Not sure if I caught a lady named M----a (hidden for privacy purposes) on a bad day, but her service was terrible as she was extremely rude and unhelpful. She also is uninformed as she did not understand the warranty I had left on my defective battery that won't hold charge above 9 volts the past year. Based on the verbiage on my receipt which stated 3 years free replacement and a total of 5 year warranty period, I was okay with not getting a free replacement but I still had 2 years remaining coverage. She only wanted to give me 10% off credit to purchase a new battery. I showed her the fine print on my receipt and explained to her that it clearly stated the following: Battery credit is calculated as follows: (Remaining Warranty Months / Total Warranty Months) x Original Price (Note: similar verbiage appears on the website) I had 2 years remaining (out of 5 years) which should have been 40% off. I softly explained to her that this is what her company, AutoZone's policy states, however rather than trying to reread it and understand the policy, she chose to just dismiss it. She then gave me an attitude and mentioned that the best she could do is 10% off the purchase of a new battery and basically take it or leave it. I hope this lady can get retrained on company warranty/policies but most importantly on what good customer service is. I'm pretty confident that I am not the only one who's had a poor experience with this individual. read more

today is 02/08/2024 at 10:40am . this morning around 9:15am I went to store picked up the parts , what was order yesterday a. the guy name's JONATHAN, But I receive email from autozone said ready to pickup , JONATHAN said not ready yet and he still said the white truck is delivery outside now , told me waiting for him received outside , but is not true , he go out to smoke and fun talked with guy delivery . I went back inside and give to other guy my order , he gave to me the parts inside the cabinet right away . I told him , JONATHAN did not want to do the job , guy was protect him said he cared about the job . after receive the parts , I ask him paper receipt , he said he don't have and he send receipt by email ready . now is 11:02am , I am still not receive my receipt . I think this store don't have customer service , don't have good worker in this store , because last year the service is the worst in auto zone . AutoZone off Georgia Ave in Silver Spring??? Trash So I needed new windshield wipers. I'm winterizing my car, so I figure I can hop over to get some wipers really quick. I forgot what size I needed, but no problem because all of the AutoZone places I've been to usually help me out. I walk in....no greeting.....cool. I don't really care about being greeted no way, plus I'm only in there for a minute to grab these windshield wipers. So I head straight to the wipers..... theres no book to show me what wipers I need. So i'm sitting here like dang, what wiper sizes I need. Meanwhile in the background theres all types of music blasting with cuss words going off. That don't really bother me because hey....I listen to hip-hop.... thats fine. So still just waiting for someone to help me...... no one came. So I eventually just look on my phone. This the new age of technology right? So i find out the size wind shield I need but I still wasn't sure. So I'm about to buy the wipers and I ask if they can make sure I have the right ones. The cashier says no problem....turns out I have the correct ones. She asked if I'm an AutoZone member.....nope I'm not.....crickets...... ummmm are you going to tell me what thats about? Can I save money on something? Nope .... all i got was the total. Normally I don't care about all this stuff. I got what I needed and I was gone. However the last AutoZone I went to they treated me like I was an A-list celebrity. So i'm mainly writing this so that maybe they can be like their other store counter parts. Maybe it'll help. The battery to my key was dying and I needed to have it change. I knew the dealership should be able to help but decided to ask around before I went to Bethesda for the battery key. I went to auto parts down Georgia and they couldn't do it. They couldn't open the knob to see the battery side. So before I drove to the dealership in the rainy weather visited auto parts. Waited my turn and the gentleman whose name I forgot, was able to open the knob and install the new battery. And made sure it was working properly for me. So glad I came here. Purchased a car battery in March of 2015, 2 year replacement.... battery failed today, took it in to be replaced, warranty is active until March of 2017. they couldn't find my number or even my information in the system, they wouldn't honor the warranty or 2 year replacement. Absolute joke, I paid 124.99 for it and they won't hold up to their advertised warranty. not going back. read more

I visited to get a diagnostics test ran for my CEL. It's something that's advertised as being free, and "at select locations", though no other information is given on their website or over the phone. I arrived right after sunset and waited in line for about 15 minutes (only 2 staff members were present), only to be told that a diagnostics test couldn't be run since it was already after dark. I completely understand that this is merely a safety and security issue (I wouldn't follow a stranger out to their car at night, either, and I wouldn't leave a coworker alone in our store during operating hours). That being said, it's also a policy that should be mentioned both on their website as well as over the phone when a customer calls to inquire about it. Regardless, I came back the next morning and had the test run without any issues. The staff (the same people who were present the night before) were friendly and very helpful, and the woman who helped me went out of her way to make sure I had all the information I needed. Thus, the two stars I would've taken off for thin staffing and not stating a policy clearly, becomes only one star taken off. I'll come here next time I need something in a hurry. read more

