This location is not good. Parking is terrible since everyone is parking for walmart. They had no type of filters for a kia soul which was shocking. And to top it off, one of the workers told a customer to buy a specific size of windshield wipers to only have the customer come back and tell them that they were the wrong size. i now hate all autozones anywhere because of this awful place we were told the day before that it would be fine to do our oil change in the parking lot and that they would take the oil after we were finished. we came back the next day to do our oil change at about 6 pm. well the filter was screwed on too tightly and we went in to ask for some help only to get told by the dumbest, attention starved female manager "sorry any other time of the day would have been fine but there's only 2 of us working right now." WHICH WAS A BULLSHIT LIE, we counted the amount of workers working and there was at least 5-6 workers right in the front room. my boyfriend kept having to go in and out buying the same tool in a different size, because the people didn't know what the fuck they were talking about and kept giving him the wrong size and telling him to test it and just return it. not only was that really irritating, it took them 10-15 minutes to check out 3 people THREE people, so each time he went in he had to wait 10 minutes to get it returned and to switch it out. the last item he bought, the man didn't give him a receipt. he went in the lady said "sir you've been in and out of here many times and I KNOW he gave you a receipt, so i can't return this to you" REALLY? why do you think he has been in and out of here? because you're an incompetent manager who doesn't give a shit about the customer. if you would have just let your worker help, which he was fully compliant to do so, this wouldn't even be happening. after all of this shit, he tried to take the oil to them being refused, and getting yells of "WE'RE CLOSED" when they were still moving merchandise OUTSIDE of the store. this was the most bullshit of the whole night. i went in and asked "are you seriously not going to take this oil?" and all she said was "sorry we're closed" as i see more things being taken outside, meaning, THEY WEREN'T GOING ANYWHERE ANYTIME SOON WITH THAT SHIT OUTSIDE. basically the worst experience in my life with auto places and i will NEVER go back again. don't waste your time after 5pm. read more

Went in this morning to get some break lights. There was one pack left! Luis was nice enough to set them aside. Then Omar was kind enough to install the lights for me! Not only had he already helped customers right before me, my car was being difficult and refused to cooperate. But he knew what he was doing and he was very patient and sweet. I had bought snow chains in Oregon and opened them but didn't use them and they said that was fine to still take them back however, I no longer had the credit card I used to pay for them with. This place suggested I call my bank first just to make sure I get my money back and since my bank said it was fine I was able to get my refund. I just think everything about this experience was great since everyone working there was super nice and considerate and everything was way easier than I had anticipated especially since I was able to return everything and get the refund. read more

I did have an issue where I bought an oil filter here (Mobil 1)... when I got it home and opened it, it had an old Fram in there... not quite what I paid for. Clean parking lot, helpful staff, lots of things to choose from, and the prices are average for in the area. The only thing that I don't like is that they refused to take our used oil since it was not in a "used oil container". So we simply went out to the parking lot, found 4 used oil containers, and transferred the gunk so they would take it. read more

