I was one of the most faithful clients ever going here! Adored these girls. Kim is the owner! Her sister also goes by Kim. They will lie and say someone else owns this salon for bigger tips. I followed Kim from Park City to her salon. One day I was 2 minutes late. I couldn't help it from traffic. And I called too. She sat me at a dirty booth. Wiped the nail scraps right onto my lap, then slapped my hand!! I started crying. My daughters saw and called the police. They both lied and nothing was done. One of her employees from Laos called me to tell me she saw it and apologized to me. I've never gotten my nails done since. It triggers me thinking about what she did to me for no reason. I got a gel manicure(no acrylics, which is why the shape is not perfect), and I'm honestly very happy with the result! The nail artist who did my nails was very polite and soft-spoken. She took a lot of time to make sure she could perfect them as much as she could. My mother works at another nail salon where I can get mine done for free, but I didn't mind coming to this salon to get mine done for full price :). I have a nail salon in Lancaster that usually go to. Recently, I switched from Acrylics to OPI Axxium Gel Polish, so I went to Onyx for the first time last week. It is a small place and doesn't look like much from the outside, but the service was great! They seemed to have a great selection of colors and the nail technician showed me different alternatives for nail enhancers. I decided to stick with the OPI Gels. For ONLY $23, this woman cleaned up my cuticles, shaped my nails, (which were in heinous condition from the acrylics I've used for 5 years), lotion and massaged my hands and arms, dipped them in paraffin wax with a hot towel, and then painted my nails with the Axxium polish. That's a lot of treatment for $23!! Plus, she was so kind and helpful towards me. (Again, my nails were in bad shape) Now, they look healthy and stronger! I will definitely be going back there when I need another manicure or pedicure! read more

Okay, this is disgusting, truly disgusting, and I've only heard stories of this happening until now. Black toe fungus. I stopped in for a mani/pedi based on the good reviews-- the mani sucked (careless, sloppy girl), but the pedi was great-- meticulous, thoughtful girl. I had paraffin with my pedi, and was hesitant when I realized it was a large tub of hot paraffin that they use over and over again with many customers-- but I've had it before like that and not had any issues so it's worth a try, right? WRONG!! Never do this!!! The very next day, my two big toenails were extremely sore and continued to feel sore for days after until I finally removed the polish-- lo and behold, my toenails have turned BLACK!! Are you kidding me?? I started reading up on it and am treating them naturally, with tea tree oil @ lavender. This nail salon needs to do the individual baggies of paraffin-- there are disgusting fungi living in their salon-- maybe it's the paraffin, maybe it's unsanitary practices. I don't know, but I've got black toenails and I'm PISSED that I tried this place!! read more

Onyx, I love you! My friends and I used to go to a place in the mall all the time, but another friend of ours recommended Onyx so we tried it out. WE WERE THRILLED! The girls are all so friendly and funny. I got a gel mani and regular pedi, and it was all for such a good price. The pedicure was long, which I loved, and that included WINE, a lonngggggg leg massage (yay! no rushing here!), and they dip your feet in wax to make 'em nice and smooth. I had never had wax with a pedicure so I was really confused but it was nice that it was standard. Plus, my feet felt like a baby's bottom after so I'm not complaining. I'm sad I don't live in Lancaster anymore because I would hit this place up on the regular!! Y'all are spectacular! read more

