I have been going to Avanti Therapy for over 12 years. I have MS in secondary progressive stage, which is unique in the fact that it is not just maintaining but actual improvements, even as my disease progressed. They also have one of the finest scoliosis clinics for all ages. I have never felt once in their clinic hopeless nor at a point where I could not improve. It is not just maintaining but actual improvement which is something that I've always searched for in the other clinics. Jessica Bishop is one of the finest PT's, I have consistently been going to for over many years, but I've also gone to many others that are just as qualified and also very helpful. But it's the Management, Julie and Heather, that set the tone for the entire clinic. And the front desk that is always so welcoming and helpful in scheduling. Went for the Schroth sessions with Laura for my scoliosis. I can't say how helpful they were as they won't fix the scoliosis, but potentially will keep it from progressing. I do think it was likely a waste of time and $ because the exercises are odd and some require odd accoutrements and it will be hard to keep up these exercises. But I did want to warn folks to NOT let Laura do nerve glide stretching on your arm. She does it too hard and when I got back to my car, I realized I couldn't bend my arm without pain and I had pain in my elbow for at least a week. My PT said that nerve glides need to be done very sensitively because the nerves can be easily inflamed. It was a shame because I liked Laura. I did call and explain what happened when I canceled my next appointment and they said Laura would call me back and she never did. read more

I was a patient at Avanti on and off for about 3 years for a number of different issues. I'm young and athletic, so I've had trouble with a labral tear, with shoulder instability, with ankle instability, even with chronic low back pain... you name it. Avanti was an excellent resource. I think I've been treated by almost every therapist in this clinic, and they've all been rockstars! Sometimes I've bounced around between therapists because they each have different specialties, and sometimes it's been because the schedules will fill up if you don't plan ahead. But I've never been disappointed with the care I received. It was incredibly difficult and frustrating to experience chronic pain as a 20something, but all therapists I worked with were cognizant of my frustration and and addressed my emotional difficulties as well as my physical issues. I worked most with Laura, Jeni, and Heather L, so I have to give them special shout outs! They all have different strengths and they have all been essential to my recovery. Unfortunately I moved away from Colorado not too long ago - I wish I could've taken Avanti with me! I have yet to find a place with therapists who are anywhere near as caring and understanding, not to mention knowledgable. I still have occasional flare ups of old issues, and thankfully I can use all the tricks they taught me to calm things down again. I don't know where I'd be without Avanti! read more

I've had three years of recurring issues in my back due to a burst disc, so unfortunately I've been to several different physical therapists across several years and two states. Avanti was recommended to me, but after only two visits I decided to cancel my future appointments and go looking for another provider. The biggest issue was the therapist who I didn't find had a good "bedside manner" and also didn't provide any pain relief, etc.. When I first "met" her, she came up to the front desk as I was checking in and dealing with a paperwork issue (read below). Instead of coming over to introduce herself, shake my hand, or anything like that, she stayed on the other end of the desk asking the receptionist if she could take me back yet with a very fed up tone. Once I was "allowed" to go back, she said "follow me" turned away and took off at a very fast pace. I'm a tall guy and generally move fast, but with my back and leg pain I was a little slower than normal and could only keep her in sight by walking extra fast, which hurt. She never turned back or checked in to see how I was doing. Once we were in the room it was much the same, very cold attitude, I felt like I was an inconvenience to her, not someone she was interested in helping. She used several terms I didn't know, and then declined to explain them, saying she would explain in a later session. She put me through a series of diagnostic movements (which I totally expected) which greatly increased my pain. However she didn't do any treatment nor did she provide any take home stretches, movements, advice, etc... So I walked out in significantly more pain than I went in with, and without any tools to help. On my second visit, there was some treatment, but I only got one take-home exercise, which was "self traction" where I was supposed to hang from an open door to take weight off my spine. I'm a 250 lb guy, I don't think any of my home's doors would appreciate my hanging my weight off them, and when I tried it on the super solid outside door, frankly it hurt my hands like crazy. That was it. I ended up doing the same thing on the back of some stairs in the basement, but it didn't provide any noticeable relief. In addition to the cold manner (at least that's how I perceived it) and the lack of pain relief and helpful at home exercises, the rest of the experience was sub-optimal. A lot of this sounds like nit-picking, and if it was only one or two of these issues I wouldn't care, but combined with the treatment issues, etc... it all added up. They don't take my insurance, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, but didn't mention that until I was already there. So I had to pay out of pocket. Also after they ran my credit card for the $130 visit fee, she told me "oops, I'm not supposed to run Amex, do you have another card" so then ran the same amount on my Visa. I did get the Amex charge refunded, but it was a little annoying. There's never any parking. The first visit I got lucky and only had to park one building away. The second visit I had to park a couple blocks away in another businesses lot, and then limp through the rain. I mentioned the lack of parking and was told it was "always that way". As requested I'd filled out a ton of forms two weeks before my visit and emailed them in. Once I arrived for my first visit they handed me all blank paperwork to fill out. When I mentioned I'd already sent it in, they had to track down someone who was off that day, get her email password (I think?) and try to find my forms, which eventually they did. But it was a mess. It also meant that my provider had not reviewed any of the information I'd sent in two weeks before hand. Later that afternoon I got called because apparently someone was supposed to make me fill out more paperwork before I left but they forgot, so I had to answer 20-30 questions on the phone which took about 15-20 minutes (I think). So basically super disorganized, don't take my insurance, cold and indifferent manner from the therapist, and no pain relief. All of this is in sharp contrast to every other physical therapy provides I've gone to. My new provider, Coal Creek Physical Therapy is 100% better, night and day difference! read more

