I'm done flying with Frontier Airlines. I'm over the poor customer service and the way customers are treated. Just because it's a budget airline doesn't mean passengers should be treated with any less respect. Between the baggage restrictions and all the additional fees, you can easily end up paying close to the same price as flying with American Airlines without the frustration and humiliation I experienced with Frontier's customer service. I also find the heavy reliance on self-service processes excessive. While I understand the need to keep costs down, there should still be adequate customer support available when travelers need assistance. First and Last Time Flying Frontier This was my first and absolutely last experience flying Frontier. Our flight from Raleigh to Orlando was delayed, and while they did notify us about 24 hours in advance that we could cancel for a refund, we were already locked in. We had prepaid for hotels and attractions in Orlando, so turning back wasn't an option. The delay threw off our whole schedule, and no compensation like meal vouchers was offered. But the worst part happened during the flight. I was seated in front of small children who were repeatedly pushing and bouncing the tray table attached to my seat. It made the flight uncomfortable and frustrating. I completely understand kids will be kids, and their parent really was trying their best. So I politely asked the flight attendant if I could change seats. There were plenty of empty seats available. I calmly explained the situation, but the answer was still a flat-out no. No empathy, no willingness to help just a strict "you have to stay where you are." After the trip, I contacted Frontier hoping for some kind of compensation. Since we took the flight, they denied a refund and instead gave us $50 vouchers that expire in 90 days ones I won't be using because I'll never fly with them again. Service: 3 Flight: 4 (1039 RDU to Orlando) Date/Time: 2/2/2025 9am The lack of zones creates chaos at the gate with everyone rushing to get in the plane as quickly as possible to get a space in the overhead bins somewhere in the vicinity of where you're seated. It's insane. If you pay extra, you get zone 1, and it looked as though more than half the folks paid extra so kinda defeated the process so more zones needed to ease the chaos. Other than that, the flight was on time but the landing was pretty hard. It was a first for us on Frontier but didn't have much choice for non-stops to Orlando. BEWARE: PREDATORY BAG PRICING. They only allow 40 lbs to the usual 50. EACH checked bag AND carryon cost $70 each. If bag is over 40 lbs its an EXTRA $100. Same if you did not pay for the carryon bag, they will at the terminal for an EXTRA $100. ALL of their staff (except the flight attendants on the plane) were rude & acted like they certainly did not want to help you. If you didnt check in online they will charge you $25!! So I arrived at 6:00pm for flight 3020 on August 30. They texted me saying it was a delay till 7:34. When I got to the front desk they said the plane was on time for 6:22. They turned me away saying I was late. So this I can accept. What I can't accept and why I'm furious is that the flight actually was delayed till 7:34. Took a flight out of Miami using Frontier. Waited at the ticketed desk for almost 2 hours and not an agent in site. My flight was to board at 6pm and the agents didn't come to the desk until 4:45pm. The seats are uncomfortable and do not recline back. No snacks or drinks given. Arrived in RDU and all the zippers on my duffle bag was partially open. My sunglasses were gone. I filed a claim and according to a contract, I will not be receiving any compensation. read more

If at all possible.... Do not travel on Frontier! There was no one at their agent desk in the airport for over an hour and there was a line about 50 people long!!!! Then when I tried to check in, it stated that I could only check in online. When I tried to then their server was down or not working or whatever and I couldn't check in to get my boarding pass! Finally about an hour later an agent arrived but we were number 50 in a group of at least 70 people waiting!!! Luckily their website pulled up our boarding passes only after we paid another $140!!! All we had was a small carry on each! They charge for carry on but it didn't say this when we purchased our tickets! I booked a flight from Raleigh, North Carolina to Salt Lake City with a layover in Denver. I arrived at the airport at 6 AM plenty of time to reach my flight. The flight was delayed. They updated us every half hour to 45 minutes and then about two hours in we found out that our flight would not be leaving until 1245 original takeoff time was 8:30 in the morning. This caused me to miss my connecting flight from Denver to Salt Lake City. My flight was originally supposed to land in Salt Lake City at 4:30 in the afternoon. It was delayed to the point that I had to get a different connecting flight. New return time was 1245 the next morning. This caused me to miss another days at work. what could frontier improve? EVERYTHING. the whole business itself! my friends and i had a girls trip to atlanta. our flight was at 10:12 am, like any other airline you have to be 45 min before to check in a bag, we got to the airport at 9:10 am SO A WHOLE HOUR BEFORE TAKE OFF, we are waiting in line, the front desk girl was just chatting to this guy about god knows what! finally got us to the counter it had just turned 9:12am and proceeded to say she needed to talk to her supervisor, calls her and tells the supervisor yes we were already in line and the supervisor said they will not accept our bags MIND YOU IT WAS ONLY 30 SECONDS after the hour mark!!! we asked if we could pay extra and they offered NO solution! we asked to to speak to the supervisor and she would not meet with us only talked to us over the phone and still did not offer NO SOLUTION or HELP OR