This is my second week having to rent a car for work at this airport. The cars are never clean. I found old potatoes and papers from the last rental. The front end needed to be aligned on the car. This has been a complete nightmare. I have 3 more weeks of renting with them and I honestly would rather pay out of pocket and go with another company. The desk representatives are not friendly. During the pandemic, the people renting should feel safe about renting cars, but it's clear to see that they do not clean as they should. read more

Avis - This is part of the paper and other mess that was stuck in between the seats. - Car Rental Near Me - Boston, Massachusetts

I frequently rent cars in the Boston area and this is the worst location I have been to. Don't use this place. Save your time, save your money. Find a car rental location you can access from the T and go there instead. I usually use options in Kendall, Central, and Harvard. The line is long and slow (40 minute wait). I reserved an SUV and they didn't have one, so I was given a pickup truck. It had stained seats and smelled like sweaty body. To compensate for giving me the wrong vehicle, I was offered a free tank of gas. However, when returning the vehicle I was charged $240 for having an empty gas tank. There is no dedicated customer service, so I had to go stand in the long line again. Another 40 minutes. At the counter they immediately recognized the mistake and characterized it as "typical" for the employee who had helped me initially. My $240 was refunded and they were apologetic, though not at all concerned that this mistake was made. Instead they just made fun of their coworker. I'm not going to rent here again. read more

I fly in from Tampa at 9:30 Thursday night, went to check in to pick up my car. The customer service was awful, very rude you can tell she don't like her job, Nobody guided me to my car I had to go look for it. Really? Nobody showed me how to use the push button started. I couldn't even find the lock key until the next day. Under the passengers seat was the Key. Also found a bottle of Pepsi under drivers side seat, car was not cleaned, On top of that 16.00 in Toll fees? NEVER AGAIN read more

My boyfriend and I returned our rental car to this Avis location. What can I say, other than the fact that customer service here is HORRIBLE! I mean, seriously bad. So bad, I felt like punching the dude that was helping us. While in our rental car, we had a little incident where the bumper of the car scraped a wall. All it did was scuff up the paint -- no real dents or anything. I work in a car collision center, and I know that repairing what happened to the car would cost about $300-400 tops. All they'd have to do is scuff where the paint came off and spray on paint and it'd be good to go again. The guy at Avis made is sound like we had completely tore off the whole bumper and that repairing the damage would cost hundreds, if not thousands, of the big green bucks. This really made me upset since he kept going on about how bad the damage was. We get it, we effed up! Get on with it..... As this was going on, another customer came up to ask the guy that was helping us a question about her bill that wasn't explained to her right and she felt like she was overcharged. The Avis guy than (mid sentence with us), turned to her and said "you're wrong, we billed you right". You NEVER tell a customer that. The lady was visibly upset and she was getting more upset by the minute. As this ordeal was going down, my boyfriend and I were attempting to get our car straighten out and leave since our flight was coming up soon. About 20 minutes after we got there, we finally did leave, but it was a painful 20 minutes full of disappointment and frustration. On a side note -- when my boyfriend's parents returned their rental to the same location the next day, they were there almost an hour due to an Avis employee screw up. I guess the mileage on the car was entered wrong in the system when they took the car and Avis tried to say they drove about 5k in a weeks time (totally untrue!) and wanted to charge them extra for excess mileage. This whole ordeal made them get to the airport within minutes of when their flight was scheduled to take off. Totally uncalled for! I would never recommend this Avis location to anyone! They are just horrid and worst customer service ever! Beware! read more

Watch your charges. They sneak in fees and make no mention of it. Only when I reviewed the signing pad and mention it did he remoce the fees and I prepaid. read more

