The hotel we stayed in for many years had a change of ownership, etc., and we wanted to try something new - the Lodge of the Ozarks is what landed on! We returned this weekend for a similar trip over the Fourth of July during the 250th anniversary of our founding. Given the newer layout of the road system in the area, and our places of choice to visit, we found this a great destination that was easy to reach despite the hordes of holiday traffic. The hotel is moderately priced, and the rooms are large with plenty of handicap accessible spaces, all in the area of the public spaces, and of course, plenty of options for those who need access accessible rooms. They offer a very nice breakfast with a large breakfast area and an indoor pool as part of their property. They also have several large spaces throughout the facility that are easy to use as family gathering spots to eat a meal together, etc. The property is very comfortable and we have certainly enjoyed our visits. We would plan to come back.

Upon entry into the simple and cozy lobby, Tom greeted me immediately with a smile. Check-in was quick and easy. He was very friendly and amicable. Thank you for the warm welcome and great service! This relaxed resort has multiple buildings. There are external stairs, but no elevators. Free self-parking. Seasonal outdoor pool, year-round hot tubs, fitness center, basketball & tennis courts, and game room are primary amenities available for guest use only. We had a one bedroom unit plus a pull down murphy bed in the living room. Room was clean and organized. Carpet was a bit dark and could use a wash. Kitchen was small, but fully equipped with kitchen essentials and dishwashing detergents. Bathroom had complimentary bottles of shampoo, body wash, hand soap, and lotion for our use. Always nice to have a washer and dryer in the unit. There was a fireplace. Small patio with table and chairs. Overlook from the patio was of vibrant green trees... not much of a view. This will be our only visit at this resort since we don't live nearby. We only added this stay as part of our trip because we were in MO. Grateful to have stayed here. I got to check off one more WM resort on my WM resort adventures list. Highly recommend for anyone who loves vacationing in MO. Enjoy your WM stay! Btw, I attended a WM owner's update (always happy to attend them) on the day of check-out. Jonathan was able to extend our checkout by an hour. Thanks for accommodating! Our stay at WorldMark at Branson was extremely disappointing due to a serious cleanliness issue…read more Late one evening, we discovered bed bugs on the shower curtain in our unit. This was alarming and completely unacceptable. We immediately contacted the help desk around 11:30 p.m. to report the issue. Unfortunately, we were told there was nothing they could do at that time and that a manager would be emailed. No alternative accommodations, inspection, or immediate assistance was offered. Because of this, we felt we had no choice but to cut our trip short. We were staying with family and friends and had activities planned for another full day, all of which had to be canceled. This was especially frustrating and disappointing right before Christmas. A situation like this should be handled with urgency and care. The lack of response and support only made an already stressful situation worse. We expected much better from a resort of this reputation.

Last night, there was a party with a live band (particularly terrible drummer BTW) right under our room until after midnight. It was so loud in our room that we couldn't watch a movie, talk to each other, or sleep. We could only put in earplugs and wait for it to be over. I could still hear all the lyrics through the earplugs, that's how loud it was. We are leaving a day early, even though we have already paid for tonight's room, because last night was so miserable. The hotel has effectively made this first floor room unusable on nights when the club right under it is open (W-Sa), and we were certainly not informed when we booked at their full price rate that this VERY LOUD party would be happening basically IN OUR ROOM UNTIL AFTER MIDNIGHT. Just ridiculous. I would not book the New Orleans Hotel first-floor suite again and would not recommend it to anyone else. As far as what the hotel should do to improve this problem: do not rent this suite out on nights when you are having loud parties right under it, and refund my money for this unusable hotel room.

I've stayed places in (DOWNTOWN) Eureka and couldn't get a hot shower to save my life. We filled up the in room hot tub both nights and it was glorious!!! Another positive mark: when I called, I got a live, engaged person on the other end. Not some reservation bank somewhere or some minimum wage person just biding their time to go party. Most of the hotels in Eureka charge a premium resort rate for rooms that were just mediocre at their best with no reinvestment in upkeep over the years. This was okay when travelers didn't have other options. After talking to locals and taking in the huge turnover in downtown storefronts, it is obvious the model is unsustainable.
