Have been going there for a few years now, and have always been treated well by Kevin and his staff. But I must let him know that he needs to be aware of the fact that I was not welcome yesterday 3/7/18 (12:00). Place was empty with 2 technicians available. I came in for my routine 2 week maintenance and your available technician was on her phone with her feet up. She was asked to take care of me and instead told the front desk receptionist (who is so kind and accommodating) that she didn't want to do it and have the other technician do it... Never will I go back. As a business owner myself, I would be furious if my staff treated a longtime client and resident of the community to be turned away because "she didn't feel like doing it"! read more

I went to Avalon Nail Spa for the first time today. I've been looking for a new place to get my nails done. I called around3 and had no problem making a 5:30 appointment. I was greeted immediately by the gentleman behind the desk and half the staff. I waited just as long as it took me to choose a color. I was taken over for my pedicure which was lovely. Their pedicure area is not only relaxing but it is also level with the floor. No platform for those that are concerned about tripping or falling. The pedicure chris are great. Very comfortable massage chair. I could have used a little more force in my massage but I understand not everyone likes that. She started my manicure and we had a conversation with the customer next to me about the SNS Dip. Mid mani I changed my mind and wanted that. My technician Vee Vee never missed a beat and we switched immediately. She did a beautiful job and was very concerned with making me happy. I look forward to my next trip there. This was the absolute worst experience I have had a any nail salon and I go every two weeks. I made an appointment for a pedicure as I was going to be in the area after, this was not my regular establishment. An older gentleman was assigned to me which was no problem at all. I showed him a picture of what I wanted a very seemingly simple toe design on one toe. I asked if he could do it, he said yes. I picked my color based on the picture and proceeded to sit for my experience. He was not confident which was obvious once he began the pedi at the very beginning, he cut my nails VERY unevenly, after I informed him of what length I preferred. He provided no foot massage at all, no parafin wax which came listed as a feature of the pedi and he asked me no less than three times what I wanted by way of design. Each time I showed him my picture, not ONCE did he say he could not do it. When it came time to to do the design, he gets up, does not excuse himself and he running around the shop to every technician in the place for assistance. Mind you, I am sitting there and looking and thinking, "I asked him three times could he do the design," three times he responded affirmatively. No one else assisted him, I believed the design was free hand and they said it was a sticker! Obviously no one free hands in the shop because no one came to help him. In the meantime no one is saying ANYTHING to me, I am sitting there with uneven toes, nail polish I would not have chosen if it were not for the design and an apparently inept technician. Someone finally stated they did not have anything similar to what I wanted!!! I spoke with the manager who ended up charging me full price at $68 for a service I was totally and completely dissatisfied with. He offered no consolation, but to tell me it was partly my fault!!! Knowing the older gentleman had zero skillset and should not be performing services on any customer besides possibly polishing nails with regular polish. It was the absolute poorest example of customer service, I do not recommend this salon as they obviously do not take pride if they allow that gentleman to perform services he is absolutely not qualified to perform. Oh and not to mention he cut me as well!!! Ladies and gentlemen, this review is the short version!!!! Very dissatisfying experience and while I am more than capable of paying for my requested service, it would have been nice if the manager offered some sort of discount, I am 100% sure I am not the first person to complain about that technician who should not at all be working on customers. read more

Definitely a case of "Bait & Switch!" I googled and found this place to do a jelly pedicure and hot stone foot massage for my Mom on her 60th birthday. Well, I requested someone very experienced for my mom and anyone for me. We got whatever they had on staff that early in the morning. Needless to say, the service was horrible!! They acted like they barely wanted to touch us. The massage was the absolute worst ever, we couldn't feel anything, no pressure whatsoever. The cleaning was the fastest we had ever experienced and again very lightly touched during the whole service with their gloves on. The chairs were not the same pedicure chairs on their website and neither is the whole reception area. This is not the business that's all over their website!! They kept claiming they had another location in the same shopping center, ALL LIES!!!!! Beware!! Also, they tried to charge me $55 when the website clearly says $45 for Jelly pedicure they did honor the website price but nothing to say about the website presenting pictures that weren't at their place of business. The worst $90 I ever spent and I always tip but my Mom made sure I didn't leave a dime!!!! Never again!! read more

Definitely was not a good experience. I had planned to get a pedi and a gel mani; however, ended up leaving after the pedi. The lady doing my toes cut my toe nails uneven, some were too short others were on a slant and she didn't take her time polishing. She did not take the time to scrub my feet and was very rough to the point of hurting sometimes. Seemed like she was in a rush and no one was in there. The polish was messy and not smooth and not evenly polished. She still could not get it right after 2 tries. By that time I had enough. read more