Avoid Avis at Boston airport. I had horrendous rental experience at this location. The guys there behave more like shady operators than legit business people. I prepaid a mid-size for 4 days at $111. When I picked up the car, the agent upgraded the car without my explicit approval --- he asked if I'd prefer a Nissan Altima or some Honda. He neither mention upgrade nor the additional charge of $50 for the Nissan. (I had no idea what car size the Altima is then.) However, the agent did confirm, when asked, $111 is all that I'll pay if I return the car on time with a full tank of gas. When I returned the car, I discovered the covert upgrade and complained to the manager (Mr. G.). Either he was in complicit or he was insensitive, ineffective, and incompetent. For some dubious reasons, he made me wait while he searched for the original rental contract (as I had packed mine away). I had explained to him that I won't knowingly pay $50 upgrade on a $111 prepaid rental. Despite repeated pleas to waive the charge and let me catch my flight, he left me at the counter while he went to the back room searching for the rental contract. After 30 minutes, he couldn't find the contract, but yet refused to waive the $50 charge. (I almost missed my flight.) He promised to e-mail me a resolution the following morning. Not surprisingly, he didn't follow through. I called the Avis HQ customer service. The Avis representative was apologetic and promptly agreed to credit my account. She did mention that it is how they upgrade your car --- by offering you a bigger car (without mentioning upgrade or additional charge?). Some words of advice, if you rent from them: 1) Scrutinize the rental contract line by line (watch out for circles on the contract). Don't believe what they tell you. 2) Check the car for scratches before leaving the lot, and have them noted on your contract. If you run into problems with them: 1) Share your experience on Yelp to warn others. 2) Call Avis HQ customer service (1-800-352-7900). 3) If necessary, write to Avis HQ and file a complain with Boston BBB. Have your credit card company charge back (using your letters as supporting materials). Better still, avoid Avis at Boston Airport. read more

When my mother went in the wrong direction while returning her car, she was told she needed to learn how to read.

In my business travels I've been to some pretty bad Avis's (would the plural be "Avi?") but this is one of the better ones. For starters, it was much cheaper than the Hertz across the street. Who knows why. Though we prefer Hertz, the lower cost here made it a no-brainer. Nearly all the staff here were very friendly, though we did encounter one zombie-like employee when we had an issue with our car return. However, a quick talk to the manager solved the problem. When we were boarding our flight we realized we had left a CD (part of an audio book from the library) in the car stereo. Uh oh. We called the same manager we talked to before, and a few days later it arrived in our mailbox at home. Nice!! 4 stars. read more

The worst Avis location I've ever been to! The list of negatives goes on and on. I've been renting from here on a weekly basis over the last 9 months and can tell you that there's not aspect of the experience which is acceptable to anyone's standards. First the pick-up, this seems to be the ONLY location that requires you say your name to the driver (if you're preferred) when you board the bus. What ends up happening is the driver sittign there for about a minute asking each person how to spell their name. This is BEYOND frustrating. Why is this necessary? Don't preferred members provide the time when they will need the car? Don't they also provide the flight which they are taking? So all in all a completely worhtless waste of time. Secondly the actual location. Let me just say that 90% of the time my cars do NOT have an eToll (ezPass) in them. I don't know how many times I've asked this location to add it to my profile, how many times I've asked the manager to make sure that my cars have the ezPass installed and yet, each and every time I'm having to go into the Preferred Center and ask for a different car. On the topic of cars, absolutely the WORST fleet of cars. I think it's a well-known fact that Avis has the worst cars out of all the major chains. This location however, decided to take that concept to a whole new level. Their endless supply of old, crappy, cigarrette-smelling Malibus is their pride and joy. The staff isn't very helpful and more often than not rude. Specifically on the return trip back when the bus full of people needs to get going to the terminals to make their flight, the bus driver and the "manager" are perfectly ok just letting the bus sit there because "it's not time to leave quiet yet." Meanwhile, there are 3 other buses right behind this one, so there's really no reason why this bus shouldn't go. This happens EVERY WEEK. Please listen to this advice, DO NOT rent from here. read more

Such a low rating?? I am happy to write, that was not my experience! I had no issues picking up my car. The woman at the counter was efficient, and definitely did her job. It took a bit to get her to smile. But I guess it is not really their job to be friendly, only to get you in a car and get you on your way. The return was simple enough. Logan has signs to help you find the car rental area at every twist and turn. And there are a lot of twists and turns!! Once arriving at the return area, just pulled the car up, had it checked out and headed to the airport. Nice and easy. Nothing special, just simple and functional. read more

