Avalon Pockets serves up some really delicious food! Everything we tried was fresh, flavorful, and tasted amazing. The service was quick and efficient; they told us our to-go order would be ready in 10 minutes, and it was right on time. The only thing I'd mention is that the ambience could use a little update--while it was clean, the furniture and menu signage felt a bit outdated. That said, if you're after tasty food and prompt service, this place is a solid choice!

Still 5 "Best Falafel" Stars for this local Mediterranean spot in Downtown Avalon Park (Near the Subway in the Publix Plaza). I've dined here numerous times and if you hungry, the platters are very generous (especially in comparison to what you pay at the Avalon Marketplace). On my last visit, I noticed they remodeled and the fountain drinks are not up front instead of on the left, they upgraded to a reach in cooler for some items, and the attitudes and service of the staff remains the same at friendly and accommodating. Their Vegan Platter is outstanding with 3 Grape Leaves, 3 Falafel, a Mini-Mountain of Yellow Rice, a delicious fresh flavorful salad, pita wedges, tahini and hummus. The falafel is still the best I've had as it's a good size, is soft and moist inside, and crispy outside. If you like fries, OMFG you have to try theirs. They're definitely better than Burger King fries (which isn't hard to do at all as those are the second worse fries ever). But they may be the best fries in Orlando! I'm normally not a fan of French fries in general, but these would turn anyone into a pretty fly for a fry guy! We've eaten their garlic sauce with fried pita chips and it's addicting AF to the point of you know you should quit before you start burping up whatever it is that goes into it. That flavor sticks with you for a few hours after too. Their Chicken Wrap, Greek Salad, and pretty much everything I've had have been great. They've added some new items recently (as of 11/2022) like a new chicken or gyro meal bowl as bowls are all the rage these days. It's great if your vegan, vegetarian, fryatarian (yes, they have fries too), or meat eater (they have a meat sampler too so you can see what you like best). Definitely give it a try! I did not feel awful after eating here (get it, feel awful, falafel... I'm here all month).

Delicious food! Super fast service and clean. Would recommend! Place has been here for so long and finally decided to try it. I wish I would have tried it before! Will be my go to from now on.

This is one of my go to middle eastern/mediterranean. Discovered this gem on Uber Eats, and it has quickly become one of my usuals. Love the flavors of the food. I have tried their Souvlaki, Tawook and Shawerma chicken and Falafels (not a red meat fan) - and they are all incredible. Had them in different ways - platters, wraps, sides. Everything is seasoned really well and their large portions are greatly appreciated. I love their yellow rice as well. My orders always come out the way I had requested them, perfectly packaged every time. Would love to check out the restaurant in person when I am in the area.

When Mr. S asked me on lunch date to Avalon Pockets, I thought maybe he was taking me to a hot new pool hall. Alas, it's not "those" kind of pockets you'll find at Avalon Pockets. All kidding aside, Avalon Pockets has been a welcomed Mediterranean option in the area to get your gyro and falafel fix for years. They have really good fried pita chips with their creamy garlic dip that is just ADDICTIVE!! Mr. S loves their falafel. It's a small little joint but with several tables to dine in. The staff has always been friendly and service doesn't take too long.

We go here every other week! CAN NOT get enough! Avalon pockets is absolutely delicious! The amount of food we recieve is phenomenal for the price we pay. All my younger boys love this place which is impressive on its own! The workers are always so sweet. The kindest people ever. They do get busy at times but we have been fortunate. To be there everytime business isnt as crazy. The resturaunt itself isnt anything extravagent but honestly thats where I find the best foods. Such a gem. I prefer to dine in rather than order take out. Having it freshly made makes a difference!

This place is such a gem! I wasn't expecting it to be a family business but was pleasantly surprised with the food since the only thing close I've ever had is hummus and falafel We got the meza platter which comes with salad, grape leaves, falafel, and hummus and baba ganoush (eggplant). Also got the kibbeh which is stuffed meatballs Our hummus and baba ganoush was forgotten and brought out later so we got fountain drinks on the house which was very kind but it wasn't an inconvenience at all ! Everything was so delicious, my favorite being the grape leaves. It is rice mixed with meat and olives I think, from how it tasted, but regardless I definitely recommend My bf got us the kibbeh which was tender and moist and flavorful They came with tahini sauce which is also yummy and I recommend if you've never tried tahini Falafels we're flavorful and moist, not crumbly and dry like how they sometimes are Definitely recommend for a quickly meal :)

If you want to escape from the everyday hustle & bustle & feel transported please stop here! It's such a mom & pop shop it's precious!! The food itself was very homey & warm & you can taste the ingredient of love & care in it to my surprise the meat in the gyro wasn't dry it was super tender & moist!!! I will be coming back for sure!

Avalon Pockets is tucked in on a side street, sharing the same complex with the Public(x) supermarket in Avalon. It is a sleepy little street, with not much action except for a liquor store around the corner that would constitute "haraam" (or prohibited) in all Muslim countries, but here in Orlando is cool. I picked up a falafel combo, that means a falafel sandwich plus fries and a fountain soda. I think it was $8 for the meal. That is a pretty good deal for some vegetarian food. Better than the cheap eats, the flavors were intense and in your face. A lot of bitterness and aromatic herbs in these falafels make this meal an intense experience, no joke. The bread was soft, fresh and tasty, and the fries were also good, not your regular straight cut fries. This was a good combo. Based on just this meal, I can recommend it as "good", no problem.

The chicken shawarma wrap was delicious. The chicken was cooked to perfection with fresh pickles, lettuce and garlic sauce. The fries had this amazing seasoning and the chicken lemon rice soup was tasty with an unexpected zing on the backend. The guys were very nice, and checked in to see how we liked the food. They waited to make the Knafeh for dessert at the end, perfect timing.

I was just not impressed. Everything was pretty dry and tasteless. Mejana is right down the street and is 10x better, fresher, and tastier.

We each got a glass of wine, and Toni basically gave us a whole tasting of Lebanese wines. She is extremely knowledgeable about wine in general. The food was next level. I have never had middle eastern food but this was a great introduction. The only minus is that this place is NOT kid friendly, and you absolutely must call ahead and get a reservation. Chef Toni was actively turning people away who did not have a reservation because she simply cannot fit more guests into her restaurant. There are no kids menus, and I don't even think there are high chairs. Toni did try to accommodate as best as she could- she made our entrees shareable for our toddler and she made sure he had extra pita bread! Chef Toni offers a "chefs table" experience, starting at $95/person, chef Toni will ask you some questions and curate a menu specific to your desires / dietary needs. We stumbled upon this place by happenstance but we will absolutely be returning. See Chef Toni featured on Food Network!

Our group all ended up getting the Mix Arabic Shawarma Plate so we could try the beef and chicken Shawarma, and we started with the Baba Ganoush which they serve with freshly warmed bread. The staff are all very attentive, helpful and friendly. The atmosphere was very nice as well. There is ample seating indoors and outdoors, and everything was very clean. The staff were on top of things, there was always someone walking through the dining room checking if anyone needed anything and cleaning up as needed. The restrooms were also pleasant and clean. We will definitely come back. There is also so much to do in the area, so it's worth the trip if you don't live very close. I did ask him if they had crispy shawarma and he said yes. I don't think he understood me, so I was a little disappointed when I received it and it was just the pita with the Shawarma inside. They have plenty of other options and they are a little on the pricey side, but I'm just hoping that it's because they use very good quality of food. I did find that there was a lot of oil on my plate and the restrooms were not clean. I had already ordered my food when I tried to take my kids to the restroom so I was a little disappointed in that being that it was so early in the day.