On Sunday 3/28 I had the privilege of changing my alternator, once I finished I took my Core back to this store for my refund. I was grossed out by how dirty the store was, then the associate Joshua was ready to take care of me and this is when I noticed he was sitting down behind the desk, and he did not even have a mask on, nor did I see one pulled down as if he was drinking something and forgot to pull it back up. This location should not be allowed to function during this pandemic if associates are not going to do their part and wear protection. I will never step foot inside this store again. read more

really terrible experience. The management doesn't know how to manage. The prioritization of the problems of the customers was really sad. It definitely was not on a first come, first serve basis. I was confused about how the apparent racial prioritization was made. It seemed that if you spoke in spanish to the manager you could get immediate help. quite bothersome. I went to Autozone to get new taillights. First off, they were pretty cheap; I got 2 new sets for about $11. Then a young lady helped me insert them. She took the time to figure out which bulbs were fading (turned out, all of them.) I think if I were to take this somewhere else, they probably would have charged extra to put those suckers in. Took the box back, and no, of course there's none in left in stock. We called corporate and were assured one would be delivered to our store the next day. We went in (third trip to the store) and picked it up, got it home, and found it smashed to bits. We called corporate again, and they never bothered to return the call. And don't you know, when we returned home with the broken screen cover, we also discovered that the cashier retained/stole our receipt, so now we have no proof of purchase. But, you know, who cares? I purchased a Duralast battery 2 years ago and it died less than 2 year, first the product really sucked to see such a short life for car battery. Second the store denied for replacement/warranty since i did not have the receipt. That was very disappointing to see such good brand name and company have really rude customer service. The general tone of the employee was very rude and hurtful and one of employee was showing air quote "Warranty" and i find that very very rude and annoying and so unprofessional. This store usually has everything we are looking for. Came in on a Saturday and found a $62 car jack for $25, so that was awesome! It wasn't busy at all, but we encountered a rude employee. Her name was Maria I believe. My boyfriend asked for his receipt, she said she ran out of paper asking if we really needed it. He said he would like it, and she countered by saying it's in our purchase history and we don't really need it anyway. He repeated that he would like to have it on hand, then she turns around and mumbles that we don't even need the "damn" receipt. Because I was looking for this specific brand tool and this specific model number AND traveling a long distance (& told him so), I asked him if he would mind just putting his hand on the product to be certain that it was actually in stock. He said he would check, then put me on hold, and then said he had it in his hand would leave it at the cash register for me. After arriving I discovered "Amer Lopez" had intentionally lied to me and that the tool I wanted was NOT in fact in stock and that he had substituted an inferior tool that is sold all over town by every other auto parts supply store for less money. Thanks Amer and Autozone for wasting two hours of my life by intentionally lying to me, you unethical #@$&%$@ a**hole ! Oh, also be prepared to wait a long time for assistance while 90% of the staff ignores you while they engage in personal conversations. I visited this Auto Zone earlier today to pickup a couple of small items, I went to one of several cluttered counters with a computer and was ignored by two employees who were well aware I was standing patiently there listening to them enjoy their conversation until I realized i had to speak up and interrupt them. Apparently they think they are invisible or magically silent if they speak in Spanish. Like another review stated they seem to only care if you speak Spanish, once they knew I did they finally appeared willing to offer me their half-ass service. Once I was paying, the cashier saw I had a military id in my wallet and offered me a military discount, I didn't ask for one since it was only a small purchase; when he called over his manager "Terrell" "Tyrell" to put in a password to authorize the discount he looked at me and asked "are you sure your in the military?" Why because I haven't trimmed my mustache the 2 weeks I've been on leave and I'm Mexican in a large Salvadoran community area?! I found that very disrespectful to my current active duty service and my cultural heritage. That would be as out of line ignorant and disrespectful as me asking him "are you sure you're the manager, because well you are black and that's not too common?" Don't attempt to get a military discount here unless your wearing uniform, have your I.d. Tags, enlistment contract and copy of your enlisted records brief. I will never shop at this auto zone again. Prejudice, disrespect and laziness is what you're going to find if you go to this auto zone. Shop elsewhere. read more