Prepaid $97 for a one day rental and they had so many hidden scam fees it ended up costing us $300. They charged us for 3 days. Make sure you call to contest. They also told us the gas wasn't filled when we filled it completely at the Shell that's literally next door to them. read more

The worst part of my trip was the beginning and end here at Avis Rental Car. When I got here they gave me a SUV with New York plates. I searched for the new trade in lot that Avis told me about, but NO lot was to be found and the workers had the 'take it or leave it' attitude. I had a bad feeling about this car and boy was I right. I was followed by every law enforcement agency starting in Boston MA on through to CT and back!!!!. Every time I looked in my rear view mirror there was another cop car zooming up and running my plates! Getting in and out of here was the worst and when I had to return I blew about three hours trying to get back to turn in my car, but due to construction and a MA Highway Patrol car parked right at the entrance I could not get back! I finally broke down and parked in the cell phone lot and called them, and even then I had an thirty minutes to get there! Thanks for ruining all my plans for a nice dinner in Boston! Next time I will bring a load of attitude to deal with theirs! I got on the courtesy bus for a lift to the Hilton which is at the airport and the driver told me they do not go there any longer! Another hour delay as I had to get off at the airport and figure out how to hike to the Hilton! Would not recommend or want to repeat! read more

Rented a vehicle from them after waiting in line for like an hour got to the counter asked the worker a couple different times where we return the vehicle kept on ignoring my question told us where to go to get the vehicle when we went out to the vehicle noticed that it was covered in bird poop everywhere The side windows the back windows even the windshield plus the car it's self. The vehicle was older it had like 50,000 miles on it and at some point it was an accident the driver side front bumper at the bottom was all smashed up and then along the door frame was dented all along of it. Since it was such a pain to get the vehicle from the airport we dropped it off at a different office right by the airport well they charged an extra $30 for a one-way fee for taking it somewhere else which I have never been charged at through enterprise or hertz after leaving a complaint somebody sent me a email from the corporation saying that's not how they do business said give them my number and they would call me to make it up well they never did so again they don't care about customers.. read more

The line was short when I showed up, that was the only plus. I was handed the paperwork for the car, which, luckily was there. But I should've known that they didn't even bother to clean the car AT ALL considering the last renter's receipt was sitting in the front. Uhm. Michael Romero, your company gets a way better rate than mine! Anyway, I was told by one of the employees who was trying to give me directions that "Well... If you do need to pay tolls, just use the pass in the front of the car..." 10 minutes later I get on the highway following the horrible directions I get from Bing Maps only to find out that I'm on a toll road and for some crappy reason, you have two options: Pay by pass OR cash only. Cash only?! I have like $1.35 in my wallet and that's all I have. Crap. Where is that pass thingy? Oh, wait, my car doesn't have one. I get to the front of the line and the toll booth operator is yelling up a storm at me because I don't have cash. Then I get handed a "no cash violation" ticket. Dammit Avis! Couldn't you people tell me that a toll was required to get to my destination - and considering you're an airport location and my later understanding was that you have to pay to get out of the airport - that you should make sure ALL your rental cars have an EZ Pass in them? Returning the car was probably the easiest part. We hopped onto the airport shuttle and had to deal with serious attitude from the shuttle driver telling us that we had to collapse our stroller (which doesn't get much smaller, and would require us to then put the big car seat somewhere else anyway). The guy was like, "it's busy" and kept talking about "a full bus". Finally after a lot of convincing, we left the stroller as is with the promise that if for some reason the bus got full, we'd figure it out. The bus never got full. Ever. So what was the big deal again about having a stoller? And even when the busses have been full, I've never had any shuttle driver give me crap about having to disassemble and collapse the stroller. Lame. read more