A friend recommended that I check out Avalon. I made an appointment so I wouldn't have to wait too long. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted immediately and asked to have a seat. I was impressed by the many different choices for gel - so much to choose from! After 15 mins of waiting, I was becoming impatient. I went to the front desk and asked when would my name be called, seeing as though I had an appointment. The woman looked confused, spoke to someone else and never responded to me. I was even more frustrated and left out to run an errand. I had intentions of coming back but had no time to wait any longer especially when I had an appointment. When I came back, they explain they were looking for me and apologized for having me wait. Kim got right to it! She was very pleasant and did a great job on my gel manicure. I can say, even with my frustration about waiting, the employees are very nice and they ALL acknowledge and speak to you. The place is clean and the decor is lovely. In all of the DMV (native resident) I have never been treated so well in a nail salon IN MY LIFE! Did you hear what I just said?!...THE ENTIRE SPAN OF MY LIFE (thus far)! You can't imagine how big a compliment that is from me. I'm not an unreasonable customer, but I do have my standards. Firstly, this place is clean and I mean CLEAN! This place is amazing! I came in based on the previous reviews and I am so happy I did. I came in and they asked what I needed. I needed a full set with a pedicure for a wedding. They helped me choose a nail color and I went to start my pedicure. I am not a nail expert, but I asked some people before I went what to ask for and what to expect. I was pleased with the basic pedicure. My nail tech was very friendly, I think her name was Hanna. She was nice and accommodating. I went to Avalon Nail Spa for a approximately year. Service was ok until a disaster visit. My normal person gave me an acrylic fill but did a terrible job. Three nails broke in a matter of days so I returned to her for a fix and proceeded to get the worst nail fix I had ever encountered. The nails looked terrible but I had to leave for work. The following day another nail broke so I returned, not happily, for another fix. The girl I used normally failed to show up that day after being assured she could fix my nail and a different nail person was assigned the fix. She could not have been more unpleasant or rude. The entire experience was terrible with her complaining almost the entire time that she was having to fix another persons mistake. I left very upset and will never return. I have since located another salon that is far superior in quality of service. read more

Sometimes it's hit or miss. I've been there a few times and satisfied, other times, not so much. This review is for the last time I went, last weekend. New face, but seemed like she'd been there for a while, as some other customers knew her. She was nice, but didn't feel like she was a good nail polisher. I just got a polish change on my toes, and as she was painting them, I noticed my whole toenails weren't painted. She didn't paint all the way at the bottom of the nail bed. I mentioned it to her, and she said, that's how she does it because if she went further it would get on my skin and it wouldn't look as neat. I've never heard that before--but she said if you want me to paint further, I will. Duhhh, why wouldn't I want my whole nail painted, the normal way to polish is paint the whole nail right? I've always had that done and it doesn't look sloppy at all. And now that I'm looking at my feet, I realized she still didn't paint all the way down on some toes, and it looks as if I haven't gotten my feet done in weeks when the polish starts lifting and your nails grow out. read more

My nails look absolutely horrible!!! It has been only one week and my gel polish is chipping as I told the nail technician Lisa it would do as she was painting my cuticles. Any professional should know that when you paint the cuticle it's going to separate from the actual nail. Let me also advise that I was cut four times, three times on my left hand and once on my right. This was the worst experience of my life. I went to Avalon based on the reviews I read here. I went for a pedicure with my friend - it was wonderful. I was always asked if I was ok - if I needed anything - if the water temp was ok. Conversations were great - I didn't feel like I was being talked around. A great staff there. I went back the next day for fill-ins - same pleasant staff. Tina was wonderful and so nice. My pedicure was decent but my problem was the poor quality of customer service. I was walked from Avalon nail spa 1 to Avalon too when I was told they were not enough nail technicians at Avalon nail spa 1. When I arrived there I was promptly seated and asked what services I wanted. She assumed a manicure and pedicure but I told them a basic pedicure and my nails cutdown because I was short on time. The pedicure was very quick I was escorted to the nail dryer where it seems as though everyone forgot that I asked for nails to be cutdown. When I decided to leave because it didn't seem like anyone was cutting down my nails, I found out about the increase in price. The pedicure at Avalon nail spa 1, where I went initially, was 25 while the pedicure and Avalon too was 28. Why you ask, because they use hot towels at Avalon too. The receptionist seemed unbothered when I told her that was slightly ridiculous. There's too many nail shops for me receive piss poor service from this shop. Very lovely decorum though! read more

IF I COULD GIVE ZERO STARS I ABSOLUTELY WOULD. The tech talked me into getting liquid gel nails last Friday. I left to go on vaca on Sunday. One nail broke at the airport and by Tuesday three other nails broke. There was stuff that got in between the tip and the gel nails...ewwwww absolutely disgusting and could have lead to bacteria getting in it!!!! Paid $45.00 plus tip for a horrific job. Had to get them taken off ASAP!!! I will NEVER return to Avalon II. When I get home I'm going to speak with management about getting a refund. I was looking for a new nail salon in the area and saw the reviews for this salon. Unfortunately, I was not impressed. I think I'm allergic to acrylic or the gel polish because my cuticles become inflamed during or shortly after a fill, so I got a gel fill instead of acrylic. Cara stayed away from my cuticles and made sure the primer did not touch my cuticles. That helped a lot, but the gel was so thick it did not look natural. read more

Avalon Too is a great space! It has a nice decor and friendly staff. Amy does an awesome job providing great service and the prices are reasonable and competitive. Avalon Too is one of the better nail spas I have been to, and I'm extremely happy that I found it. I would highly recommend anyone give it a try. Everytime I am there, you can tell that the customers are genuinely satisfied with the service, and IF by chance something is wrong, they are more than willing to fix the problem.
