    Couples Massage
    Ash G.

I honestly would not return at all to this place & I will proceed to detail my horrible experience...I came with my husband on Wednesday & my back is still hurting from the horrible massage I received from here. My husband surprised me & booked massages for us Wednesday 5/17/2023 & opted to try something closer to home. He booked it from here based on the reviews & maybe I just had a bad experience or others must not try different places out to know what a good massage is all about. For starters the price is a bit pricey in comparison to my go to spot. At my go to spot the couples massage is $65, here we were charged $80 & we still tipped our ladies $15 each. (Which I don't feel my lady deserved, but my husband is a generous man.) There is absolutely no calming ambiance about this place. There was no relaxing music playing like other places for the first 10 minutes or so into the massage & when I could finally hear music it was from afar. The couples room is smaller than other places I've been to, very small actually & I questioned how clean the room was. The walls are thin here so you can here the conversations going on around you. If you're looking for a calming spot this ain't it. Now for the massage itself I must say the foot massage was the only enjoyable portion of the massage, for that reason I give this 1 star review. My lady was very rough on my back & when using one hand to massage my neck her other hand was pressed down hard on my lower back. I told her off, but I don't think she heard me so I moved my body for her to get a hint. She was also rough when doing the scalp massage. My head is still sore from how rough she was on me, but my back especially is still bothering me. I'm currently having to ice it & put on Salonpas pads on my back to deal with her messing me up. The lower back is hurting me the most, but in general she was very rough on me. At some point my lady & the lady massaging my husband started chit chatting away in their language (not English) & were laughing it up. I'm all for being cool with your coworkers, but not while you're on the clock & are doing a bad job at that. She only used hot stones for a minute & she didn't even let them rest on my back for a bit like at other places we've gone to. That's the part I look forward to the most & the fact she just rubbed them quickly on my back & discarded them without letting them lay of on my back was downright dissatisfying. The worst part was that they kept the damn drape to our room open when going out to get the supplies & here I am just in my underwear!!! I was face down ass up & the sheet they use to cover your butt this lady tucked it in my underwear that she lowered half down so half my ass was exposed!!! I wouldn't have noticed since I was face down but I had an off feeling & I got up to check & sure enough the drape was left fully open. Anyone walking by to use the restroom or being taken to a room could've seen my exposed rear. I immediately pulled my undies up & sheet. I wish I would've taken a picture but I didn't have my phone near me. It was in the bin with my clothes under the massage bed. I find that extremely uncomforting, & truly inconsiderate towards customers because there's other people walking around. I'm by no means a prude, or shy about my body, but I'm also not into exposing my body for all to see. When being massaged I enjoy my husband's & my privacy & this place FAILED to provide that. A few tips to whomever runs this place please teach your staff the importance of providing privacy to your customers, get more speakers for your establishment & play relaxing music to create a calming ambiance, & tell your staff to not give rough massages unless a person wants deep tissue (which I did not ask for) I believe this place has potential, but I would never ever return. First & last. This review is 100% my own personal experience

They do walk in appointments without issue. I called at 12:15 and agreed to do a one hour massage at 12:30 for $50.

It had gotten so bad that I couldn't even move my arm behind my back to button or zip my dress. The stiffness and pain were overwhelming, so I decided to try a deep tissue massage at a local place near our house and I'm so glad I did. We found Grand Massage in La Mirada and decided to give it a try since it was local. We called ahead, and they were able to take us as a walk-in within 30 minutes. We arrived for a 7:30 PM appointment (they close at 9 PM), and the experience started off smooth. The atmosphere is dimly lit, calm, and relaxing, though not overly fancy, more quaint and comfortable. What stood out to me was the music lol it wasn't the typical spa sounds. Instead, they played soft instrumental versions of artists like Elton John and Cyndi Lauper, which gave it a unique and surprisingly different vibe. My daughter and I did a couples massage, and they placed us in a cozy private room together. ‍ The Massage Experience: My therapist, Sunnle, was absolutely amazing. She asked about my pressure preference, and when I said I was in pain she offered medication (which I declined) but I did ask for a deep tissue with firm pressure, and she delivered! She worked through the knots with precision and strength, even using techniques where she applied deeper pressure from above the table. I chose the 70-minute combo (40 min body + 30 min foot massage), and every minute was worth it. The hot stones added an extra level of relaxation and muscle relief. My daughter had a 60-minute full body massage with Yoyo, and she said her experience was just as great. The Results: This is the part that shocked me... Immediately after my massage, my range of motion was improving. I could move my arm again without that intense pain and stiffness. I felt like a completely different person! Pricing: * My massage (70 min combo): $55 * My daughter's (60 min full body): $50 * Total: $109 for both of us That is an incredible value, especially compared to high-end spas that charge that much for just one session. Important Note: Tips are expected (not optional), so just be prepared for that. However, the service absolutely deserves it. Final Thoughts: If you are dealing with pain, tension, or limited mobility, I HIGHLY recommend this place, especially if you can book with Sunnle or Yoyo. This was hands down one of the best decisions I've made for my health and body, and I will definitely be returning. 10/10 experience. Relief, value, and results!