Don't be fooled by AVIS online giving you the option to prepay for your rental, weeks after you return your car, they will charge the extra amount regardless, completely ignoring your prepay agreement. What was the extra? I got to the vehicle reservation center 2.5 hours before the time I entered for pick up when I reserved online (9:30am instead of 12:00), so they charged me for a FULL EXTRA DAY, but they said nothing about this when I picked up the car, just decided to add it to my credit card three weeks later. Oh, and they will completely review and assign a completely different vehicle for your reservation when they decide on those charges. read more

If you rent a car from Avis at Logan Airport, expect crappy service and a long line. Seriously, every time I come to this place - it has the longest line. No other rental car company at this location has these lines. It also doesn't help that the customer service agents at this location are super slow and disengaged. They come and go as they please even though there is a line out the door. Never renting a car from this location again. I'll use Enterprise or Alamo next time, it will certainly save me a lot of time and money! read more

I rarely write bad reviews - mostly good ones. I'm an easy dude to please and even if things aren't great I'll make the best of it. But here's why I'm giving this place one star: 5 people were ahead of me in line and it took over a half hour to get up there (with five employees at the front). I had already made a reservation online and knew my base fee/quote, and this employee tried to tell me the price was over twice what I was quoted when he gave me the estimate printout. I then realized it was because he had tacked on all these optional services that I never said yes to. He was trying to be slick and thought I wouldn't notice? I didn't sign it until he took them all off. (For the record, my brother ordered the same itinerary I did and his employee did the same thing to him). What if we weren't paying attention? How many old people etc get taken advantage of and end up paying way more? Not cool, Avis. Then I get to the car and I was supposed to have a "mid-sized SUV" and this thing was no bigger than a Prius V. I didn't have time to go back in because since this is at the airport you pick up your car from a giant parking garage that you have to walk a significant distance to get to. After barely being able to fit our luggage in the back, we're 20 minutes into our drive and wondering why our eyes are watering and my wife is sneezing. It's then we see there's a ton (and I mean a TON) of tiny animal hairs (cat? dog? I don't know) all over the seats. Also a used toothbrush in the side door pocket. Obviously this car hadn't been cleaned AT ALL. I have my ten month old baby in the backseat. I wanted to drive back and smack somebody for putting my kid's health at risk. We used the vehicle anyway for the week we had it (had to clean/vacuum it out myself, real fun way to spend vacation time), and upon return I notice the following tacked on "fees" that once again I could not stay and contest because we had a flight to catch: "11.11% Concession recovery Fee = $28.35", "Customer Facility Charge @ $6/day = $42.00", "Energy Recovery Fee = $4.20". The names they give these "fees"are so absurd you can't help but laugh at it. I just don't understand sh*tty customer service. You're a rental car service. You're in high demand. If you're honest and don't try and pull fast ones on people, they'll return to your business and tell others about it. Everybody wins. But you pull sh*t like this, then not only do we not return in the future, but we tell others about it, including reviews like here on Yelp. read more

We usually rent from this Avis location (if you book on Hotwire it's a lot cheaper than their rates) and we never have a problem. I usually just take whatever car they offer us. (We rent a lot of cars...) Since we were driving across the country we wanted a minivan, which according to their website, was going to be a "Chevy Uplander or similar". Now I know that is just a suggestion, and I think I can count on one hand the number of times I actually got the car that was stated on the website, but I hoped this time would be different. Sadly, no. As we pulled up I could see many, many Uplanders on the lot. However, when we went in they tried to give us a Dodge Caravan. Me: "Oh hell no. I'm not driving across the country in a Dodge Caravan." Agent: "That's all we have available" Me: "I can see Uplanders out there. Look, I take every car you give me without hassle. I took the PT Cruiser for crying out loud. Surely I should get some sort of credit for renting that without question." Agent: "I can't send the Uplanders to Arizona." Me: "What? Are they not legal there? I don't get it." By this time my husband had left to try some of the other places in the area. (All were very expensive) After about 5 minutes of clicking the agent suddenly produced a brand new-10 miles on it- Toyota Sienna. The Toyota Sienna is like the Cadillac of minivans. I took it in a heartbeat. I would have to suggest this location because they had never disappointed me in the past and they did come through for us this time. Oh, and that minivan with 10 miles on it was returned with 2900. read more