COMPASSION! no apology no nothing!! i read the reviews and still gave frontier a chance and now i know why the reviews are so poor because it really is a reflection of this company!!! they over charge you and are strict for no reason! I wish I could give negative stars!! I had a trip planned to Vegas for 10 MONTHS. Was so excited to see all my favorite bands at When We Were Young Fest. The flight was delayed an hour and when we finally got on the plane there were technical issues and they had to cancel the flight. No apology, compensation, or compassion. People on that flight had spent $1000s on that concert and we all had our dreams dashed because Frontier couldn't bother to check the plane until we were ready to leave. Very disgruntled with Frontier during this pandemic. I advise against booking with them, even once this pandemic is over. We booked flights in February of this year (pre paramedic madness) for June. Per an email we received in March, it was offered and suggested to cancel the reservation, and we would be credited our full flight amount, as well as a $50 voucher per person. We paid $459.60 for the first flight that was supposed to go to NY. We had until the end of the June to rebook a flight, or we would lose the credit. We rebooked a flight to NY, for November of this year in hopes the pandemic would ease up by then, also because we couldn't afford to lose the money we had already put into the flights. On September 10th, we received another email that our flight has been canceled, and we could either get another flight credit, and $50 voucher per ticket, or get a refund. We decided to go with the refund, as we realize that not only does Frontier not fly to Syracuse during the times we want, but didn't want to go through being told our flights have been canceled again. On September 10th, we clicked the option to get a refund and it brought us to a page that said it would take a week to process the claim. I waited for the refund to show up, and even waited longer than I should have, figuring they were handling a lot or requests and to just give it another week. Called today, and spoke with an agent that tells me we aren't eligible for a refund because we used a voucher to book our second flight. After explaining we had $559 to spend between credits and vouchers, we didn't actually use the voucher portion of our credit, just the credit from the flight itself. The new flights for November that Frontier canceled were $436.40, so our credit covered that. When I asked why I was sent an email stating we could get a credit or refund, I was told by the representative it clearly states in the email that the refund goes back to the original form of payment, and had I read the email I would have known that-meaning since we used a credit to purchase the tickets for November, we are only eligible for another travel credit. Here's the email, with nothing about original forms of payment. Not only did Amy fall incredibly short of providing even decent customer service, insinuating I'm incapable of reading an email, but Frontier as a whole did. If I could give negative stars I would. I was supposed to attend a funeral in Phoenix on July 14. Booking at the last minute is tough. Frontier has a flight for around $300. I should've known this wouldn't work well. First off they charge for EVERYTHING!!! Carry on bags, seats, water, etc. Surprised they don't have pay toilets on the planes. Each leg of your flight is treated as a separate flight so they get you 4 times. I got to the airport well in advance of my first flight from RDU to Austin, TX. While waiting my connecting flight to PHX was delayed from 8:30 to 11:55 PM, the 2:00 AM then 3:00 AM then cancelled outright. Luckily for me I found out before gettin stuck in Austin. I went to the gate agents to cancel my flights since there was not one that would get me to PHX in time. The first rep, copped an attitude and couldn't grasp why I wanted to cancel my flights. Her equally clueless associate contacted a supervisor sho gave ok for a refund. Something didn't sit right with me, a day later, I called Frontier and found that my reservations had NOT been cancelled nor had a refund been issued. If I could give a negative rating I would.... both coming and going flights were well over an hour late, excessive lines with very rude staff who do nothing to assist paying passengers. Flights are overcrowded and not at all comfortable.... luggage fees are insane high in comparison to better airlines who make sure your things actually make it to their destination! What a horrible company! I wish I could give negative stars. On my flight out, it was delayed by 2 hours and there was no communication about this. I only knew about the delay because I have the app. Then when we were about to board, they asked for people with "flexible travel plans" to come to the desk. When nobody came to the desk, they said that they would not board the plan until people came to the desk and were willing to take a later flight. They were very rude and pushy about this. On the flight home, when I went to pick up my bag, the three front pockets of my bag were emptied. I have very important medication and all of is was gone. I went to the help desk and they were very aloof and seemed bothered by the fact that I was there. I was charged 99 dollars for a personal item at the gate in Atlanta on the last leg of my flight. My bag measures 13.5"H x 14.5"W x 8"D. The website lists the measurement requirements as 14"H X 18"W X 8"D. I could not address this at the airport because the Frontier staff member told me that if I didn't pay the fee for the personal item then I would miss my flight. There is no customer service number so I filed a complaint. They answered by email and said I need to call to confirm my identity. They gave me no number, so I replied to the email and they said to use the chat feature. I have been trying for over an hour and have gotten no response.
