    10/6/22 - I haven't flown in 13 years, so I was anxious to say the least. Moving thru the airport was a bit daunting too, but it didn't take long to get to the Delta gate. We had an early morning flight, so we had just enough time to relax before they started boarding the plane. I got a window seat and they have tvs to watch now in the headrest in front of you. They didn't have that back in the day, so that was a plus for me. It was a 4 hr flight, so I watched about 2 movies. They gave out snacks and drinks twice during my flight. They also gave headphones. The only thing I didn't like was how dirty the inside of the plane was. Dirt and spills all over. All the money they make, can't they clean/disinfect the plane??? Anyway, my experience wasn't that bad, but it wasn't the best either. I was blessed to make it to Vegas & the flight only ran into a few bumps as we flew. I will be flying back tomorrow, so I pray that things go smoothly again.

    Delta is one of the airlines I fly the most. My wife and I mostly have good experiences with Delta, including out of and into RDU (Raleigh-Durham International Airport). Less than two weeks ago, I had one of my worst Delta experiences out of RDU. I wasn't surprised because, as has been well-documented (https://www.nytimes.com/2022/08/17/podcasts/the-daily/airlines-summer-travel-delay-cancellations.html), summer 2022 has been rough for air travel. That's especially been the case for RDU. According to FlightAware data for the period May 28 through July 13, 2022, RDU had the fourth-highest percentage of flight cancellations in the country. From the article, "'Our flight schedule, along with weather and shortages at airlines and air traffic control, combine to create a perfect storm of challenges that disproportionately affect RDU,' said RDU Director of Media Relations Stephanie Hawco." My wife and I didn't deal with a flight cancellation, but multiple delays caused us to leave RDU, go back home, and come back early the next morning. We were bound for Oakland, California and were ultimately delayed 12 hours. Our original itinerary had us leaving RDU in the 7pm hour and arriving in SLC (Salt Lake City International Airport) in time to make a connection to arrive in OAK (Oakland International Airport) by midnight. The outbound flight to SLC ended up getting delayed at least 2-3 times and wouldn't depart until the 10pm hour. My wife had multiple calls with Delta customer service agents. In an effort to help us make our connection in SLC, an agent rerouted us and put us on a flight from RDU to BNA (Nashville International Airport) then BNA to SLC. All set, right? Wrong. Our RDU to BNA flight then got delayed by at least one hour due to a late-arriving flight attendant. The captain of that flight came out to the gate twice to give us updates. He promised us it was not the flight attendant's fault, but a scheduling error/miscommunication. I really don't care what the reason for a flight delay is as long as I get to my destination with little or no delay. In the end, there was no way we were making it from RDU to OAK that night. We were then rebooked on a completely different itinerary for the next day, a 6:45am flight out of RDU into ATL (Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, our other home), then ATL to SFO. We wasted 12 hours. Who or what was to blame? Delta? RDU? Someone or something else? Delta gave us $30 in meal vouchers to use inside airports, but not all vendors accepted them. After chatting with a Delta agent online via Delta's website, I was able to get $200 in travel vouchers. Better than nothing. It would've been nothing if I didn't put forth the effort to ask (that took about 30-45 minutes). Something Delta can improve upon is actually having in-person agents staff the Delta Help Center at RDU. Inside security, RDU's Delta Help Center is located inside Terminal 2, next to Gate D5. After our original outbound flight from RDU was delayed to the point of misconnection, my wife and I walked to the Help Center only to find no Delta employees inside. What was there was a wall of telephones (to speak to an agent) and some self-serve kiosks. Yikes. Perhaps this is an example of the staffing issues the airline industry is currently dealing with, post-pandemic.

    We haven't flown with Delta in a while and were impressed by their service and comfort. Our gate was moved about 20 minutes before boarding. We clearly heard the announcement and moved a few gates down. The Delta employee at this gate was incredible. I wish I caught his name because he was so helpful and enthusiastic. Boarding started on time and moved quickly. The flight was shorter than expected and we had snacks and beverages served. The seats were surprisingly spacious (not even comfort plus seats). The optional light above the seats was bright and the fan worked well. Plus there was a TV on each seat back. The friendly hostesses passed out complimentary headphones prior to the flight. We landed early and exited the plane smoothly. Overall, we had a great flight with Delta and recommend them to others!