Sunday the 6th of July my car broke down and Michael went above and beyond anything to help me. I was on my way from Los Angeles to San Diego and my tire blew. Not only did he replace the spare tire with a smile and great attitude but he gave me written directions to a tire place down the road and was very concerned for my safety. He was super nice, professional and kind. They don't make people like him anymore. He wouldn't take a tip . He just wished me well. I can't thank him enough for all he did. I don't know why I gave this place a third chance. This Autozone is TERRIBLE. All three times I have gone in here they have given me the wrong information, have no idea what the name of parts/tools are and have terrible customer service. Avoid this store at all costs. Save yourself multiple trips or a waste of gas getting a place that will give you wrong information. Don't bother calling ahead to ask if they have a part because how can they tell you if they do if they have no idea what parts/tools are called? This place is a joke. I was so happy with the service that Roy gave me this weekend. He was really helpful and actually came out to my car two times to see if he could help solve my problem with my turn signal bulb. I really appreciated his kindness and thoughtfulness. I had gone to three other auto parts stores including another Auto Zone and he was the only one who tried to help me. On Tuesday June 15th, 2015, I had a job interview in Carlsbad, CA. I drove all the way from Arizona and stayed the night in El Cajon. I went up early in the morning and got into Carlsbad about an hour early. I decided to stop at the nearest Starbucks for an espresso. I sat and drank my coffee and watched the visitors come and go. About 11:00 I got into my car to leave & it wouldn't start. I tried messing with it, jiggling the battery cables but nothing helped! I was beginning to get nervous. It sounded like it could be my battery but maybe it was my alternator...? I called the assistant who set up my interview, but to my dismay there was no answer. I left a message and then immediately emailed her explaining I was 11 minutes away and having car trouble. I walked inside the Submarina & could find nobody to help me. I asked a gentlemen who was spraying bug spray around the building and he told me to walk a few blocks up the road & I would find mechanic shops. I was praying to just find a ride to my interview. In desperation I tried to quickly make an uber account but it just wasn't going through on my phone. I finally approached a young lady running with her little daughter in a jogging stroller. She looked like a local & she looked nice. I explained my situation and she hurriedly scurried her daughter into her car seat and the stroller into the back of her SUV to give me a ride. What an amazing woman! She explained that she couldn't be late picking up her other 2 children from Vacation Bible School but would give me a ride to my interview. As we were driving, the Assistant called me from my interview and said we'd have to reschedule. I was devastated. Tears ran down my cheeks. I had come all this way for nothing! At this point I was only 10 minutes late. But I guess I understood. I was dropped back off to my car, where I called my insurance company. Within an hour or so a tow truck arrived and 2 very nice gentlemen gave my battery a jump. It started. Thank God! They told me to drive up the street and get a new battery @ O'Reilly's. I went inside and asked the man at the counter to help me. He said it would be a few moments. I waited an hour! No lie! As I watched them help 15-20 people before me, I was getting a little upset. My day has sucked enough! Finally I spoke up & a guy came out and popped my hood. He said "this isn't our battery, you need to go to AutoZone up the road." I left so upset. As tears (again) ran down my cheeks, I drove to AutoZone in Oceanside. I had to call because I couldn't find it. A very sweet young lady gave me directions and I found it no problem. I walked in the door and she acted as if she was expecting me. She came right outside and checked my battery. She was so nice and listened to me complain about my day & she was sincerely sympathetic. She looked at me & said, "This battery is bad." We went inside and she put my info into the computer. I knew it was still under warranty, but when I saw the price of $141 for a new battery I was sick to my stomach. I was on the phone seeing who I could borrow $ from... when the gentleman & this young girl told me that the battery I purchased in AZ (that was in my car now) was not the correct battery size that was even made for my car! Huh? So, They replaced my battery free of charge! OMG, what a huge blessing!! I was praying all day the repairs weren't going to be outrageous. I seriously had no money! I hadn't even eaten or drank anything all day! I only had enough money that morning for the espresso I had purchased at Starbucks! By 5pm, I was in my car with a brand new battery heading back to El Cajon. It was an extremely stressful 6 hours out of my day but I'll take the happy ending. Thank you to the very sweet girl at OceanSide AutoZone for the new battery & thank you AutoZone for taking such good care of this customer. You turned my horrible day completely around! You will forever have my business and I will never step into another O'Reilly's again. That's a Promise! read more

