Just moved to Lancaster and I was struggling to find a decent nails salon since I am so picky on my nails. Followed Yelp's reviews to try out Avalon and let me tell you I am a happy camper now. My gel manicure said it all. I was treated very nice and professional by Max. He understood my needs and expectations. I don't like places where the technician pushing to be done with a customer, nor trying to upsell you to the point where your annoyed. I found that this place is the exceptional experience from what I have been trying. I also love the atmosphere and the well designed shop which doesnt have model hands pictures hanging allover the place. I have always wanted to get my nails done here as I attend a college near the location. I finally made an appointment. The accommodate all guests, whether you're a walk-in or if you made a reservation. I wish I knew the woman's name that did my nails! She was awesome. She was very serious and got down to business as soon as I walked in. I'm not usually one for small talk anyway, so I didn't mind that she was quiet. The only time she spoke was to ask about the service (what nail color, what length I wanted my nails, etc). I got a gel manicure and this was by far the best gel manicure I have gotten done professionally! She was very precise in not getting polish on my cuticles and if she did she would fix the mistake immediately. I was in the salon for about an hour. I loved that she took her time and was not trying to rush me out to get to the next customer. I would suggest going early afternoon or early evening because it does get busy around dinner time on the weekends. But, you won't be waiting for more than 15 minutes. Overall, this will be my new place I get my nails done! I made another appointment for another gel manicure, and this time I'm getting a pedicure because I saw the man that works there doing some of the customers pedicures, and it looked very relaxing and they do there best to accommodate you! read more

Avalon nails fit me in tonight despite me not having an appointment. After they initially said they were booked one of the workers volunteered to take me anyway. The salon was clean and the nail tech did a great job on my pedicure, I am very happy with the paint job as well as the awesome foot massage! $25 well spent. The gel polish I got is the one that lasted longest among all the other places that I've been and it never chipped. The only reason I had to replace them was because my nails grew. The only thing to remember is that THEY ONLY ACCEPT CASH FOR TIP. read more

I was very impressed with the cleanliness of the salon. I went in for a pedicure and full set. All together it took about an hour and a half. My nail tech was Amy, she did a fabulous job. My services were painless and she really took the time to make sure my toes and nails were just right. The sterile tools and wide variety of colors (both regular and gel shellac) made the experience even better. Highly recommend this salon! read more

I had one the most disconcerting experience today at this salon. When I arrived no one greeted me or even acknowledged that I was there. After about 7 minutes of standing there, one of the Asian women say "yes", and I went ahead and explained the service that I need it. She immediately started talking in her language with her coworker and never explained back if they could do it or not. After a couple minutes the lady came and grab me by my arm rushing me into the chair. As I was approaching the chair, there was someone standing in front of me, so I stop, to allow time for the other person to settle. The Asian woman, with my arm grabbed, went ahead and pushed me by my waist. I gently told her "please do not push me", it was a very uncomfortable situation for me. However, rudeness is not my main concern. I saw the Asian woman go from working with someones nails on her hands, to doing eyebrows, and back to doing nails without never touching a drop of water to wash her hands, or even using any kind of disinfectant in her hands. She was in such a rush that all proper hygiene and protocols went down the drain. Scary!! I will never go there again!!!!When I left there was no thank you or nothing to appreciate my business. read more

My mom and I tried this place and they are good quality. I have been to better salons (satisfaction wise) but overall our experience was great and we would return again. We were both very happy with our nails and the coats are even, shiny and look adorable! I would recommend Avalon :-) Only thing they could improve on is maybe being a little more welcoming / accommodating. Otherwise, 4/5 stars! read more

I often come to Avalon to get my eyebrows and upper lips waxed and they do a wonderful job.. I won't go anywhere else. I also have had my nails done several times and they always did a fine job. I don't have any complaints here. read more

I called earlier in the day and made an appt for a full set of gel nails. I was told to come at 5:30pm. I actually got there at 5:15 and was taken by Alex who was not very friendly. I again told her I wanted a full set. She began doing my nails as a manicure. I said no I wanted a full set. She said "I should have come earlier". I came when she told me. She slapped some nails on me. Worst set I ever had done. She put a powder coat on top and one coat of clear and said that's it. $35.00. I paid her but what a joke. I will never go there again. I went to Avalon last week for the first time because I had heard decent things about it. It's very nice and relaxing inside and most of the employees seem pretty nice. I never write reviews and the only reason I am writing this one is because I am truly disappointed and in a little bit of pain from my service! The lady that did my nails went to town on my cuticles which is nice that she obviously wanted them to look nice- (hopefully) that's what she was going for- but she went a little too hard. She cut two of my fingers and a few fingers are extremely tender. She didn't apologize once for this, and it was almost as if she was trying to hide it from me (she painted these 2 fingers right away!!) which is pretty rude to me. I completely understand this happens from time to time and I am not one to get mad about it- IF it's handled correctly. I didn't say anything because I felt bad, but when I got out and got a good look at my nails- I realized its the worst polish job I've ever had :( I feel awful saying this but I just want to let the business know what to work on! And she didn't even say thank you when I left.. It's not that she was RUDE she just wasn't the best with customer service. Wish I would have spent my $35 somewhere else! :( read more

disappointed with my visit !!!! went in for a refill and left very upset . my left hand actually look really good but every nail on my left hand is significantly longer than every nail on my right hand . i did not ask for gel polish yet she took it upon herself to paint my nails with gel. oh yeah how convenient , they charge $15 extra for gel! probably gonna reconsider this place next time! read more
