I've been going to Ability PT since I tore my ACL in August 2012. I view the fact that I keep going back to them even for the "little things" as incredibly positive feedback for them. Most of my visits have been with Kurt, but I've seen Katie and Meggan too (and I have an appointment with Liz in a couple days). They're all awesome. My knee is healthier than it has been in more than 10 years and I'm in the best health I've been in since I ran cross country in high school. I always leave a session with a clear idea (usually written down by whoever I'm seeing) of what I need to be working on at home until I'm in again and throughout the session I always feel comfortable (though yes, sometimes there's pain, but I'm still at ease with them). I know I can talk with them about anything I think is relevant to my treatment and I'll get their full attention and thoughtfulness. I consistently recommend friends and family to Ability and I have no reason to expect that to change. Bottom line: Wonderful people that will work very hard to improve your life. And I have to give a total shout out to Rebecca at the front desk. There is no medical facility I've ever found to be as easy to schedule with and no individual in that role that is as pleasant to work with as Rebecca. She's just fantastic. She's always very patient with me as I (sloooowly) pull up my work calendar on my phone and desperately try to find a time that works around my meetings. And she's great about letting you know as early as possible if something comes up and you'll need to reschedule. read more

So to start off this is going to sound like one of those infomercials. My name is Addison Durboraw and about 3 months ago I started seeing Katie Kennedy at Ability Physical Therapy. I came hobbling into the Longmont office to see what they could do for me. I was honestly skeptical that any sort of workout or "therapy" was going to do anything for me. I figured I was headed for the butchers block(surgery). Then one week Katie informed me of a new technique that she had learned and wanted to try on me, dry needling. Most people would not be fond of the ideal of a bunch of needles being jammed in them and then tasered(stimulated there is no actual taser involed fyi). I however was actually amused by the thought. I am back to walking normally and almost have complete motor function in my right leg back. Thanks to the wonderful people at Ability Physical Therapy I am now able to return to my normal life and its fantastic. I have been suffering from vertigo for over 12 years with numerous attempts to get rid of it. I was finally referred to Mary Finck DPT, at Ability Therapy. After about a month she was able to clear calcium crystals in my anterior semicircular canal. Only about 2% of people afflicted with Vertigo have this specific problem. There was an immediate improvement. Mary helped me where specialists I visited over a 12 year period could not. My case was particularly challenging and Mary went above and beyond in researching her diagnosis of "Funky Vestibular System" or FVS. More importantly she was able to use the information she found to make vast improvements in my condition. I highly recommend Mary as a professional that is dedicated to helping her patients return to a normal life. I have seen Meggan at Ability PT for a variety of minor and major sports injuries over the past three years. As a professional rock climber, both a guide and sponsored athlete, I take my sport very seriously and ask a lot of my body. Meggan is both very insightful in treating my issues and very understanding of the demands I have for performance. She doesn't give me a "just take it easy" line; she recognizes how important athleticism is in my life and offers guidance and treatment to enable me to continue progressing. Furthermore, I often have minor tweaks or simply want a "tune up" and try to schedule an appointment at the last minute, and the clinic is almost always able to accommodate my schedule. Everyone at Ability PT is warm, kind, and caring! The office administrator, Rebecca, always greeted everyone with a smile. She made a huge positive difference in my experience at Ability. Rachel Hidde was my physical therapist at Ability, and she did an awesome job helping me recover from the pain associated with my hip labral tear. Rachel was very responsive, informative, and communicative - always addressing my concerns and questions. Upon my release, she gave me the tools and information to care for myself if the pain returned. Before I saw Rachel, I could hardly walk one mile without intense sharp pains in my hip. Ability Physical Therapy has assembled a strong team. I feel confident that anyone in the organization is qualified to meet and exceed their professional tasks. Have been mainly working with Mary Finck to address structural issues and flexibility limitations. Mary has exceeded my goals in the process by bringing me along by explaining what we are trying to accomplish and how we will do that. She has the ability to recognize who the individual is and how best to work with them. I am sleeping through the night because there is no pain, however more importantly I understand why. She has gained my trust as a physical therapist, which is not easy. I am standing straighter and with no pain. This is a whole better than the alternatives. read more