Bought a $280+ dollar Optima yellow top battery last year. They were very eager to take my hard earned cash. Today my truck won't start. I hook up my voltmeter and reads 11.18 volts. With the engine cranking it puts out 4 volts. I've taken photos and documented the process with help from a friend. This is clearly a dead battery..very simple, very basic. This battery is covered up to 36 months and if it goes bad it should be an easy process to bring back to the store and get a replacement. THIS IS NOT THE CASE. Come into the exact location where I bought this battery last year. I place the battery on the counter and let Mr. Steve Anguiano (manager?) know that I bought this battery here last year and now it's dead and I would like to exchange it for a new one under 36 month warranty. He goes to the back and gets his voltmeter and confirms the battery is dead. He rings me up and tells me it's $280+ dollars..for a new one. WHAT?! NO I SAID I PURCHASED THE BATTERY HERE AND NOW ITS DEAD I WANT TO REPLACE IT UNDER WARRANTY. Oh ok.. should just replace it and be on my way right? NOPE. He tells me that he needs to charge the battery first in order to warrant any warranty. WHAT?! I read over their warranty policy online as well as Optima's warranty policy for in store purchase. NOWHERE DOES IT STATE THAT THE BATTERY NEEDS TO BE MANUALLY CHARGED BY THEM IN THE STORE PRIOR TO WARRANT ANY WARRANTY. HE ALREADY CONFIRMED THAT ITS DEAD! He then tells me it's ok and should only take a few mins. Ok, wait a few minutes and then comes back and tells me it will take about an hour and a half. YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME. So here I'am at AutoZone stranded with a DEAD BATTERY, being held hostage with a DEAD BATTERY, wasting my day waiting for this DEAD BATTERY to charge for almost 2 hours. IF YOU ALREADY CONFIRMED THAT THE BATTERY IS DEAD HONOR THE WARRANTY AND LET THE CUSTOMER BE ON THIER WAY. They don't want to simply replace it they want to charge a dead battery for hours and hours (After waiting for 1.5 hours, Arnold Seko other manager told me it can take 4+ hours because their other big chargers don't work. Why didn't Steve let me know this to begin with?! Was he just going to keep me standing in the store for 4+ hours and not say a word to me? Finally got Arnold Seko to replace the battery. He proceeds to slam the battery on the counter - twice. Holding back my laughter, I thought to myself, was he trying to scare me or something? Is this fool for real? Anyways, I've bought batteries at O'Riellys, and Pepboys - they confirm it's dead with their voltmeter and you are on your way - no being held hostage, wasting your time, or even better try to intimidate you. THE ABSOLUTE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER ENCOUNTERED AT ANY AUTO PARTS STORE ESPECIALLY FROM A SO CALLED "MANAGER". Time for this location to re-train and re-examine both manager's conduct and their non-transparent policies. Will file a complaint with the Autozone regional local office in San Diego as well as the BBB. This garbage needs to stop. Shameful and disgusting. Never again. read more

I got everything I needed but the man with horrible acne that helped me had a stank attitude and I had to ASK for help because I was barely acknowledged. I had alot of questions and he was very short. Then when he grabbed some of the stuff I needed he told the girl standing at the register to 'take care of this' and walked away. She didn't say anything the whole transaction and handed me my receipt. I barely yelp but..........I must say..... because you hate your dirty job don't take it out on me! Garbage employees! They are uneducated on the right procedures and don't want to take any accountability for what they say. Went in and needed to return some items on a commercial account that my buddy was nice enough to let me use. I made a point of telling the guy that was helping me about the friendly gesture and that I needed cash in hand, to keep the parts, or have the funds sent back to my personal card since my friend told me he didn't have access to the commercial bank account so to make sure 1 of those 3 options happen so I wouldn't lose my funds. The guys exact words were "It would go back on my personal card (the one I initially purchased the items on) and not the commercial account". I asked "Are you positive?" Which he replied "yes". So after a week and a half of not seeing anything In my account I went back in with my receipts and talked to the same guy. This time the story was completely different and the funds went to the commercial account to never be seen again. I asked the guy why he lied to me just looking for an honest answer. Which in response he comes right up to me like he is trying to square up and gets mad for me calling him a liar. Keep in mind this is an elderly man so I don't know what he thought he was going to do also how unprofessional it was. While this is going on I get surrounded by 3 other Autozone employees right in my face telling me I need to leave and step away from the old guy. Please note I was not being aggressive or raising my voice, just wanted a damn good answer. All I was asking was why he lied which translated into asking the manager as they where trying to muscle me out why he doesn't train his employees properly? Maybe I should have whooped some ass and went to jail I would felt satisfied at least. Now I'm just out of my hard earned money and parts. F these guys! read more

I've been hesitant to go back to autozone after getting some really bad parts that failed quickly, and some bad customer service like barely being able to speak English, But I had to post this experience because I do feel like they are finally getting it back together. I called looking for injectors on my 98 GMC, got Mike on the phone and we went through all the usual part look-up and putting part on hold. When I got there I wasn't aware of the part upgrade and since the new injectors looked fairly different I was unsure about the part. Mike took the time to do some research on his own phone to be sure that the part would work. All in all about 15 minutes of his own time. That was the first time in a couple of years I left a parts store that certain that the part I had was the right one. Everything went together great and could not be happier.
