The front team members here are awesome! I feel bad because I didn't get the first guys name who I spoke with, but knew he was a manager. Really nice and helped me with my problem. Beth & Adriel were great at checking things under the hood for me. Adriel was training Beth on how to work the testing system. They tested my battery, starter & alternator. Both very friendly and helpful. They had to run the test a second time since it wasn't picking up certain tests being done. My battery was good (since it was replaced in Jan 2018), but my alternator voltage was low. So I bought my alternator from them. Once I bring back the old alternator I'll get my core return of $50 back. $238 for an alternator and taking to Pep Boys to have it installed. Great staff and clean shop here. What a terrific experience I had today thanks to employees Jon and Melvin. (And the manager too but I didn't get her name). I needed a new battery for my Ford E150. These guys were very knowledgeable about their products. They asked the right questions and when I was confused about the differences between two products that I thought were equally adequate for my vehicle, Melvin stepped in and explained the important differences in more detail. He recommended the right product to me. The manager also intervened when I was making the purchase, because there was also some confusion regarding the discount that I was counting on. The confusion was my mistake for not having noticed that the discount was for online purchases only, but the staff was very courteous and understanding of my expectations. What a pleasant visit this ended up being. I recommend this shop for anyone in need of automotive parts and supplies. I will certainly return. read more

09/01/2022 This is my story with this company. Bad experience today. My son and I had bought 2 antifreeze reservoir tanks and other parts for his 2012 Volkswagen Golf at the Flower Hill Location, Gaithersburg. On July 13, 2022, we went to Advanced Auto Parts and bought a water pump, valve car gasket set, valve cover 1 pc, 2 serpentine belts, antifreeze, and a reservoir tank($482.11) On 8/25, our mechanic came to our house to install all the parts. So when he got home, he immediately check all the parts to make sure they match the originals. When he realize one of the belts did not match, I stopped what I was doing ( working remotely) and went to Advanced Auto to return it. When I got there a very nice lady helped me and checked her system and realized it was the correct belt according to the label. She then smiled and told me the label had the wrong belt. She immediately got me the right one. Suddenly my mechanic called and advised the other we bought was not the correct one neither. Since I did not have it with me, I couldn't return or exchange it. So I decided to buy another one. The young lady advised to return it when I had a chance. So I went back home and hours later, the mechanic explained the reservoir was not the correct one for the car. Once it was installed the car rejected it. The coolant light started blinking on the dashboard. So again I had to stop what I was doing and went back to the store and bought the correct one and returned the belt that I did not need because is was not the right one. When I got there a young man helped me. He checked the system and I immediately purchased it along with a hose clamp. He also helpEd me with the returned of the belt. I was thinking I had the correct tank this time. But Nope ..it was the same product. By this time it was 4pm and the mechanic was done for the day. Minutes after I went back to the store to return it with the hose clamp. Same guy that helped with the purchase helped me with the return. I decided to order ( reservoir, clamp, and more antifreeze )through the Volkswagen dealer. I paid about $10 -15 more but it was ok. Today our mechanic returned to the house to install the reservoir tank I bought from the dealer. It fitted perfectly! Around 7pm, I stopped at Advanced Auto to return the first Reservoir . The same guy from last visit helped me. I think he is the manager. He said they couldn't take it because it had " been used" and said that it would have been too late to return it even if it was not "used ". I asked him to speak to his superviso. He went to the back and said he spoke to his manager and said he said the same. He accepted the belt that I bought on 7/13 on 8/23. I told him the tanks that I had bought were defective and even showed him proof of the purchase from the dealer. Same wrong product sold twice. He said it was even too late To return. I told him to tell his manager that the receipts do not have a return policy so that was not a valid Excuse. Not going back to any of their stores ! read more

Never go near this store. You will first have to negotiate a jacked up parking lot, full of "Customers" doing car repairs on the lot. Keep in mind that MS-13 "Owns" this area. Once you make it into the store, you will have to wait behind a long line of Clearance Bins for assistance. If you don't speak spanish, you are probably SOL here. Definitely NEVER place an online order. They will charge your card, but the clerks can't run a calculator, much less their order system to hand over your part. Ask for help or a supervisor? None available, and the clerks no nablas when you ask for the next level. I had to call the 877 number myself at the store, and have a customer service agent call the store to tell them how to do their job. read more

Don't EVER come here. They are absolutely disrespectful. Worse service I've ever received and were no help! They told me to bring my car to have the battery charged didn't explain that there was any possibility that they couldn't so i brought it and they told me once i got there that they couldn't charge the battery. Left me stranded in the cold AND WOULDN'T EVEN JUMP MY CAR SO THAT I COULD GET HOME. read more

Every time i go here it takes so long to get help or attention. It feels so unorganized and some guys are nice some are just rude. Phone service sucks too. Placed an order around noon. Got the email that order will be ready in 30 minutes. Waited until 2 hours later. Called the store to inquire if items were ready. Told to come and pick up items.