I did not want tips, but the lady who was doing my nails proceeded to put them on my fingers, and changed the color polish I wanted. If you're looking for a quiet spa feeling this is the place. When I get a pedicure or my nails done I want to relax and have a calm atmosphere and this is the first nail salon I've visited in Lancaster that offers this. They were very safe, we called to be met at the door, our temperature was taken etc. and they had distancing in place as well as plexiglass. They were friendly and did a wonderful job. Called ahead regarding pricing for Gel Nails (Not Gel Polished), was given pricing for a full set and pricing for a fill. I also checked their website and the pricing was accurate. Although, when I went to pay for my Gel Fill (2nd Visit) I was told one price by Lily and the owner I believe her name is Kim charged me $10 more. She stated it was because I had Gel Polish not Regular Polish, which I was not aware that it was not included in the price. In my experience the polish is included in the fill. Please be aware that it is not all inclusive, but they fail to tell you this. On a positive note Lily did a good job. Although, I will not be returning to this salon. I had eyelash extensions applied by Kim last week and am LOVING them! No more runny mascara for me. Kim's attention to detail is amazing. She used the highest quality products so it is not harmful to your natural lashes. She applied 5 different lengths for a natural look. I walked in the door and was greeted with SINCERE pleasantries and asked if I would like something to drink. Wow...that's not the norm in this area unless you're paying an arm and a leg for FAKE service. I was even given help picking my color for me toes!.... On to the Pedi......I have finicky toe nails (inherited...thanks ancestors....lol) & I needed a place that actually took CARE of your feet and not just slap on polish. Andy did this for me. She got to the hang nails and took them little buggers out!...all the while asking if she was hurting me. (sincerely cared), she cut, she filed and re-looked things over to make sure all was good. I got a salt scrub message on my legs that smelled wonderful! After she was finished Mr Tom came over and massaged my legs and feet which helped me tremendously since I have plantar fasciitis in both feet. They feel wonderful! Afterward you get a parafin wax on yer footsies....aaahhhhh....soft and supple they are. :) The mani was a simple mani, no frills kinda girl here. She clipped, buffed, gave a hand massage and painted a simple color for me. The price didn't break my pocketbook and I was still able to eat that night...(haha). I went home and shared joyfully my experience and now I'm sharing with you! My husband and I scheduled a couples' massage for Valentine's Day at 9:15am. We showed up at 9am since there was less traffic than expected on the roads. The salon opens at 9am on Saturdays, and you could tell. It was highly unprofessional as stylists and employees scrambled around the office from 9:00-9:15am just to get the business up and running. We came inside and were not greeted for the first 10 minutes. Once our appointment time hit at 9:15, everything was professional and cordial. The massage room upstairs is drafty (so pretty cold in the winter), but well decorated, perfect lighting, and good equipment. The masseuses were pleasant to work with, professional, and good at their job. For a full body massage, I would say it was an excellent back/neck massage, good head and foot massage, and mediocre arm and leg massages. Overall a pleasant experience and worth its cost. read more

First of all our two favorite stylists are at this salon. However, even as good as they are I'm not sure we can go back. The organization and customer service from the owners and reception staff is terrible! We have three separate experiences. On one visit, there were 4 stylists scheduled and they only have three chairs! So the newest stylist made everyone feel uncomfortable as she ranted and raged. It made all the clients feel as if they were somehow responsible for this total lack of organization. On Thursday, we arrived for an appointment to find out our stylist was out sick, ever hear of a phone? So we rescheduled for Saturday. And shame on me I didn't take the initiative to call and verify! I should have done Onyx's job for them, because again no call, so we drive there only to find out the stylist is still out. What is so hard about calling your clients? So how long do you put up with terrible business practices for the sake of a stylist you like? read more

I have been waxed many times before from another place never had an issue and never hurt, had to go to Onyx because my place didn't have a time I could use. Pedi was bad, feet not even painted well. That's funny, my review from September was somehow removed??!? In response to Brittany R's message below, I was one of the bridesmaids that witnessed the truly unacceptable manner in which the BRIDE was treated at her visit to this Salon. The Manager was extremely rude to the Bride and very loudly yelled at her during her service in front of a full salon. The Bride cried multiple times simply due to the way in which the Manager treated her. I have NEVER seen a Manager of a business treat a CUSTOMER like this before in my life. She should be ashamed. What I will note is that the Manager repeatedly boasted about how Onyx was a "Five-Star Salon". Not only did the experience not reflect a Five-Star Salon service and atmosphere, but according to the ratings on this website, they ARE NOT a Five-Star salon. Amazing place to to go for your nails. They do exactly what you ask to be done. Lilly is precise and quick. In and out in 40 minutes for a nail fill. The staff is very nice and very accomodating. Extremely clean and just an overall nice experience. I have found my new go to place. There are alot of salons around and finally found a GREAT ONE.
