From the very beginning of the meal, there was a clear sense of precision, elegance, and intention. The opening presentation was stunning, filled with an assortment of beautifully composed small bites featuring oyster, mushroom, sea bream, and a variety of other seasonal ingredients. Each bite felt delicate yet purposeful, showcasing both technical refinement and remarkable balance. One of the most memorable dishes of the evening was the bluefin tuna moriawase paired with strawberries. Normally, fruit in savory dishes tends to feel distracting or overly sweet to me, but the execution here was exceptional. The chefs managed to create a harmony between sweetness, tartness, acidity, and umami that elevated the tuna rather than overshadowing it. It was a dish that felt thoughtful, restrained, and incredibly well composed. The consistency throughout the progression of the menu was equally impressive. Course after course arrived with meticulous presentation and a strong sense of identity. Every dish felt polished and intentional, balancing visual artistry with flavors that were equally compelling. There was never a moment where the meal lost momentum, and the pacing allowed each course to feel distinct while still contributing to a cohesive experience. That said, there was one course that completely missed the mark for our group. The milk and honey dessert, which resembled a sponge cake topped with a whipped goat cheese foam, was overwhelmingly pungent and difficult to approach as a dessert course. The intensity of the goat cheese dominated every other component, to the point where it felt less like a composed dessert and more like being punched by a goat farm. Looking around the dining room, it seemed we were not alone in our reaction. Interestingly, when we mentioned that this was the only dish we did not enjoy, we were told, "if at least 1 out of 10 guests enjoy it, we consider it a win." It was certainly an unexpected response, especially given how polished and thoughtful the rest of the experience had been. Even with that misstep, the overall meal was exceptional. SingleThread succeeds in delivering a dining experience that feels elegant, immersive, and deeply personal. Between the artistry of the presentations, the balance of flavors, and the technical execution across the menu, it remains one of the most impressive three Michelin star experiences in California.

Since I was just in Paris for 15 days, I booked this upon my return so that I could experience the American version of perfection. It is mind blowing how good it is here. Every course and every moment ... feels special and delicious. Americans have definitely enhanced the lifestyle experience. I know I like it in France... and I love it here at home! Maybe a bit more! I'm so proud that this is in our neighborhood. Feeling so blessed in this moment. Grateful for Chef who really makes a difference and really makes something special to remember forever. The restaurant is located in the heart of Fisherman's Wharf and you will definitely need a reservation. My family and I visited on a very busy Wednesday night and luckily we had reservations which were honored on time. It is a big restaurant that is elegantly decorated. We began our meal with the baked tomato bruschetta and two house salads. The bruschetta was tasty and they did not skimp on the tomatoes and basil. The house salads were the best salads we have had in a restaurant in a very very long time. Large portion and the perfect amount of vinaigrette dressing. We had two orders of the Miso salmon and an order of the swordfish. The salmon was out of this world. It came on a bed of white rice and other veggies. This might have been the best salmon dish we ever had in a restaurant. The swordfish was outstanding with the chimichurri sauce. All the portions were very generous. The service was friendly and outstanding. The prices were very reasonable considering the location. Put the Fog Harbor on your list because you will not be disappointed!

My bf ended up sharing his order with me because I didn't enjoy my Cioppino ($42.) The seafood was bland, all tasting very much alike, & the broth didn't give off that complex spicy tang that my favorite cioppinos possess. My table started with an appetizer of Red Chili Garlic Shrimp ($18) -- from the description, we were expecting a dry, possibly sautéed preparation & were disappointed that the shrimp were sitting in a watery broth. Though I was letdown by my picks here, I know my group enjoyed theirs. We were treated very well by our waiter & by the host who gave us a beautiful window seat; we enjoyed the view of the sun setting over the bay. Not a restaurant I'd regularly return to, but I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it (with a few caveats, of course) to someone looking for a sit-down Pier 39 meal.

They have seating inside and outside. My mother had been craving fried oysters so I took her here. For some reason, not many places have fried oysters. I think this was the only place in the Bodega Bay area. Not sure why that is. Anyway, the oysters were 5 stars for my mom. They came with a dipping sauce. I think it was the garlic aioli. I ordered the chicken sandwich special that comes with chipotle aioli. I traded that for the garlic aioli. It was loaded with thin slices of chicken breast. I'm not sure what type of bread they used, but it was perfect for the sandwich. When we first ordered, it was Ash who took our order. He's so energetic and friendly. He is part of what makes this place special. They have an attention to detail and service that reminds of the Garden Cafe in San Rafael. I will be back even though I have to drive all the way from Novato. :)

That's what my boyfriend and I ordered, and were satisfied (not to mention fueled for our hike that afternoon). I agree with other reviews that say it's pricey for what you get, but you'll still have a satisfying meal. The crab sandwich is real fresh, I kinda wish they toasted the bread, but would still recommend it. It came with a few slices of carrot that seemed random IMO, but still ate it. Also, you can't go wrong with the fish and chips! Service was straight-forward - you order and pay at the counter, then take your number to seat where your food is delivered. Most people were sitting outside on the benches, which is where you wanna be, especially on a sunny day with a view of the water. But there are also chairs and tables inside. Parking can be tight around here. The lot outside the restaurant is very small, and the street/back parking signs can be confusing. (There were cars parking in zones clearly marked with "No Parking" signs.)

We ordered the calamari as our appetizer and it was delicious. Lightly battered with tarter sauce on the side My mother was disappointed in the clam chowder. She said it did not taste good at all. So I suggested she just take it home and doctor it up (season it) to her liking versus not eating it, which she agreed. She enjoyed her cioppino and my seafood creole was pretty good. If you don't like mushrooms they are in the sauce. I happen to like mushrooms but did not expect to find them in this dish. I had the Butterfly Mimosa, which was really good and I could not taste the alcohol, which I appreciated. Service was prompt and friendly. I will definitley return. It sits in the back right off the water and has a very old time rustic look. There is no air conditioner, but they did have a portable one going. We sat by the window and it was fine when we first arrived but as our lunch went on, it warmed up, even though we dropped the shade. Not a complaint, just something to be aware of. We will return!
