Light, fragrant and exactly what you want alongside anything on the menu. The sautéed vegetables are buttery and delicious and honestly my favorite part of the plate. We came on a slow night and had the servers full attention all night. The food was incredible from the first to last bite. I loved the seasonal veggies as they were a mix of zucchini and squash and were perfectly seasoned. The chicken kabobs were another favorite and there wasn't a bite left to bring home. Celebrated my sisters bachelorette party here. Moe took extra special care of our massive party. The food was very good and the drinks were even better. My favorite was the gimlet and the lamb burger. The ambiance was very classy and elegant and the owners (Moe) even let us put on our own music. I was in town for a week and had the wonderful opportunity to meet up with a friend that I hadn't seen in 4 years! Meza is in Village Center within Baldwin Park. It's such a beautiful area. Meza is on the end of a row before you get to the end of the village center shopping/restaurant area. There is indoor and outdoor seating. My friend was waiting on me seated when I arrived. It was a quiet Monday, late afternoon at 5 when we arrived, and Clare was our amazing server. We started with drinks, and once we stopped chatting enough to look at the menu, we ordered our meals. I ordered the lamb kabobs w/ a garden salad, and my friend ordered the salmon w/ a garden salad. Both entrees came with jasmine rice and the most amazing sautéed vegetables. I asked for a side of tzatziki to accompany my meal and Wowsers, soo soo good!! I felt like I was back in Greece. Every single bite of everything was absolutely delicious. I rarely give out 5 stars, but Meza deserved every star plus extra. The salad was super fresh, with just enough dressing. The lamb was prepared perfectly and seasoned to perfection. Came in on a weeknight at 6ish. Only about 5 tableS taken. No one came to greet us and get us seated. We had to flag down the one server. They don't have buy-the-glass Happy Hour wine discount anymore even though it's still in the menu. They gave us the $2 off but it was a confusing hassle. Pesto hummus was good. Lentil soup was good and massive serving. Lamb kebob was way overcooked, so we asked the other server to send it back - he then said he had cooked it. Not cheap for what it was; better and same price at Bosphorus in Winter Park. This restaurant is okay; would be great if it had more staff. Feels like it's running on a shoestring. Wanted to like it and honestly felt sorry for them - three stars was generous. My Dad and I decided to have to have Mediterranean as it's been a long time and always loved it. We started off with the Meza Hummus (hummus, small diced meat, sautéed onions and pine nuts) which was very good. (sorry forgot to take the food pictures, my bad). My Dad ordered the Salmon which came with rice and mixed veggies (carrots, zucchini and squash) and I ordered the Combo Kabobs (Beef and Chicken with similar sides). The presentation of the food was very nice, very fresh and looked very appealing, but it lacked flavor. We found the food to be bland and Dads Salmon was overcooked. Our server Jason was awesome, professional, attentive and very helpful with the orders; we also loved the ambiance of the restaurant (photo included), Everyone's taste buds are different and also depends on how the chef's feeling that day (everyone's entitled to have an off day). This was just "our" personal experience. We've been to other Mediterranean restaurants in the past and found them to flavorful and delicious. We started with the trip dip as an appetizer and though the tzatziki was my favorite, the other two did not disappoint. They also gave us cucumbers to dip with since our gluten free guest couldn't use the pita bread. The falafel was also really flavorful and crispy, paired with another yummy dipping sauce. Meza is a beautiful restaurant and a worthy stop in spot for a sit down lunch if you are passing through Lake Baldwin's downtown area. We went around 2 PM on a weekday so it was a bit lighter, but we were still serviced promptly and professionally by the team. Food (main entrees) took a bit of time to come out to the table, but an appetizer held us over. It was nice to see them interacting with regulars as well. The atmosphere is nice, a glass of wine from their displayed collection would be a good accompaniment to any entree here. If you are looking for good Mediterranean food, you can't do much better in the Lake Baldwin area. A bit pricey per person, looking at maybe spending 30 to 40 per person depending on drinks and appetizers. Great Mediterranean food. The chicken kabob dish was super yummy. What really amazed me was the delicious veggies on the plate. Steamed zucchini, carrots and yellow squash were perfectly cooked