When I first started flying with Avelo it was good. I had to fly numerous times from DE to TPA because my brother in law is terminally ill. the last 3 trips have been terrible. Delayed over and over and this eve I f was the icing on the cake. we were delayed 6 times due to storms. The palne was grounded in CT due to storms. We were promised the flight would go out no matter what but after sitting the the airport from 4pm until 11: 30 only to be told now that it was cancelled is horrible. Now I miss my Grandaughters graduation party because it will be over by the time I get there. I'm not going to fly or recommend Avelo anymore to people. I'm thoughrly disgusted with it. read more

Avelo plus is a total rip off Travel documents don't match credit card name they go by your credit card name on plus a travel documents by your reservation they don't match and will give you a discount. It doesn't recognize it. Customer service as I can't do anything about it then will give me my money back. It's unusable. They said I have to call them back every time I wanna book something which took me like three days to get a hold of them. This really sucks. It's a total rip off. Don't do it. read more

So my sister in law on fort Myers is getting married this Friday. And I needed a quick direct flight option to fort Myers. Id never heard of this airline and when it showed direct Flights to and from and when I wanted to fly I decided to give them a try. The whole thing was automated and never spoke to anyone until I met the pilot for flight XP 601 RDU to Fort Myers on the parking shuttle bus along with other crew. He and the crew were so nice and friendly and sharing about the trip and the new airline flying out of here. They were great ambassadors for the brand for sure. My bag check was easy and smooth. Boarding was a piece of cake very easy and smooth. Even the typical speech about flying on board has some personality and it was nice to see the staff so cheerful, happy, helpful and smooth. I will Fly these folks again I'm sure. read more

I live in New Haven, so Avelo Airlines at Tweed airport is very convenient. However, the 3 flights I booked through them (beginning Nov 2024-present) had constant delays. Hopefully this is an issue they can work to improve, otherwise it's truly not worth the low costs when you're sitting in the airport for 7 hours. I will add that communication is efficient..it's just usually bad news. read more

Our first experience with Avelo. Cost was a little less than half what AA would charge. First flight departed 20" late, but that happens with all airlines. Return flight departed 1 hour and 15 minutes late ("waiting for luggage from connecting flights"). Due to poor ceiling or visibility we were diverted to Raleigh-Durham. This is about a 3 hour drive from Concord, the scheduled return airport. I understand that Avelo doesn't control the weather, but they do have the capability (and, I think, the obligation), to assist passengers with effects of the diversion. That didn't happen. The information we were given was literally "you're on your own." I can live with Avelo charging for everything, that's their business model. I can't live with the lack of assistance in RDU. I will say that our baggage was delivered perfectly, the seats were comfortable, and the flights routine (until the end of the last one). Finally, there is no customer service. When I called the CS number I was told I was 550th in line and it would be about 10 hours to speak with someone (and if they had to do much of anything it would be $25/service!). read more

I would give it zero if I could. Originally we started in North Carolina going to Florida. The desk person had said my carry on bag met the measurement requirements for not having to pay which was great, however on the trip back from Florida to North Carolina the desk lady had said the bag didn't meet the measurement requirement and that we had to pay $65 for the bag. The lady proceeded to pull the bag off the blue mark making it go on the yellow then proceeded to make us pay the $65 when in North Carolina they checked and it was fine. Avelo is extremely scammy and will do anything to make some extra money. My family and friends will never be flying Avelo again. read more

I hated every second of that goddamn ride. a baby barfed RIGHT BEHIND MY SEAT and i still had to SIT THERE! wtf avelo. fyi make your passangers where closed toe shoes I DONT WANT TO SEE A GROWN WOMENS TOES! lip syncing the safety protocols...really? get better flight attendants. i couldn't even understand them it was so distracting. Terrible service. ZERO STARS!! Continuous delays for no reason!!! No notifications on continuous delays you have to go online and check your self! They will not text you or update you at all! Super unfriendly counter / check- in staff. My bag was 4 oz over the weight. Counter representative made me take the 4 oz out. I will never use this "budget" airline again. My ticket was actually expensive after you have to buy your seat, carry on and checked bag. Save your self the hassles of terrible airline service! read more

WORST AIRLINE EVER! Flight from Tampa to Raleigh delayed 5 times. They could not cancel because they have no flights the following day - they dont fly on certain days. No apology. No compensation. Finally I was advised after reaching out to customer service multiple times that it was an air traffic control issue. That was a lie and just a way for them to get around compensation. I was told my matter would be escalated and I never heard from them again. No beverage and $40 for a carry on later I am going back to Delta where at least I can get a coke and have inflight entertainment. After all the upcharges you are PAYING THE SAME AND GETTING LESS. NO FRIENDLY SKIES HERE!! read more

Our flight was from RDU to Ft Lauderdale. One good thing our flight was on scheduled. Check in counter was not friendly and unable to help with any changes without paying extra fees. Planes are old and dirty. Do not expect any type of great service from Avelo. Do not book any flight longer than 2 hours. Seats are uncomfortable and tight. read more

Our flight last night on 1/12/24 was canceled because the flight crew timed out and the replacement did not want to take off even though Spirit and Southwest managed to get airborne without incident. We were told that there was bad weather in Manchester, NH which was a lie. Our flight is rescheduled for Saturday and now we are sitting in the plane with a 45 minute delay because we don't have a pilot. It maybe cheap but it's not worth the price if you can't get to your destination. read more

LISTEN TO THE BAD REVIEWS. I thought I was that one lucky sob that wouldn't deal with delays or anything and boy was a I wrong. Flight was delayed 3 hours with minimal explanation or communication, by 5:25 pm board time is just now pushing back from the gate at 10pm. I bought a whole row of seats for myself, wife and son, my wife and son ended up not coming with me on this flight so they stuck more passengers next to me even tho I paid for the seats. Do not think you're going to be that one lucky traveler that doesn't run into issues with them. You will regret it. read more

By far my worst flight experience. My scheduled take off time from HVN was 5:40pm. Around that time we were told that the flight would be delayed to around 7:30 take off. The flight was they re-delayed multiple times ranging from at take off at 6:30, 7:50, 7:00, and back to 7:50. When I asked the staff what was going on the response was "we are doing the best we can", which I understand; however when you have an entire flights worth of individuals confused on why so many delays, a true explanation should not be that hard to provide - whether it be weather, plane issues, etc. the people deserve to know. Avelo Airlines staff are horrible with communication and delays. In addition, their check in process is awful as they check people in by their flights instead of their place in line causing more backup and confusion. I am now boarding my 5:40 flight at 8:07pm still with no explanation of why it was delayed. Avelo might be a cheap way to travel to certain places via a direct flight, but they are not worth the confusion or hassle. read more
