I put on my big boy pants and insisted I could do it myself. His instructions were so good, I didn't need the Youtubes. I came back a couple days later for something else and he remembered me. I'm not talking about some fake scripted over-friendliness, I hate that. He had a bit of a crotchety air about him that exuded competence and world weariness at the same time. The sort of attitude that comes from knowing what he's doing coupled with having to spend all day talking to people like me who don't. Kind of like those great neighborhood ACE hardware stores of yore. You can waste a lot of time in area auto parts stores that don't seem to think customers should be bothering them, or you could come straight here and get what you need.

I went in and got one part fixed and was told if it continues that they would just fix the whole shifter. i was also told my warranty was up in 6 days and i just so happened to be going on vacation. of course i get back from vacation and my car starts to do the same thing again. upon calling the main service area, i was told there was nothing they could do as my warranty was up. i eventually was able to talk to the service manager, nick. he was understanding about the situation and worked it out for it to be under my warranty and fixed the car for free. Before dropping it off, the car started. i was bringing it in for an unfinished repair (so it didn't at the time of bringing) but has been a great daily driver every single time. After their work, I was handed back a vehicle that would not start at all -- just a single click. Instead of taking responsibility, they immediately tried to blame: * a starter that was replaced two months ago (ACDelco), * and hinted at a battery issue, despite the battery being less than 6 months old. When I pushed back, I was told they would need to re-diagnose the vehicle at my expense -- for a problem that did not exist before they touched it. That's unacceptable. To make it worse, the car was clearly started, moved, and washed after the repair, yet returned to me non-operational in their parking lot. There was zero accountability, zero ownership, and a whole lot of deflection. The most embarrassing part? The issue was resolved in their parking lot, in front of them. A dealership charging dealership prices should not be returning cars that don't start, then asking customers to pay again to diagnose their own workmanship. If you value your time, money, or sanity, I'd strongly recommend going elsewhere

Turns out I have a bad battery and it can go anyday now, but was in the early stages. He was straight forward with the options available for a new battery and the recommendations based on my battery situation. He even printed them out for me.
