My wife and I were there with another couple while we were all on vacation. We met one of their bakers, Christine, who was very cheerful and welcoming despite starting at 3am to start baking. Middle of the road good old fashion pizza. No complaints . They also have lots of gourmet pizzas also . I'm not a big IPA fan, and most of there beers are IPA's , double IPA's . I got a sour . It was good . There is a bakery attached so we got two pastries to go , and also attached is a full service restaurant ( Johnson's ) we stopped in there for desert, my GF got the kids ice cream which is huge ! And I saw Tuesday $1.00 oysters so I had to get 6 . Also very good . Even though it's not part of Northwoods . They sell all there beers . I'm pretty sure it's one big business. Broke down to three separate businesses. They got you covered 100%

Funky Bow Brewery is definitely one of the most unique breweries I've ever visited! We stumbled…read moreupon it while driving around the area and decided to stop in for a drink. Important to note: they allow dogs. And while we LOVE dogs (we couldn't resist petting the ones running around), I can see how this policy might not be for everyone. The dogs roam freely and off-leash in a large indoor/tented area, which can feel a bit chaotic. A couple of things I wasn't thrilled about: the brewery is cash-only, and there's a $3 cover fee. For what? I have no idea -- there was no live music or anything like that during the hour we spent there. As for the drinks, the beer was... fine. I had the IPA, and while I didn't love it, I'd probably drink it again. The highlight was the pizza. It was phenomenal and made up for some of the other lows.

We tried almost everything on the food menu. Pizza is shockingly good, as were the wings. I also appreciate they give you pretzels while you wait. Perhaps because the wait is long but they're making everything fresh. I wish the ranch was homemade. The cold root beer on tap was a highlight. Plenty of both indoor and outdoor seating. Staff is helpful and friendly. Can't wait to come back.

We wanted to stop for ice cream next door and were also hungry. Upon investigation we discovered…read more(or so we thought) that we could order the food from the ice cream place and have it delivered to this place. Of course the ice cream place was packed so we opted for this. Unbeknownst to me, there was an upcharge since this place isn't really related to the ice cream shop. It was all a bit confusing. It was really hot inside so we opted to sit outside on some barrels. I ordered some chicken strips and a hot dog, with fries. We also ordered some mozarella sticks. I had ordered the hot dog since I wasn't sure how many chicken strips I would get, turns out three chicken strips would have sufficed. The hot dog was the kind with thick skin that I had to ungraciously strip off before I could even take a bite!! Once the skin was gone the hot dog was good. The chicken strips were OK, somehow a bit too processed for my preference. Fries unremarkable. The ambiance was nice, we had a fun time laughing on the side of the restaurant. I might come here again if the weather was better, it was SO HOT inside that it would not have been habitable for me. I might try something different next time.

I love the people that run the place. They' don't seem interested in shaping impressions as much as they shape their beer.
