This is a long one. My girlfriend and I had purchased two vouchers for an adventure back in late 2019 and had scheduled for early 2020. Then you know what happened. The COVID pandemic came and we had to cancel our plans for the moment. The organizer of the Aventureo adventures had gracefully extended the validity period of any purchased vouchers until March 2021 so we waited it out.
Then as the new deadline approached, I attempted to contact them several times during a course of about two weeks via phone calls, emails, and submitting several reservation requests through their website and I only got a response to a text message saying I would be called back. That call never came.
After several more failed attempts at reaching out to them, the deadline was barely a day or two away. The only way we got their attention, was by my girlfriend leaving negative reviews on several sites. They did not hesitate to call me then during that same night. This is where our terrible woes truly began.
The person who called me was upset about the reviews (understandibly), because I had "only tried to reach out to them for 1 day", which I clarified that it had been about two weeks of attempted communication. He then said something like "yeah yeah, I understood" and gave me a half-hearted apology, which was made worthless when he decided to claim that it was inappropriate and unfair of us to leave such reviews without having experienced their service, and proceeded to try to guilt me by saying they were a small business that relied a lot on positive feedback and were under a lot of rush from other reservations. I said I understood and personally apologized for having taken such measures and promised to have the reviews removed, but that they needed to improve their communication for future reference. We set up a date finally and the reviews were removed. Well, not fast enough because we were busy. My girlfriend received a phone call shortly after asking to remove the reviews or they would not accept our voucher. She had already removed most of them. He had an attitude with her as well as with me during my first call.
The newly appointed date had to be cancelled because of bad weather and river flooding. No problem, I told them to call me back to reschedule. It never happened. I had to call them like 10 times to finally get ahold of the guy again and reschedule. Unfortunately we had to cancel that appointment as well because of an incoming storm. That was the last time I was able to achieve contact with anybody. After that time, I tried many, many times to call and contact them via text, email and even on Facebook messenger to reschedule, this time without success.
So basically they stole our money. We both just lost interest and gave up trying because of this terribly sour experience and decided to drop some bad reviews again, except adding way more details this time. In summary: these guys' behavior was unacceptable. They acted disrespectfully, unprofessionally, unethically and irresponsibly. I don't care if the business is local, or small. Take some responsibility and BE A BETTER BUSINESS. This review stays here, because no service was even given. read more
