending me? I have a public presence and will share this as often as I am able. I'll do whatever else I can. There is NO reason to EVER rent a car from this Hertz. The could have made a good amount of money with an ethical rental. I should have read everything. I know that. Do you? We had a very clear five sentence interaction and 4 hour car ride that cost this much. 758.77. Thieves. This was intentional. I was the first customer in the morning with no one waiting. So slick. When I firmly stated I just wanted to pay for the single wash, he told me "okay, that's stupid," shoved my card and receipt through my window, and walked away. To top it all off, when I got to my destination, I realized the quality of the wash itself was incredibly poor. High-pressure sales tactics are one thing, but insulting customers and delivering a sub-par product is entirely another. Management needs to seriously review their frontline training.
