DO NOT LIVE HERE! If…read moreI could give this place zero stars, I would. The maintenance team and office manager are professional and willing to work with tenants, but upper management especially Area Manager Elisa is the reason this place is unbearable. From the moment I arrived at the office, it was clear she didn't want to speak with me one-on-one. She refused to meet with me in her office and instead racially profiled me, constantly reminding me that cameras were everywhere, as if I were a threat. She then excused herself from the conversation, closed the office door, took a picture of me through the office window, and shut the blinds for humiliating and completely unprofessional behavior. To make matters worse, she didn't even read my initial email before hastily looping in others to handle the situation instead of addressing it herself. Elisa's dismissiveness, lack of basic customer service skills, and blatant disrespect for tenants make this an all-around horrible place to live. Don't walk RUN from this place!

I recently had the pleasure of speaking with Dijah, the leasing agent at Hanover Northgate…read moreApartments, and I was absolutely impressed by her high level of client service. She was incredibly professional, courteous, and responsive, and she went above and beyond to make sure that I had the information on any available apartments and ensure my preferences matched with any available apartments. This was my first apartment search, Dijah was quick to respond to my email and answer all of my questions. She was very knowledgeable about the surrounding area in Oakland, and she was able to give me some great recommendations for the area. I was particularly impressed by Dijah's description of the building amenities and the variety of floorplans. She was able to tell me all about the different features, such as the gym, roof deck and I believe you can take a virtual tour of the apartments and the building....(but don't quote me!) But what really stood out to me was Dijah's warm and inviting personality. She made me feel like I was her only client, and she was happy to help. I would highly recommend contacting Dijah at the NorthGate Hanover to anyone looking for a new apartment in Oakland. Here are some specific examples of Dijah's excellent customer service: Dijah responded to my email within in less than 24 hours, even though it was sent outside of business hours and called me back the same day to answer my questions about the building amenities. I would definitely consider renting an apartment from Hanover Northgate, and I would look forward to working with Dijah in the future. She is a true asset to the property, and she makes the entire leasing process a pleasure. Cheers, Rod Cooper (Apartment Hunter)

Sign contract/least it had a move in special.... 3 years later it's up touching 3k, shooting, fighting outside the building from tenants, First Friday crowds yelling from who I won't say but it's caught on vide, bipping cars, parked residents sleeping in thei car screaming, broken elevator to where you have to take the stairs because it's only 1, which has happened numerous times. When this happens you have to enter from the side of the building with whatever you carry. The garage traps your car when it's down keep you hostage from work and other things, Beside your monthly bills you pay taxes on everything, you're being charged to pay for common areas in the building rather you use them or not in addition if you want to give a function in them it's a rental charge and if you cancel it there is no refund it's applied towards your monthly charges, and where you pay your rent in the portal please review it because it will charge you multiple times for the thing and if you question it the answer is let's look at the ledger in the office which differs. so print out the portal and review past and current rent logs because just like I did some of my payments wasn't showing. But certified checks don't lie!! WELCOME HOME, sit back and enjoy the run

It is a safe and cozy apartment complex located on the border of Pleasant Hill and Concord. Rarely did I ever have any maintenance issues and when I did, management and maintenance were on top. Even minor issues like parking, Leanna always made sure I felt heard and addressed the issue that day. Thomas has been very helpful with move-in, holding packages for me when I was traveling, answering emails, etc. However, he has zero authority to do much else. Example, within one year, our building was out of hot water three times, once for multiple days. One night in a hotel was offered to be covered but nothing for anyone who couldn't go to a hotel. Absurd. The property is very loud if you face the courtyard - all hard services means two kids playing sound like 20. The carpet in the hallways was replaced with fake wood flooring, making the hallways an echo chamber. And today, I found out that my bike was stolen from the garage. I really wanted to like it here and was excited to live here and be near the walking path and stores, etc. Now I cannot wait to move out.