    I had a very smooth experience here. The line was short, check in was easy. My bag was loaded. Plane boarded on time. Can't really complain this time around.

    I haven't flown Delta in decades, with reason. While the direct flights appear "short" and fares may be low, there are always unexpected delays returning to your original destination and I have never been impressed by what they offer. Passengers are always clueless about what to pack and what not to as a carry-on, this often irks the crew and there are always unnecessary delays as a result. My aircraft flying into New York City was extremely cramped and uncomfortable. It was a much smaller plane. Seats were highly uncomfortable very similar to riding on a coach bus ! Terrible. While the crew was professional and lively, and the flight was only 1 hour, the experience was just lacking. I did appreciate the salted almonds, humor when we landed from the flight attendant who played Alicia Keys' & Jay-Z's New York on the loud speaker. However, I don't think I will fly with Delta again any time soon.

    Considering that I don't live in the Raleigh Durham area, RDU remains one of my top non-hub airports. I've landed or departed from RDU 7 times this year and each time, it has been a more than decent experience. This week, there was a ticket agent that helped me tremendously with a check-in problem I was having. I had two separate itineraries, not linked, because I bought one five months ago and the other a week ago. She couldn't fix it with her terminal but made the calls to Delta HQ and got it resolved. Awesome and friendly and helpful! I've never had any real problems here. Boarding is quick, luggage is quick (I did get my 2500 mile "20 minutes guarantee" once), and everyone is helpful. Five stars because RDU has a Delta SkyClub! [Review 12493 overall, 2283 of 2019.]

    meh... so many preboards, that if you dont fly once a week... your bag will be gate checked... good luck making your connection. No inflight entertainment, at least on the last 10 flights I've been on... Outdated planes... no charging ports... If you are in first class, though, it is ok

    GLUTEN FREE snack option on board! All staff were pleasant and helpful.

    Overall pleasant experience with Delta. Happy to find some GLUTEN FREE snack options on board (small, white chocolate macadamia granola bar and almonds)

    For those thinking of booking with Delta, just don't. I wish I could give them zero stars that's how terrible their customer service is. They couldn't find our reservation today (after spending 2+ hours back in Feb trying to get it scheduled), so we had to spend our entire afternoon rectifying THEIR mistake, just to be spoken down to and receive absolutely no compensation for all of the trouble. Apparently they find it okay to just remove paying customers' confirmations randomly and are convinced we should be okay with wasting our days trying to resolve it. Now I'm worried that they still won't be able to locate our reservation when checking in for the flight... I truly hope we never have to result in flying with them again. I'd rather give my business to literally any other airline.

    Super disappointed that one a 5 and a half hour flight, that you only offered pretzel mix or chips and nothing substantial to eat.

    8 delays for over 7 hours without explanation or apology. Weather is not an issue. It is 3 am and so airport traffic is not an issue.

Everything appears to be well organized, and going through TSA was smooth and efficient. The only thing I wish they have was more shopping stores. The airport its self is very large and we did have trouble with AA in getting our paid luggage tag. Machine not working. Staff telling us different things as to get it fixed. But finally we were taken care of. At that time of the morning TSA was quiet and we got right through. We arrived at the airport at midnight from Charlotte but we had to call for the shuttle because it was taking a long time for the bus to come up to the second deck to get us. But a lady had just reported in and she came and got us. She apologized that we had to wait, which was nice of her. She was pleasant and got us right to our vehicle. Again, great service from the shuttle staff. My only complaint is that we could not find the parking area for economy that was supposed to be $12 a day. We ended up at express which was $18 a day. We were told the old parking lot way out in the back had been replaced and was now for employees. It's a long drive for me to use this airport. The only thing I would suggest is that the signage be clearer for the parking areas and make sure the website is properly updated.
