I'm not very modest or shy when it comes to massages, so again, not a problem for me. I know the importance of self-care during times of stress and grief. And my body and heart were both so sore. Ultimately, I decided to put up feelers to see if I could (safely) get a massage while in Pennsylvania. I did a thorough search of massage therapists around Lancaster, and was impressed with what I read about Rebecca at Enci Wellness. Not just her rave reviews, but the fact that she was taking extra precautions to keep herself and her clients safe. I filled out a Covid questionnaire beforehand--which I was happy to do--and Rebecca did a temperature check upon arrival. We both wore masks, and she was attentive and caring as she listened to me talk about my body's aches and pains. Honestly, before I went in, I wasn't sure I'd be able to relax during the massage. I mean, hell--I haven't been touched by anyone other than my partner for the last four months! But the bed was so warm, and the music so soothing, I found myself melting at Rebecca's touch. She was both firm and gentle, checking in with me to make sure the pressure was right, then providing a truly exquisite massage. Let's just say, if you have not had the unique experience of drooling into your own face mask, I highly recommend it. Somehow, Rebecca has managed to carve out a safe space in the midst of a very scary time. She even has hand sanitizer ready when you come out of the room! She gave me a way to heal and care for myself without unnecessary risk. I walked away feeling a million times better, and so very grateful. My recommendation? Treat yourself. You've survived Covid-19. You deserve it!