If I could give this zero stars, I would. First, the counter was completely understaffed. The line for rental was 30 deep and only for Avis/Budget--all other rental counters were speedy. Once I got to the counter the service agent was dismissive and very slow. Maybe the computers were old but gee whiz. Now let's talk about the cars themselves. We were tired --it took 105 minutes from getting off the plane to getting in our rental car. While driving away, we saw that the car Was dirty inside with trash and the gas tank was not full. We tried to add our 24 year old son as an additional driver but were denied. Yet the previous weekend his girlfriend also 24 had been added as an additional driver when her father rented an Avis car. We didn't argue--we were too tired to care at that point. We will never rent from Avis at Logan again--the cost of other rental cars was comparable so we do have a choice. read more

So before we ca,e on the trip I saw the rating for Avis and thought to myself how can this be. A reputable rental car agency with this low of reviews, really. I already had my reservation so it was too late for me to make a change. Well the reviews are all true.the lines were extremely long. Even as a preferred member I had to wait in line to visit the counterforce about 15 minutes, uncool. The car that we were provided could not have been cleaned before we got it. There was dirty tissues in the door pocket and the front window had smeared handprints all over it. The car was a Jeep Compass with over 32,000 miles on it and was absolutely the worst thing to drive. We made it to Portland, Maine where I went directly to the airport and traded it for a different car. Boston was a nightmare, for the rest of this story visit the Portland Maine Avis site they were completely different. read more

Do not rent an Avis or Budget car from Logan Airport. Worst car rental experience I have ever been through. Already an hour into what appears to be at least a 2 hour line on Saturday morning (aka not peak time). There are 100 people in line, about 3 people working across Avis and Budget, and 7 empty counters with no one working. All other car companies here have 2-3 people working and a couple people in line. We pre-paid for our car so have no other options but to wait and lose several hours of vacation time for no reason other than an unwillingness by Avis to properly staff their counter. Looking at comments on Twitter, this appears to be a daily occurrence at this location so Avis has clearly actively decided not to address this problem. Rent from anyone else. I sure wish we did. read more

I actually had a pretty good experience here. Based on the fact that if there are no issues, then it's a good situation. Services like this are supposed to be turn-the-crank. They aren't re-inventing the wheel, they aren't doing something revolutionary, what they are really trying to do is differentiate either on cost, or on service from the next place over....or, as it seems, just trying to keep from shooting themselves in the foot in front of you. I got in, not a preferred member and had to wait probably 5 minutes. not too bad.... and I was out of there in another 5 minutes, in the car and off I go. I should have paid for gas up front as on my trip back to the airport, I dind't see any gas stations... coupled with the fact that I heard they do gas at 3.20 a gallon which is 30 cents cheaper than it is out in Cali. yes... american cars suck... I had a PT cruiser and it was annoying, handled like crap and had no guts.... wait, did I say it was an american car? all I need is a rental car from time to remind me of why I don't buy american cars... my prius handles better. So... 3 stars... yes, they nickel and dime you on stuff and try to upsell, but that's expected from a budget place like this... pay for what you want, and they give you the options to make a conscious decision. read more

Unlike some others who've left reviews, we had the best car rental experience of our lives. I chose Avis because of the price and because of free spouse as a second driver if I joined their Avis Preferred program. I was told when I joined the program that I would have to go to the counter so they could check my ID, since this would be my first time using the Preferred card. So we landed in Boston and took the shuttle to the rental car area. There was no line at the counter (luck of the draw, I presume). The gal there looked me up and told me that I did not really need to stop at the counter, and sent me to the preferred counter in the garage. Again there was no line. The gal there looked up my info, verified that we didn't want any extra insurance or gas or toll options (absolutely no pressure!), then upgraded our car to an SUV for free. Normally I don't take upgrades because I prefer cars that get better gas mileage, but this time I knew we would be transporting many people and things (daughter graduating from college). We spent more time walking from the shuttle to the garage than we did at both counters combined. The car was clean and undented. (I didn't care much for the color, but what can you do?) The return was too easy... literally. I looked around for an attendant to check us out, but there was none. You just leave the car with the keys in it and head for the shuttle back to the airport. I got an email a couple days later with the final invoice showing the correct amount. Done! read more

