Amazing staff! Credit to the manager who motivates his people to go the extra mile. In my instance, my Ford F150 had a bad battery. They went out to try and swap it, but the posts were too corroded, and there was fear that if they removed the clips from the battery posts that the corrosion may be too bad and it wouldn't start. Fortunately, Moises was willing to take the chance and promised me that if anything went wrong, he'd fix it so he gently removed the post, took off the corroded clamp, installed a brand new clamp reinstalled the new battery and my truck fired right up. He then ran system check of the charging system and everything came back great. So hopefully it was just that corroded clamp. Thank you all for your help in your service. My my experience with AutoZone on Oakdale there's a service agent their name Sal he was so helpful he tightened my connections on my battery for me and and put my a brace over my batteries man it really saved me from a bad experience that I could have experienced so I just want to give a shout out to Sal and a good God bless you. read more

My husband and I purchased a car battery here and took it home to put it in my car. Unfortunately we couldn't get the casing that was around my battery off to replace it with the new battery so we jumped started my car and took it back to auto zone hoping someone could help us. Moises was amazing. He took the time to come out to the parking lot to give us a hand. He was able to get the casing off and get the new battery installed. I came into the store to purchase a couple hundred dollars worth of parts that I needed. When I first walked in the store there was a display for water and I grab a bottle of water. After I open up the water and started drinking oh, I asked an employee if they had any hand carts to which I was told no. I tried shopping in the store but it was impossible juggling a phone a wallet car keys in my hands, I came in wearing a pair of bicycle pants with no pockets. Because I didn't have a means of carrying items up to the register, I decided it was best that I shopped elsewhere. I went up to the register a woman said to me are you done? I said yes and I placed the item on the counter where that she could reach it by then reached into my wallet and was starting to pay her when a young man came from behind the counter and started yelling at me because I wasn't on the other side of the yellow lines. The way the lines were set up it led me to believe I was supposed to enter that area and pay for the items and then exit but unfortunately they had chosen to not keep the chains up all around the area where they were trying to create a 6 ft zone. As a customer how was I to know what they were doing, it's not my fault that their employees were lazy and didn't set the lane dividers up properly. The man who was yelling at me was being inappropriate, he could have simply said it just one time instead of yelling at me and expecting me to jump right away. Because I wasn't moving fast enough due to being injured, my inability to move fast enough was not satisfactory according to him. I told the rude Hispanic young man that I would not be back to the store they would never see me again simply because I didn't appreciate how rude he was to me. I simply needed a hand cart so that I had something to place the items I wanted to purchase in. I'd rather go to Walmart where I get parts and I'm trusted as a as a customer and not treated like a feast. The employee had the nerve to stand there and tell me that it was beyond their control that they didn't have hand carts. Are you serious? You mean to tell me that you cannot go to the owner of the store or the manager of the store and tell them that our guests are needing hand carts to carry items up to the register? And you wonder why small business are closing up? POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE! Fortunately Wal-Mart is close by! read more

Went in to get a battery checked and it was probably the worst customer service experience I've ever had. Female manager (working the evening of 12/13/22), shorter build with long dark hair. We were the only ones in the store but she made it seem like we were the biggest inconvenience to her night. After she checked the battery and let me know it was a good, I continue asking her questions about my car and what could possibly be wrong with it and she was answering my questions as she was walking away. I've been going to this particular Autozone for some time now and today in particular was an experience to talk about. I was originally greeted by a younger man later turns out to be a new employee, ones my questions became too much for him a more experienced employee decided to take over. She was excellent at finding, directing and recommending products that I was interested in. Went to another company to order a gas tank and I kept getting the wrong tank over and over and losing out on $75 each time. I gave up for a year and finally went back to try again. Luckily the company was having issues with ordering my tank again. I came into auto zone on Oakdale rd and was assisted by a young lady named Maria. With out asking she went above and beyond to look up my part number to make sure I was getting the right part this time. She also looked up the part number I was given by the other company only to find out IT WAS THE WRONG PART AGAIN. Autozone usually hovers between Kragen and Pep Boys. Its not as nice or customer oriented as Kragen but its levels above the amorphous blob that Pep Boys is (see my review of PB for more details). Now I only went here because Kragen was out of the item I was looking for. So I get my said merchandise and stand at the register, which is unmanned. There are two workers running the parts counter and one other person who was just kinda doing whatever. I see one of the parts counter guys come over my way, flanked by a customer. So I figure he'll help him first and then me, as I've been waiting patiently. No, he just opens the till, hands him his core charge, and heads back to the next waiting customer. Not a "Someone will be here to help you soon" or a "I'll be back in a minute", no acknowledgement of any sort. So I threw the item down and left. Kiss my ass Autozone. read more

Staff is rude and knows little about cars or the parts they are selling. My order for a part was cancelled twice by their "system" within a week. Uh-huh... Oh and I got a new distributor from THIS Autozone and didn't pass the visual inspection on my smog inspection because the vacuum unit was broken and glued back together. I took it back to them and they tried to say I did it. Why the fuck would I try to glue it together when I have a fckin lifetime warranty on that part? Anyways, the assistant manager can't get his car to pass smog, so that's a clue. O'Reilly's is only a couple blocks away. Go there instead or hit up another Autozone branch, but stay away from this one. It's a nightmare dealing with these people. read more

