This recommendation was for a rainforest that was closer and more isolated, so we'd essentially have the whole forest to ourself. The drive itself was rather frightening because the forest is on top of a mountain, so the drive though beautiful was winding and hard on the driver. Once we got to the forest, it was clear why it wasn't popular. There are really no spectacular views once you get into the forest. The trees hide what you'd expect to see at such heights, which makes the hiking even more tedious and less enjoyable. There are also an abundance of both rocks and slippery leaves, so you really should wear some hiking friendly shoes. In terms of the trails themselves, they were rather fun and enjoyable. There were some tricky climbs and some peaceful strolls. Our goal was the cave that was at the other side of the forest. It was maybe an hour trek (assuming timely pacing) to get from the entrance to the cave. There is a rickety wooden staircase that takes you down. It's a little dank down there and you definitely need a flashlight, but it's pretty cool to see the rock formations in the cave. There are also sleeping bats if you go in the daytime, and you can see and hear them. However, for me, it definitely wasn't cool enough to warrant the hike. There are no gems and no real interesting features. It paled in comparison to the caves you can find the US (e.g. San Antonio caves) All in all. It's a good place for a jog or to hike for the sake of hiking. It's also good for outdoorsy people who would like a more quiet and personal experience. But it's definitely not rewarding for beginners.

The place is absolutely beautiful and serene! If you want a place in nature to get away. This is…read moreit!! Definitely recommending to all my friends

There used to be trolleys where they drive you up but they no longer have them so you need to walk the whole way there. Heading to the caves, you are walking down so it's pretty easy. Going back you're heading up which is quite a workout! But there are places with seats along the way if you need a break to catch your breath. Our tour guide "Amy" was really knowledgeable and kind. The whole trip took about an hour and half so we weren't rushed and had plenty of time to take pictures. It is recommended to wear sneakers because in the caves, it's wet so the floors get really slippery.

And then its into the cave itself. The cave is just amazing, and WAY bigger than I would have imagined. There are nine stations where you can listen to an auditour, but also do listen to your guide. Ours was awesome and kept finding vinegaroons. We didn't see any bats, but the hurricane a few years ago mostly wiped them out, and I guess they haven't rebounded yet. :( Still, there were.. signs of many bats. Pro Tip, they warn you that you may get wet. You probably won't, but still be prepared. I nearly took this to mean "wear beach shoes." Don't. Wear good shoes, and make sure they're slip resistant.

You'll be hiking, body rafting, cliff jumping, rock sliding, and everything in between! I cannot stress enough how unforgettable this experience was. Ricardo and his team are beyond incredible. They definitely made this adventure even more exhilarating. They are very welcoming and very fun to be around. The tour even includes food before and after the adventure, which was awesome. I definitely recommend doing this tour if you go to Puerto Rico! Definitely worth my time and money. Amazing experience of a lifetime! *Take hiking shoes and if you don't have any, RENT some from them. You will be sorry if you don't! Also take long sleeve shirt and leggings if possible, you'll get tons of scratches if your arms and legs are uncovered!

The entire tour from the maintenance of the private trails to the coordination of activities was expertly handled. Throughout the day I did things not experienced for decades like jumping off 40ft waterfalls, repelling down rock faces, and body sliding down natural water slides. I brought my young son along for the adventure and here again these guys shined in a big way, Fernando specifically paid extra special attention to his safety but also making sure he had a great time. The expertise in safety and the detailed oriented planning put into this adventure allowed me to do what I came to do - have fun, without fearing injury or harm to my young Son. These caliber of activities (some might call them "extreme") would not usually instill such a feeling of calm and safety in me - or most people in general. This was the best tour of any kind that I've ever been on. If you love nature, hiking, andwater do it. It's the best money you'll spend on a tour.
