AutoZone always has super friendly staff on board! This one was no different. My dude friend and I were driving back to his place and on HIS agenda, he was to fix the air in my car. He said... if we pass an AutoZone, let's stop in so I can do it. Well... here's the AutoZone we saw, and we went in. I wish I remembered the name of the man who helped us, as he was super helpful! My friend isn't the most easy-to-get-along-with customer but he did a great job with him... well, ok, my friend behaved in this store too so it was a win-win situation. I notice that they try to sell you the most expensive product when there are comparable products which are the same thing, and cheaper. A friend was helping me buy a battery (jumped my car and drove over with me in case it needed a jump on the new battery). While we waited in line at the parts counter, he said "I really like this place and want to buy something every time I'm in here. The people are so nice." While waiting to pay, one of the employees asked whose car that was in the lot because he really liked it. We talked for a little bit outside while I was installing the battery and he was very nice, friendly, and seemed like an excited car guy. It's true, the people that work here are great. read more

Tried to convince me that my car had oxygen sensors numbered in the opposite order (upstream 2 and downstream 1) when all cars are upstream 1 and downstream 2. When I pointed out the mistake and asked for the correct sensor I needed (sensor 1) they refused to admit the error and cited the order in which their computer listed the sensors. My brother (ASE certified manager of an Autozone in another state) clarified for me and sent me diagrams to help explain to them the error, they still refused to exchange the part. I go to Advanced Auto Parts or the Autozone in Edgewater to avoid any what can only be described as stubborn ignorance. Can't trust an auto service that doesn't know the basic order of oxygen sensors on a 2 sensor car. read more

This is the worst location I have gone to, the most pathetic excuse for an Autozone. I have pissed away the entire morning. Not only did I have to wait several hours after the estimated wait time for a brand new battery to be delivered but when it was finally delivered it was only at 68%. I've come here before and the folks were always fine. This time, I had, what I thought were, battery related issues. Juan came outside with his battery tester, gave it a once over, and let me know the battery was fine; which meant I had to take it to a shop and couldn't buy anything from them. I like being able to buy car parts at 3AM.

After I had to car jumpstarted, I went into AutoZone right away to get my car checked. It was soon revealed that I needed to get a new battery. Orlando, the Parts Manager made sure I got the right battery I needed, and was incredibly helpful and supportive during my time with him. He got Dennis to get the battery in, and was just so down-to-earth, and professional. I was quite impressed with the service and how well I was taken care of during that time. WARNING DO NOT PAY SPLIT TENDER WITH CASH!! They will not give you your cash that you paid back!! I went in for an exchange and my first transaction I paid with a gift card and lastly with cash...I went back to exchange my initial item with a lesser priced item THINKING I would get MY CASH that I Paid with at first back...the return amount was even LESS than the cash amount I first paid!! They would NOT let me get MY Cash that I Paid saying that their system "chooses" how the customer is refunded...WTF?!? This is STEALING! I Paid CASH I want my Cash that I paid back NOT on a gift card!! Whats ridiculous is again my refund was LESS than the cash amount I handed over to them in the first place!! We ordered a STARTER for our car and this stores MANAGER said that they will deliver to the Bolingbrook location--- Bolingbrook location NEVER RECEIVED the part so when we called back, they said their driver was in a car accident so it wasn't delivered and that we had to come here to ROGERS PARK . We came here and they said no driver was in an accident and that the part was delivered to BOLINGBROOK - Bolingbrook is NOW CLOSED . And missed work all for this hassle! Worst place EVER ! read more

The Manager Mark was very helpful in getting a part they did not have in stock the next day from Wisconsin.

I've been here twice so far this year, each time i had to stand around for 10 minutes waiting for employees to bother to do their job and ring up my purchases. Both times i've seen several men just standing around in back of the parts area talking instead of helping customers. Most recently an employee at the parts counter spent 5 minutes making small talk with a customer even though there was a line of people waiting to buy things, and i had another scold me for taking a package of hose clamps off a display shelf behind him instead of standing in the parts line for 15 minutes so he could hand them to me. Both times the checkout registers have been unmanned and the only people who can check you out are the people at the parts counter. Just go to the O'Riley store on 7300 N Western a couple blocks away, since they can actually bother to move customers in and out of the store instead of trying to making a simple purchase of hose clamps take 15 minutes. read more

Where can you get a new battery at 1am?? Autozone on Touhy. The staff was extremely pleasant and helpful with replacing my old battery. Mackenzie J checked to make sure it was just the battery and replaced the old one in less than 20 min. You guys are awsome!!! read more

This place rules. I layed around allllll day (love sundays) and around 4 went to my car to go to work. Turned the key and nothing happened. Shit. Called in and luckily my gf was able to jump the car. Went to autozone, they tested my battery for free, and after i bought a new battery they installed it for free. Now i know thats part of their service but the 5 stars are because every single person i dealt with was really, genuinley nice. I even offered the guy who installed my battery a tip and he just smiled, politley declined and said he was just doing his job. Overall went from super shitty day to oh well shit happens. I am thrilled to say that yesterday I had a very good experience at AutoZone on Touhy Ave. Generally, I have found this place to not be particularly well-managed or well-staffed. But yesterday an exceptional employee--Chris M.--assisted me and was happy to do so. She was highly professional and focused on installing new windshield wipers for me, and it wasn't a particularly easy job! I wanted to give her a cash tip but she declined advising that management won't let the employees accept tips. Therefore, all I can do is advise her supervisor, Edgar, of what a great employee he has in Chris M. Hope he gets the memo. Thank-you Chris!! read more

Got to my car at 11 pm and noticed one of my headlights wasn't lighting up. I've replaced headlights before on different cars, and it's been a hassle, so I wasn't looking forward to it. Driving home, I realized AutoZone was still open. Hey, turns out it's open 24 hours, which is bizarre for an auto store to begin with, and even more so in a kind of isolated location. But hey, I'm not going to argue with a store that's available whenever you need it. I went in and told them what my car make and model was, they instantly found the part for me, and even came out and installed it for me. The guy who helped me, Sergiu, was fast, professional, and friendly. The whole process took less than 10 minutes. Compared to the last auto parts store I lived near, where the staff was surly and unhelpful, and there were giant signs everywhere saying you couldn't install auto parts in the parking lot, this felt like a weird sort of miracle. read more

Just not a good store. Have had several problems with their crew giveing me the wrong parts. On my last visit for Bosch wipers, they gave me the wrong fitment and size. I challenged the employee and he said "Don't worry, it will work." I thought he knew something I didn't. Wrong, he didn't. He even looked up the vehicle I was buying them for and still gave me the wrong ones. Maybe reading and number association skills are not required to work at this AutoZone. When I returned them, an employee name Dennis, who in my opinion is one of the only employees who has any knowledge, tried to help. As he was trying to assist, one of their employees burst in nervously asking his manager for immediate assistance on new VDub he thought he fried a wire on trying to get a reading. I'm pretty sure the kid didn't use a vag com, let alone known what one was. Too many bad experiences there and every time I'm at this store someone is always complaining about the service, staff or something. The only saving grace is that the store is on my way home. One last thought, the customer service is pretty bad,; be lucky if the staff even asks you if you need assistance. Sorry, I give praise when it's due and for me to write a negative review takes a lot. My advice, go elsewhere. O'Reilly is a few blocks away. read more