Be prepared to be harassed to tip over 25% -- and when I mean,…read moreharassed, I mean cornered by your massage therapist, the front desk lady, and the male manager with your debt card being held hostage unless you tip more. I understand that times are tough for everybody, but asking for over 25% of a tip, then becoming disgruntled and refusing to give me my change or debt card back while and calling Mangement is a very poor reflection of this business and how they treat their employees with their hourly wage if they even get one. The entire experience was very uncomfortable. There's not much privacy so when you're undressing, you better hope that there's not someone walking past cause they can obviously see you through the thin curtains. The environment had roaches in the bathroom. It was rough. The services were OK maybe a 7-8/10. I tipped 20% just to get my debt card back and leave. I won't be coming back here because how awkward, tacky, and unprofessional my experience was. Responding to the "owner" below: I know how to do math. Therapist got 20$ cash (broken from $100) after refusing to accept my 13$ tip. I paid 105$ on my card -- I even went as far as to show your therapist the math on a calculator on my phone to try to communicate the reasoning behind my tipping. You left your therapist out to dry instead of trying to help communicate to her, you walked away. Customary tipping in the United States is between 12-15% aka $12.50 - $15.75. This is supplementally to their hourly wage. Trust me I'm not anti-tipping, I just don't agree with how I was mistreated. For outstanding service: then the tipping would be 15-20%. Which by the way, after you three harassed me your therapist STILL got $20 just for me get out of the establishment -- so good on you for making people feel uncomfortable and unwelcome, your therapist still got what she requested, so remind me what the issue is? Furthermore, $20 USD is equivalent to ¥136.57 CNY and ¥ 3143.71 JPY as of closing today, which is well over what the standard wage within both those economies. Also -- why are we quoting ¥ when I paid in USD -- are customers suppose to be paying in different currency? Totally fine if we are but I was not made aware of that and it seems you and your therapist got a fair compensation per USD and ¥ standards. I'm a business owner too -- and my employees see tips as just extras because of their proper compensation, I do that intentionally so situations like this don't put my customers or employees in an uncomfortable situation. The conversation would have been different if you and your staff weren't so rude. If you read the review thoroughly you would see that the issue wasn't the therapist's service per say. The issue was the following in more detail, since a simple "sorry for your bad experience" is no longer a thing and you've insulted me -- the customer: - it seems like accountability is a new concept to you -- meanwhile you left your therapist to fend for herself with her bad attitude and not knowing how to communicate with the customer. Her desperation for an additional $5 is alarming, which is where the comment of "IF SHE EVEN GETS AN HOURLY WAGE" came from. This whole experience must have been stressful for her too especially without proper training or support. - Interesting how the male client that walked in while I was at the front trying to pay and leave was treated much differently. ALSO, interesting how you felt the need to respond to my review when there was another negative review right below this one. I wouldn't go as far as to say sexist and racist behavior -- but this response shows for itself. - AND be sure to properly display the licenses of your establishment AND your therapists' licenses from the California Massage Therapy Council (CAMTC) at the front of the establishment. "...massage therapists must display their original CAMTC certificate (not a copy) in a conspicuous, public place at their workplace. This is typically in the reception, waiting area, or a visible location at the entrance" THIS IS THE LAW and I certainly didn't see any of the many therapists' state issued licenses anywhere in the common areas. - the questionable working environment with employees napping and bugs in the facility is the least of the issues, although upsetting is fixable. I fear this place has other more important issues to address. - the ATROCIOUS behavior you all exhibited in response and your therapist's harassment. Your defensive response shows for itself, instead of being a keyboard warrior, lead by a better example for your employees. Everything about this experience has been sketchy especially now realizing there weren't proper documentations displayed and your behavior in response thats not warranted.