Having had a significant amount of PT in my life and in my children's lives, I have to say, this clinic is exceptional. They had a very diverse group of PT specialties, and also offer Pilates for core strengthening as PT. I appreciate that this office offers to call me when They have PT openings for the therapists you see. Their sessions are an hour long and I have increased my core strength since beginning my treatment here. That is per my orthopedist. In my case I have stability issues and their therapists have given me specific stabilizing exercises to do at home which has benefited me greatly! read more

Avanti changed the course of my recovery. Attentive, hands-on and caring. Avanti, and Julie Edelman (PT, DPT) in particular, evaluated me post c-spine surgery, reviewed my med records and prior PT therapy routine and changed the course of my recovery. They moved me away from the habitrail-like PT routine prescribed by my former high-volume PT clinic and designed a course of treatment and exercise for me, my condition and my goals (not just what the computer program spit out at my prior clinic). I am now off the treadmill approach that felt like it was going nowhere and am on track towards improvement and recovery. Miles to go, but I feel I am on my way, largely thanks to Avanti's caring and attentive staff. I am surprised there are not more reviews here and encourage others to add their experiences, pro or con. I am also surprised by and question the sole negative review posted. My husband, daughter and I have been seeing physical therapists at Avanti Therapy for many years. Avanti's therapists are outstanding, professional and friendly and we've always had success with our various treatments. Just prior to COVID, I was seeing Kelly Duda, whose expertise includes detailed knowledge of the hands, for a hand injury. As I was finally healed from that injury, I fell off my bike and injured the same hand. Because it was at the beginning of COVID, Kelly suggested we use Telehealth. Initially, I wasn't quite sure how physical therapy could be handled virtually, but it worked absolutely fine! We met weekly, she assessed my situation both visually and verbally, then she guided me as I massaged the injured areas and then covered exercises with me. Her follow-up was fantastic as she emailed the exercises and also links to needed support materials, hand brace, etc. Kelly is wonderful to work with - very personable and knowledgeable. I highly recommend Kelly and Avanti Therapy through Telehealth virtual visits during this time of COVID. read more

I sought PT treatment for my low back pain at Avanti Therapy and overall had a wonderful experience! I worked with both Kelly and Heather L, who each had different specialties and approaches to my pain, and they were both amazing. Each PT has their own room which makes their appointments more private, and I really appreciated this. I was in college/just graduated from college during my treatment, and money was tight, so I really appreciated that they informed me of my insurance benefits for physical therapy, and told me what I would owe for each appointment, as this allowed me to budget and feel less stressed. The front desk staff and admin were all so kind and friendly, and Avanti Therapy really does an amazing job at customer service. There is plenty of parking near the building (both in the building's parking lot and on the street) and I've never been unable to find a parking spot in their parking lot, even when they are busy. I'm happy to report that my back pain has resolved and I was provided with many home exercise programs that I have used to continue to be pain-free. I highly recommend Avanti Therapy and will absolutely return to them if I ever have any issues! read more