After 6 orthopedic surgeries (knee and back) I have used a lot of physical therapists,none of which came close to the results I have gotten from Ability and Alisyn Hummelberg. After my 7th surgery, which was the worst(lumbar spinal fusion), I was recommended to them by my Doc. After 6 weeks of wearing a back brace and being able to do pretty much nothing, I went to them weak and out of shape. I went there for 2 months for exercise/rehab, and was markedly better after the 2 months. It's now been 7 months since surgery, and by continuing the exercises Alisyn gave me, I am back to bike riding, hiking, hunting and skiing. She also gave me exercises to improve problems/weakness that were lingering from previous surgeries which was a bonus. read more

Thankfully, I have not had to have PT for a very long while but my old knee (that has survived a dislocation and 4 surgeries) had been giving me a rough time for several months and I was referred to Ability for PT. From the minute I walked in the door I was greeted in a professional but very friendly manner and am greeted by name each time I arrive. Mary is an amazing therapist! She is knowledgeable, patient, thoughtful, empathetic and always has a smile on her face. After only 3 visits I have much less swelling and pain and am feeling great about my progress. Meggan Oliver has been instrumental in keeping me active and competitive as an older athlete. l had a hip injury that had not healed after 18 months of treatment from other therapists. Meggan did dry needling and gave me stretching and strengthening exercises. After 3 months with Meggan I was able to race again at a high level. The exercises she gave me made me stronger and faster than I was before the injury. I achieved the 65-69 age-group All American Standard in track events from 100m through the mile, and I won my age group in the Bolder Boulder. In addition to working on current injuries, Meggan always looks for ways to help prevent future injuries. I highly recommend her! read more

I feel like I've won a million dollar lotto in finding Rachel Hidde. I've seen physical therapist for well over 40 years and Rachel stands heads higher then any other therapist. Rachel explains why and how the therapy is working to where it makes sense and I have "buy in". My issues maybe be more complicated then most but with spinal arthritis for 45 years then then having both hips replaced and getting back to 90% in 7 weeks after surgery I have to attribute to her knowledge and talent in relating the me. Highly recommend Ability PT! I saw Mary Finck for several weeks for knee pain that was keeping me from the physical activities I wanted to do. Her knowledge and expertise with anatomy and what I needed to do to strengthen key muscles was exactly what I needed to improve, fix the problem, and get back to the active lifestyle I wanted. The facility itself is clean, had everything I needed for therapy, and flexible appointment times. I hope to not have to return but if I do need physical therapy again, Ability PT and Mary will be my first and only call. read more

I highly recommend Mary Finck as a physical therapist. She worked with me for several weeks to find resolution to my stiff and painful neck problems. A good part of my problem came from arthritis in my neck, and Mary gave me several exercises to do daily, some a couple times a day, to help with flexibility and decrease pain. She was very encouraging the entire time. I told her I needed accountability for doing my exercises, so she asked me about it every time I went for my visits. I actually miss going into Ability PT. Unfortunately I had 2 surgeries last year, BUT fortunately I worked with Mary Finck post op for back surgery in March and then for shoulder surgery in June and she scaled my recovery exercises specifically to not only what my body could do, but to what we wanted it to be able to do. I was diligent in getting after the home exercises and each time I would see Mary, she would have more fun exercises for me to perform. I've been working with Mary at Ability for the 4 months on my Post Op Tibial Tubercle Avulsion Fracture. I have nothing but great things to say about the staff and facility at Ability Physical Therapy. My injury was quite unique and required a large amount of outside research and study. Mary Finck was my therapist while I rehabbed pretty serious shoulder surgery. I was a tough patient being over 50 and impatient wanting to return to Crossfit training. This is by far the best physical therapy office I have ever been to. From the moment you walk in the door and Rebecca greets you with her warm personality and beautiful smile, she starts the visit out on the right foot. I have been seeing Kurt after an extensive back surgery and the surgeon told me yesterday I am way above the curve. I am so happy! After suffering from whiplash and nerve damage from a car accident, I was told I needed PT. I was nervous at first not really knowing what to expect. But after four months I feel as if I have been cured from my pain. Rachel Hidde is amazing and so knowledgeable in her craft. After working with Mary for just a month or two my lower back and hip finally stopped hurting all the time. I've had these issues for years. But my knee stopped clicking and aching every time I squat and I was able to compete at the 2014 Southwest CrossFit Regionals event pain free!