and with flavor. I wish I can cook mine to that perfection. The rice was also super delicious. The Kafta kabob was good but not the best because some areas were not fully cooked for being ground beef. It was a nice dish that comes with a side of hummus. I have tried in two occasions the basic and Meza hummus and both were goood but I would definitely recommend getting the Meza one. The Meza hummus comes with small pieces of meat and pine nuts on top. It gives it a nice twist of flavor. I tried to give the pumpkin kibbeh a try and it was not too much to my liking. My biggest regret is that I lived in this area for about a year and never tried it until recently! Since then, I have stopped in several more times and have enjoyed every dish that I have tried. The restaurant is Lebanese and there are several authentic dishes. Just to list a few of the items: - Kabob: The chicken and the lamb were very tender and cooked to the right temperature and not overcooked. - Kofta: Also very tasty, although it was a little oiler than I would like. - Hummus: Tried it as an app as well as a side dish. I've ordered food for pickup a few times however, and they deserved some love for the satisfying meals! Some faves: * Falafel - This is the vegetarian's go-to but so often I'm left frustrated at other spots by burnt or over cooked chickpea patties. Their falafel had me wanting more! They are tender, but don't need to be cooked within an inch of their lives to hold their shape. They come with tahini, perfect for dipping. * Baba Ghannouj - this smoked and puréed eggplant dish is a real winner. You get the smokiness right away, but it's not so overpowering that you lose the eggplant flavor. Perfect with bread! * Dolmades - Love the sour stuffed grape leaves! Two come in the Meza for Two platter and that's the ideal number for one! Haha Be sure to order more if you're with a friend because you'll be fighting over them. * Spinach Fatayer - Little pies filled with spinach, onions, and pine nuts. I had family in town from Germany and thought this would be a lovely change of place for them. It's located in Baldwin park right by Publix and with street parking available. I ordered the Chicken Tagine, my husband ordered Kafta Kabobs, my mother-in-law and her husband ordered the Vegetarian Tagine and Mixed Grill, and my husband's aunt and uncle ordered the Mixed Grill each. Overall the food is good - my favorite had to be the Kafta Kabobs and Mixed Grills. Unfortunately the Chicken Tagine didn't really hit my flavor profile, but the basmati rice helped a ton. Our server was attentive which was nice and she checked in often. Unfortunately there was an incident.. My husband's uncle has a tradition of taking a photo the way you would back when phones didn't have a front facing camera - that's how he took photos then and that style stuck even to this day with our front facing camera phones. So we all posed for the photo, but as we were one of the servers walking by was watching and laughed (he didn't even try to hide it) - wow VERY rude. It's a beautiful place, but after coming here a couple of times there are several things that are odd about this place. It's often empty which is a shame for a Lebanese establishment because we already have too much New American establishments and this is a good change of pace. The music is either too quiet or non-existent which makes conversations echo off the walls. Service can be quick or slow, but it's never consistent. There were times I got a dish quick, but the next visit I was waiting a bit. Would I come back? Probably not, this was the third time and also a last. Went to Meza tonight with some friends. First and foremost, the decor is simple, sleek and modern. I really thought it was a beautiful restaurant. We got there around 6:15, and there weren't many people there. We were seated immediately. Our waitress came right away and filled our water glasses. She also brought pita bread, olives and pickles. I liked the pita bread, but it would have been better if I had something to dip it in... I ordered the spinach pies to share for an appetizer. It was okay, but had a bit of a sour taste. Not my favorite. For dinner, my friend got a bowl of chickpea and chicken soup. She said it was good, but it was lukewarm, so that was disappointing. Her husband got the burger. He asked for it to be medium, but it was definitely well-done. Also, it had a gamey taste to it. Interesting, for sure. I wanted to try something new, so I got the Kafta sandwich. I liked it, but the meat was also very well done and tough to eat. I wasn't a fan of the pickles on the sandwich- it didn't compliment the flavors. I asked for tzaiki sauce, which I got right away, but I was never told about an upcharge. When I got my bill, I was very disappointed to see a $3 charge for maybe 2 tablespoons of sauce!!!
