On my way home from Mount Rainier, I was informed by another Autozone branch that they do not accept any returns on tire chains (if interested, please see my other review). I was frantic since I only had a few hours prior to my flight to figure things out. Thankfully I called this Autozone branch in Renton and was assisted by the manager, Fernando. He was very kind and understanding on the phone as I had explained my situation. He said to ask for him and confirmed that his store would accept my return (as it was unused, as consistent with the Autozone return policy). When I got to the store, Fernando knew it was me (as I had carried in the tire chains). He personally assisted me and took care of processing my return. I felt very lucky to have received Fernando's help. It definitely made my day! Thank you to this Autozone store and shout out to Fernando for helping me out. Came here to write a review, and then discovered that others had already noted the rude, unprofessional behavior of the employees here. Eating snacks without bothering to put them down to talk, being unhelpful. I told the one guy at the register that the price had rung up wrong. It should have had the marked clearance price, I explained. When I asked him to go over with me to take a look at the display, he seemed irritated. He said that the 6-7 items I pointed out that were marked as clearance were mislabeled, in the wrong location. I asked him why they weren't correcting this. Got no answer. I asked if I could still get the clearance price - the price that was actually listed. He said no. Asked to talk to the manager to see if he could OK this. He said he was the manager. Later on I got no reply back when I wrote the district manager about this. They don't care. read more

I'm independent guy and usually do minor installations myself. I was in a motorcycle accident a year ago and still recovering from injuries so doing installations my aren't feasible for me at this time. I needed some LED fog lights installed on my truck. Odie a young lady at the Renton Rainier Autozone step and really helped and installed them for me. She went out of her way to make them right even zip tying the hanging harness wires. Auto Zone Alternators are JUNK! I purchased a NEW, not refurbished alternator for my Acura from Autozone back in April of 2022. Six months later on October 21, 2022, it started acting up. The alternator I replaced back in April appeared to be the same brand. It failed just after year after I bought this car which was only driven less than 4k miles. Duralast alternators are garbage! Auto Zone's return policy is basically non-existent. They will trade you for replacement piece of junk, but then you'll be stuck in an endless cycle of paying for labor to replace this part every 6 months to a year. It's a money pit and a trap. Years ago, I replaced my alternator using the same brand for my Toyota. Afterwards, I would receive a high pitch feedback through my car speakers. It was very annoying. I should have learned my lesson then. I do not recommend any alternator from Auto Zone, O'Reilly's, etc. Save yourself the headaches and time wasted by staying away from these places! Have your stock alternator rebuilt or buy genuine parts. Believe me and you will thank me for it. read more

After half an hour with no one helping me, I went back in, only to be told they were just too busy. Mind you, I was the only person in the store. These people are dead-eyed idiots. I've been able to receive above-average help the past couple times I've been in. Usually, I'm treated like a moron female. Not to say that I know my way around a disassembled Mustang... but I know the difference between my radiator and the gas tank. It's very clean and bright. BUT... "The parts you can count on to keep it going" Well, that is fine if you don't mind paying and paying - before you spend your money on a part at Autozone - check out the same parts at NAPA or O'Reilly Auto Parts before buying at Autozone... Example: A lot of "replacement" parts are made by Dorman, the parts from Dorman are usually reasonable quality for for the price. They also usually have a warranty of some sort - often it is a lifetime warranty. In many cases Autozone does NOT honor/service that lifetime warranty - you have to send the parts back to Dorman at your expense. However - at O'Reilly Auto Parts and NAPA - you just take them back to the store with proof of purchase and they hand you new replacements. So shop around - many times you can get the same part for about the same price from some place other than Autozone - and have the piece of mind that if the part fails after 90 days, but within the mfg warranty, then you'll get service. With Autozone - the answer is: Since it is over 90 days, we will gladly sell you replacements for your item that has a mfg lifetime warranty. read more

Horrible service! Very unprofessional. I would not recommend this location. The person that helped me was on her phone and lighting up a cigarette at the same time. On top of that, she stole $20 from me when i was purchasing my supplies. She thought i didn't know how much cash i gave her and then she gave me the wrong change then said i wasn't paying attention cos i was distracted on something else. He noticed some corrosion on my battery while under the hood and offered to check my battery for me. After finding that the battery was in good health he cleaned the corrosion off my battery. i returned a head light and fuel pump yesterday and the whole team was so incompetent that this regular task was damn near imposiible to complete. i provided my printed reciept as well as my email conformation and this info did not speed up the process. i was asked several times if i had already returned this item ( the item was purchased on autozone.com and was sent to the store to be picked up by myself. they pullefd the item from back and proceeded) as if i was a thief . i proceeded to ask for the manager ( beacause there is no way that this routine task should take over 35 mins to do)and to my surprise i was already speaking to the manager lol. i knew it was nothing but bad news from there. the manager proceeded to attempt and give me a refund of the price of the lighs for the store price. the price that i paid was over double the price in the store ( have no idea how that happened but it did and i had the reciept and order number to prove it.) obviously i was not going to go for that and wanted to be refunded the exact amount that i paid. the manager was getting pretty irate. i recieved my refund and was told that i can not get a reciept for my refund!!! do not go here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

I've been here a few times for basic parts since this this location opened and have been impressed with the friendly staff behind the counter on all but one occasion. There is rarely a line and you can get in and out quickly. Most recently, I stopped in to grab a couple of oil filters and asked if I could borrow their OBD2 diagnostic unit to check on a fault code that caused my check engine light to come on. The parts manager explained that since there were only two employees on duty and one of them couldn't leave the store to run the OBD2 diagnostic on my car I was out of luck. I offered to leave my driver's license as collateral, and after thinking about it he countered that I should leave my entire wallet. I understand trust is a two way street, but I was still surprised that he would expect a customer to be up for this. I refused on principal and prepared to leave the merchandise on the counter and trudge off to the other auto parts store where I knew using the diagnostic equipment wouldn't be an issue. Fortunately, the manager relented and realized the average person isn't stupid enough to trade their identification for a piece of equipment they were planning on stealing. In the end, I returned he OBD2 and got my ID back and he apologized, explaining that someone had in fact stolen this piece of equipment from them about a month ago. I'm sure getting ripped off sucks and I understand where he is coming from. Hopefully they can figure out a system to continue to allow their customers to borrow these specialty tools in the future that doesn't make their customers feel like they are being perceived as criminals and keeps their property form being stolen. read more

One guy so busy talking to his buddy about his rap album he couldn't acknowledge us. The person that usually helps with quick installs couldn't be bothered. Apparently removing one screw is hard. I've been here only a handful of times, but have always found their staff extremely helpful, and prompt with providing attention to the patrons who come through the door. I was especially impressed last week, when I came in to get a turn signal bulb replacement, and the cashier offered to assist me with changing the bulb. Unfortunately my car was such that it wouldn't be a quick replacement, but I was thoroughly impressed with the offer. I'll stick with AutoZone as my go-to for any car parts needs. I came in to have my vehicle's charging system diagnosed. I turned my vehicle off and I was dead in the water (parking lot). Joe's staff determined the battery was good which led me to trouble-shooting the connections. I had no tools with me but with their assistance I was able to do the repair right there in the lot. Kudo's to Joe and his staff. Joe is a stand-up dude through and through. We need more people like him in or community. I will do all of my future business with AutoZone!!! read more