Permanently banned. Avis is my company's selected rental car agency - so, coming to Boston every week for 4 months I had to rent from them. What a headache - in the four months of weekly car rentals, I had issues with their cars and service almost weekly. Some examples: 1. Flat tires of cars in their lot 2. Engine light on 3. No record of my arrival (yes, I had confirmations) 4. Running one bus for pickup (a 45 minute wait at the curb watching 3-5 hertz busses go by) 5. Their policy of dumping an entire can of nasty potpourri scent in each car to coverup God knows what) In violation of our company's policy we've all switched. You are warned. read more

How am I not surprised to see an average 2 stars for this place? I made a reservation for a compact car about 5 days before I flew into Boston. I got in around 1am and made it to the new rental terminal around 2am. There was no line and that was the only upside. The girl that helped us was clearly less than interested in assisting customers. She was polite but not at all helpful or cheerful. She was more interested in what time her coworker was leaving. It took her a solid 10 minutes just to get to the point of swiping my debit card. When I made the reservation online, I opted to pay when I picked up the vehicle. When she swiped my card and said it was declined, I was confused. I absolutely had the $216 total that was supposed to be charged. She never told me that there was ALSO an additional $200 hold (yes, nearly DOUBLE the amount of the reservation). I asked why she was charging me that much and she just said it was standard and that the company notifies the customer of this hold. I looked at my confirmation email and it was not there. The only thing that might have made sense was the "Some extra fees may apply" tidbit in tiny font at the very bottom of the page. I told her that there was nothing about a hold in the email and she basically just dismissed me. My boyfriend decided he would put it on his credit card and then the girl had to go back and redo the ENTIRE RESERVATION. I couldn't believe that this was going to take another 10 minutes AT LEAST. While we were waiting for her to go through the entire process again, she kept making unhelpful comments like, "there's no hold if you pay when you make the reservation." Yes, that would have been helpful to know AT THE TIME if the company had PROVIDED THIS INFORMATION, which they did not. Aboslutely ridiculous. Apparently my cousin had the same issues a few hours before with Budget (same company). So I'll be using neither Avis nor Budget anytime again in the future. Enterprise has a customer for life with me. read more

Picking up the car at the Avis Preferred counter took almost two hours. We then only had the car for 3 days and had prepaid $902. One of our flights changed so we discussed a later drop off time with the agent (6 hours add'l) and were told that it would be no problem. Then after we dropped the car off we were charged an additional $600. I've called customer service 4 times and nobody has a valid explanation and I have received zero input from a supervisor, so I guess I'm just out $1,500 for a 3 day car rental. USE ANYTHING ELSE AT THIS AIRPORT. NONE OF THE OTHER CAR PLACES HAD THIS ISSUE!!! This is the worst rental car experience I've ever had. I thought the line to get the car was bad...the return was absolute hell. Other than the fact that the car itself was fine, it was horrible. They are counting on the fact that you're running to your flight and won't check receipts. So there's the obvious...the line to get the car was over an hour long. When you get off a plane with kids, this is horrid. I've never experienced anything like this. Our agent was friendly enough, but he said it's "always this way" so he doesn't care. FINALLY, we got the car. But....returning was the icing on the cake. They had so many cars coming back that they had to start a fourth line for me. So so many cars. I had to wait for a person to come check me out, but that didn't bother me overly much. Clearly they are doing their best. I didn't have a plane to get on...I was going into the city. BUT when the nice woman handed me my receipt, it clearly came up for $437.50 rather than the $280 I'd been quoted. That's not okay! It's NEVER happened before. The woman told me to go to the customer service and pointed off to the right. HELLO HOUR LONG LINE again. And I wasn't sure I was in the right place. Some people seemed to be renting cars. I asked the person in front of me if I could ask them a question and she'd hold my place in line. She said that she would and asked me to ask a question for her. Cool...no problem. So I walk to the front of this 70-minute line and VERY politely stand to the side at the front waiting for the agent to have a moment free. He, a younger African-American man said: "Do you not see the line?" Okay, so my hackles go up a little so I snipped a little but remained calm. "Yes, turns out my eyesight is fine. I had a question. Is this the line for customer service?" He says "no...it's down there" and points to the other end of the garage. I said "funny, because she just pointed me here." and he shook his head and said "Nope, nothing I can do for you here." I turn around to walk back and the three people in the front of the line who don't know one another all chorus "DO NOT GET OUT OF THIS LINE!" I was surprised and stopped. One man said "that other hour-long line is NOT customer service. He's bullshitting you. LYING to your face. Trust me, don't get out of this line!" I looked back at the guy and he's just looking at us. Doesn't care at all. Thank god for these people. I've never been lied to this way. It's just unconscionable. Over an hour later, the nice female agent refunded me the money...didn't bother explaining. Said this is all she does all day long. HORRIBLE. Do not choose Avis or Budget. read more