Too bad I even have to give any stars! I ordered an axel last week and had to give a credit card to place and pay for the order. I called when they said it would be in and was told that the part was logged in and that I can come to pick it up. When I arrived I was told that the it was signed for but they couldn't find the part so they told me to return the next day. I returned and they said that the part had to be reordered but that it would be in today. I called before going today and was told the part is in. When I arrived at the store, they made me wait 20 minutes only to return from the back and say the part is at the Paradise store!! These people are UNPROFESSIONAL and totally INCOMPETENT. If you do business here you're probably as STUPID as me!! Once I get my part, I will NEVER do business at any Autozone anywhere!! read more

I recieved the best service here a few months ago. My battery was dead and I needed a new one installed before school got out so I could pick up my kids. I forgot his name but I think it was Randy (?) was super friendly and got me in and out of there in 20 minutes! He even looked up my battery's age to verify warranty info and got me credit towards my new battery since the old one was under warranty! Great help, great service!!!! read more

I have had a ton of work on my 2000 Volvo S40 (not the easiest car to find parts for), within the last year, and I have had nothing but great service from this location. Not sure when the other reviews were written but since about July 2011, I have had only exceptional customer service. I have ordered about 9-12 parts, about $2,500-$3,000 worth, on my car and they all arrived on time and I got a phone call each time from the store manager stating my part was in the store, and in fact it has always been in the store. I have had the store manager look under my hood, and help me out with the little things that I did not need my regular mechanic for and has stayed with me to show me how to change out switches and other little things. I am very grateful for the service I've received from this store. Thank you to everyone! read more

They are not entitled to change out a battery or headlights but they do it anyways to show their appreciation of their customers. My batter died and I needed to get it replaced since it was old. After over an hour of back and forth with AAA and Scenic Towing, with hearing rip off prices (you can see my review for Scenic Towing, they are horrible). I decided to call Auto Zone to see how much they would charge for a new battery. One of the workers offered to drop off a new battery during his lunch break if I paid for it over the phone. I was beyond amazed at how kind the man was that offered. Unfortunately for me, I couldn't wait until 5:45. So I got a ride to go buy some jumper cables from them so I could get my car started. The girl that was checking out customers was very friendly and helpful. I was finally able to get my car started and was able to return, and the other man who was working there helped me get the best battery for my moneys worth. He not only helped me get a battery with a longer warranty than AAA was offering me, for a lower price, but he installed it for me and everything. When I decided to buy something to fill up my ac unit, he got me the cheapest one and he took care of helping me get that filled and everything. I tried to offer him a tip and he politely refused. He was so awesome, and turned my stressful and shitty day into a much better one with all his help and his kindness. This store was absolutely great. And I have went to them several times before over the years, and have always had great service, but nothing quite like this. Truly amazing. I hope their district manager takes notice, and hopefully forwards it up to corporate. Great customer service is definitely hard to find in todays time. read more

I came to grab a set of bulbs. I walked right in and grabbed them and went straight to the line. One cashier was helping someone on the phone and the other was helping a customer. In the middle of her transaction, she took another phone call which is rude if you're already helping someone. By now, there are three people in line. After she finished her transaction, she neglected the three people in line and spent five minutes on the phone with the customer who called after I had been standing in line. Words of advice for the managers and employees, help the customers who are at the counter in line with money ready to spend. They took the time to come in. Treat them with the respect they deserve. If there's not enough people to help at the counter, hire more to man the phones. I will go down the street in the future. read more

In January of this year I had an appointment at the VA just down the street. My battery died and was stranded in their parking lot. I had no idea what to do and after a short prayer decided to step out to the curb and see if there was a auto store of any type near by. I could see a small group of stores about two blocks away and soon found myself at the AutoZone. I told the young lady at the counter about my need and without hesitation she helped me. I purchased a battery and another clerk drove me to my truck. He installed my new battery and took care of the old, He even took time to clean up the cables and make sure it all worked. I offered him a tip and he said it was his pleasure so I knew I needed to post something positive on Yelp in recognition of his customer service so I asked him his name, His name was ANGEL! I used to go to oreillys for years. But one day I went and the were very busy and I was in a hurry so I drove down to this autozone instead. They were also busy but we're very helpful. Jessica helps me when I go in and she is awesome every time. When I first started going she was always wearing a red shirt. Now the last few times she has been wearing a grey shirt, I think she got promoted. Let me tell you it was well deserved she is awesome. She has knowledge in what she selling and is always very friendly. The last time I went there I needed a part that they didn't have in stock she ordered the part and said it would be at the store the next morning. I thought ok I can wait for 1 day. Well a few hours later I get a cAll from her saying the part came early. She looked up my phone number from my warranty information and called me to tell me the part was in early. I was very impressed and will always ship at autozone because of the wonderful customer service I receive every time I shop at this store. read more
