I love picking up to-go orders from TajineXpress as I live just down the street. It definitely feels like a community/neighborhood spot as it's kind of tucked away on an unsuspecting part of Goldenrod, but don't let that keep you away! The food here is made with love. My go-to order is the Vegetarian Platter with a rotating side and sweets. This dish comes with hummus, zaalouk (eggplant spread), Moroccan salad (tomatoes, red onions, and green peppers), and pita bread. It always tastes so fresh! I enjoy the variety of this platter as well as the variations of each item as the seasoning can vary slightly. This platter would also make a great appetizer to share. Today, I also tried the Falafel Sandwich for the first time. I enjoyed the texture of the bread- crispy crust with a soft interior. The falafel was delicious! Great flavor. Not too dense, not dry. The toppings paired well with the falafel. THE GARLIC SAUCE! That sauce was so good! My only wish was that there was more of it. Next time, I'll definitely order it with extra. The sandwich was very filling, especially paired with.... THE FRIES. What a surprise! These are some of the best fries I've ever had. LOL They were perfectly crispy on the outside, yet the right ratio of potato-y for a fry. The flavor was great, so much so I ate all of them plain. No ketchup needed! Although I bet they would taste great dipped in their garlic sauce or Harissa hot sauce. For a sweet treat, I ordered Almond Ghriba and Pistachio Baklava. The Almond Ghriba is my new favorite! It's similar in texture to my all-time favorite shortbread cookies and the almond flavor is delightful. A subtle sweet, if you will. The Pistachio Baklava was also tasty, but too sweet for my preference. The pistachio gave it a wonderful nutty flavor that helped tame the sweetness. The Baklava would pair well with their espresso! I've ordered to-go from here several times. The service is always quick and the food never disappoints! I've dined-in only once and the ambiance makes you feel like you're in Morocco. Beautiful decor! The colors, the patterns. It's wonderful to take in as you wait for your food to arrive. I need to visit more often! read more

Let me start off by saying they have my favorite kind of fries. Not sure how they make them but they are amazing. I got the lamb sandwich with their garlic sauce. The sauce is perfect for anyone who loves garlic. It complimented the lamb really nicely. The service was really friendly. I didn't want onions so I had to order it at the counter and they let me customize it. They do have a self-serve tablet to order from if you'd prefer. I like the way it looked inside. The decor was very cute with great ambience and evoked very Mediterranean vibes. It was empty when we arrived and we ordered at a little kiosk. It took awhile for the food to come out but it was kinda nice to sit in that ambience. We got zaalouk (~$4)and beef kefta- meatballs tajine (~$14). They were both quite yummy though I will say that the beef kefta was essentially glorified tiny meatballs with eggs but that doesn't mean it wasn't yummy. We dipped the free bread into the zaalouk and beef which was very fun. I enjoyed the meal! We also got Moroccan coffee which was very suit and tasted like a chai coffee as well as a Moroccan mint tea which I think was too bitter. I love trying new flavors. I don't usually eat goat or lamb. My husband had the lamb which came with artichokes and peas. My daughter had the goat which was made with chick peas and golden raisins. My stew was a little too salty but the pita and round loaf bread were a perfect pair. The hummus went well with the bread too. You order and pay at the kiosk and then be seated. It took about 15 minutes to be served. My daughter said the last time she was there they served the mint tea in a pot. When she asked if we could have it that way again, they said they are no longer serving it that way. Bummer. However, the many mint leaves really made the tea burst with flavor! Such a cute place with delicious, Moroccan food! This place is great for a casual meal as you place your order at the counter, with a restaurant setting and detailed decor. There is a shared parking lot with ample places to park. Both the restaurant and restrooms were really clean. It's hard to find chicken bastilla, and this was so goodIf you want the chicken bastilla (pictured), call ahead so they can prepare it. It is made fresh and is a work of art. We had the Morrocan bread, Zaalouk, lemon chicken, and bastilla. They also have sandwiches, couscous, kabobs, and vegetarian options. Everything I've ever had here is amazing. All I can say is...WOW. My mouth and stomach (and wallet) are so happy to be able to have food like this in Orlando. The flavors are so complex with a variety of textures. I am now used to paying $20-$30 per entree at places like Bosphorous (not the same cuisine of course but has common elements), but this is so reasonably priced in comparison, and honestly better (I've had dishes at bosphorous that are on the dry side ngl). It will satisfy a large appetite, or treat small to average appetites with leftovers to look forward to later! We of course had to try a tagine so went with the beef. It was the weekend so we opted for a lamb couscous dish as well. Topped it off with a side of soup. Everything was incredibly delicious. The meat was tender, like fall-off-the-bone and of course we didn't neglect to extract the delicious marrow from the bones. There was a good amount of vegetables in the couscous for a bit of fiber. For two people with average appetites, it was a large amount of food, and I ended up taking home some and eating it as part of 3 more meals. It is located in an unassuming strip mall with a good amount of parking, although there seems to be an international grocery store opening soon so that might make the place get busier. The decor is very cute and I love all the colorful dishware they use. The workers are very nice but there's a self-order kiosk if you prefer no-contact ordering. I haven't been to Morocco, but this is the best tagine I've had in the USA. And I live in NYC, city of great restaurants of every cuisine. They forgot to give me my chicken. Others came after I arrived order their food and received it before I received my food. Our entire table received our food after 8 pm. Our first time eating Moroccan food and it was very good! We loved the aesthetic of the restaurant and the staff were very friendly. After explaining the various options to us, of course, we had to try the traditional clay pot dishes. I ordered the lemon chicken tajine and my wife ordered the vegetable tajine. Mine was very flavorful; the vegetable dish was a bit one note, but we both enjoyed the fluffy Moroccan bread. When we heard about this new Moroccan place we rushed and drove a good 42 miles to try it. After being mesmerized by the beautiful decor and the cleanliness of the place we were excited for the visit. Then...We were disappointed in many aspects. The so labeled moroccan salad was lettuce, tomatoes, and cucumbers without any salt or dressing. Just plain veggies. Not moroccan by any standards. The lemon chicken tajine came with a few drops of sauce not enough to hold the dish together. The beef prunes tajine was four pieces of bones with barely any meat on them and a watery sauce along with prunes that were definitely were not cooked with the sauce. We asked for bread and we were charged extra for moroccan bread that ended up being regular greek pita bread. By the time we left 90 minutes later we still didn't get out sodas or even a cup of water. And to add insult to injury the appetizers came after we asked for the bill and were ready to leave. The only good experience we had were friendly but untrained staff. The hummus was good but we found from the staff that it came out of a can and not fresh made. We are willing to give it another try because we want to support ethnic variety but we may have to wait until they get their act together. read more