Thank you to LInda with Avis at Boston Logan! There are so many negative reviews, Linda saved the day for a vacation we had planned after Covid. We had reserved a car with Enterprise back in April to drive from Boston down through New York ending in Nashville to fly home to California. The day came and no car and no recourse with Enterprise. We went to the airport and Linda got us fixed up. A little more expensive but that was expected given the airport and not reserving ahead of time. Linda worked with us to try to get a lower price! Thanks so much, this will make me choose Avis in the future! read more

Absolutely filthy car; rented late at night and couldn't see it clearly. The next day, in daylight, whoa! Very stained seats in both front and back seats. Trash (yes trash) in the back seat. Funk/dust/grime everywhere. read more

The customer service representative was incredibly helpful and made a very stressful situation much better than it could have been. The line was long and took awhile but the rep made it all worthwhile. The car was nice and clean and great on gas (Toyota 4runner). Would recommend. read more

Arrived late on a Saturday after 10 hours of travel, I asked the agent if they had a Prius, he said they did, normally would be additional charge but he could give it to me for same price (at least that is what I heard, I was exhausted), after leaving airport I see a note on the contract in scrawled handwriting, $10 per day upgrade, which did not make me happy but I did sign so figured no way would they honor my original quote...but wait!! There is a happy ending!! Upon returning the car, I told my story to Cherylle the agent on duty, (that is how she spells her name) she removed the additional charge, apologized and we had a nice chat about how she ended up with the name Cherylle instead of Cheryl. Whether a car rental experience is easy or difficult all depends on the agent, I am hoping my next experience at AVIS is a positive one.. Another plus - AVIS does not charge for spouse/partner as additional driver,Hertz gives you the run around depending on what country you are in, whether or not you are Hertz Gold, AAA etc etc....too much red tape.. read more

Over an hour wait in line to get to an agent. The agents take their time and are in no rush to help the customers. Bad experience in general. read more

I wish I could give zero stars. Pathetic service. Have been in line for over an hour and still only about halfway through the line. People ahead of us said it has taken them two hours to get through the line. All of the other rental car stations have either no one in line or just a couple in line and they are moving quickly. The worst experience ever! read more

Huge line with no agent for a while and then one agent. All the other rental companies had adequate staff. People waiting up to 2 hours. Nice customer service. read more

Horrible wait times. Extremely understaffed. Worst experience for a rental car. RENT ELSEWHERE.

the service is HORRIFIC!!!! I am trying to get a car from you and the guy at the counter was extremely rude!!!! People kept leaving this line because this guy's attitude was simply unacceptable. Rude, defiant, and disrespectful. If you don't like you job then why are you even here!! If I had zero stars i would leave zero stars. Avis if you are reading this, YOU ARE LOSING CUSTOMERS because of this bad service! read more
