I've been meaning to write a review for the awesome people that work here. For the past 3 months my car was a struggle, the alternator died on me and fried my car battery multiple times. Each time I took it to auto zone they were helpful with either calling in other auto zone's to check if they had a part that this one didn't carry all the way down to giving me suggestions on a few places to change the alternator for cheap price. The employees here are super insightful. I felt like I was learning to do things rather them always depending on them to install something for me. I really enjoyed the hands on experience. Absolutely horrible store. They sold me the wrong size parts 3 different times. I am out the money paid to a mechanic to repair my car. Yes I got my money back on the parts, but not the rest of the money I am out. Then to top it off the store manager is very rude. No wonder the rest of the employees are rude. read more

I had a great experience with the staff there this morning. My car battery had died and I was towed to this location. John has told me over the phone, they would replace my battery if I purchased a new one there. He came out right away and started swapping the old for new. He really did go above and beyond. He had some difficulties with another part and Junior jumped in to assist and finish up the replacement. Both guys went out of their ways to help me out. I was so very pleased with the customer service. They made my stressful situation much easier. read more

I can change my own oil & filter, belts, bulbs and other simple tasks. Finding what you need at AutoZone is also a task. I would prefer to have someone tell me where an item is rather than spending 5 minutes locating the isle then looking through an auto parts book to find the right part. Customer service is lacking. If I could give this place zero stars, I would. I recently purchased a brand new Subaru Forester and went in to get advice on maintaining the exterior. When I walked in at about 3 p.m. on a Tuesday, the place was largely empty, though there were some customers being assisted at the desks. Upon not receiving any assistance on the sales floor, I got into the line to wait my turn for help (I was the only person in this line when I got in). When I got to the desk after a good 10 minute wait, I asked my question - basically, I needed assistance choosing from all the various products available for maintaining my new car's paint. Apparently this was not an important question to the customer service representative, and she asked if I minded waiting off to the side so they could clear the line (I had just finished standing in) before getting to me. I've gotta say - as someone who works in customer service, I was slightly shocked that was her approach to customer service. By this time, the store was starting to fill up with people. I don't need help picking out oil, an air filter, or a battery because I know which of those I need. What I don't know is the difference between the 20 post-wash products available on your shelf and in the interest of maintaining my $20,000 investment, wanted more information before making my choice. After 15 additional minutes of standing off to the side (I've now been in the store nearly half an hour trying to get some help about car wax), someone finally found time in their busy schedule to come over and help me. I explained my situation - it's a brand new car that was detailed by the dealership before they gave it to me, and I wanted the appropriate product recommendations to ensure it stays looking good for the next 10 years. I live in Texas, the car will be parked outside, and I do offroad and want to do everything I can to protect my paint from that combination of factors. I was sent home with this stuff: http://www.meguiars.com/en/automotive/products/g19216-ultimate-polish/ That product (upon doing my own research this morning) is for the purpose of removing swirl marks, spider webbing, etc. My car is brand new. IT DOESN'T HAVE ANY OF THAT YET. In fact, polish specifically is there to remove the dulled exterior of oxidized paint. They did agree to refund my money, but that doesn't replace the factory wax which has now been completely removed from my car. I contacted their customer service line, which referred me to the regional office. I spent 20 minutes on the phone with the district manager, who basically told me it wasn't reasonable for me to place blame on their recommendation, as it's "just a recommendation". The recommendation was for the OPPOSITE product from what I should have had. I am completely appalled at the customer service I have received, the lack of product training on the part of the staff, and the lack of resolution on the part of the management. read more

I had battery issues and went to this store for help. Juan was awesome, he did a test for me, we determined my battery was bad so I bought one and he took the time to replace it for me. Batteries aren't hard to remove but I can't tell you how much I appreciated his willingness to help. His customer service was amazing. He tested my alternator too and gave tips on what to expect. I had to make him take the $20 tip, but I couldn't walk away and not give him something. I work in a service related industry and I appreciate when someone goes out of their way to help. My dust cover on my car came loose and after going to Jiffy Lube, waiting 20 minutes to only find out that I needed to first purchase the bolts to put the dust cover in place before they could help me, I ended up at Auto Zone to do so. I was there on a Monday at 12:45pm and was assisted by Robert C. Though the store seemed a bit understaffed for the amount of clientele, Robert was more than attentive and gave me incredible customer service, better than I had expected at an auto parts store. He first walked with me out to my car to assess the issue and then came inside to find the appropriate part. I thought I would just purchase the part I needed and go back to Jiffy Lube for them to fix my issue, but I was MORE than surprised to see Robert get down on the pavement and fix the issue HIMSELF! He had to try several size bolts to find the appropriate fit and after working with me for a good 30 minutes in the heat- and answering the phone and tending briefly to other customers in the midst of helping me- he finally found the right part and reaffixed my dust cover. Robert- and the other staff there that day- went above and beyond what I expected walking into an auto parts store. Robert had an incredible loyalty to his customers and felt it was his duty to be sure they walked away satisfied. I would HIGHLY recommend this particular store, if in need of auto parts... or more ;) read more

We are scheduled to leave EARLY tomorrow morning and noticed a headlight burned out. I jumped on YouTube to see if it was easy or horrible. My husband doesn't do car things. I can do basics. Unfortunately, the battery was in the way and I couldn't see what I needed to see. I told my husband to drive to Autozone down the street (he was thinking a repair shop the next morning since it was already 8:00 p.m.). He begrudgingly headed to the parts store where we got the most excellent help from Khan, an employee who went over and beyond expectation. He removed the battery, helped find the right bulb (not the $38 bulb, the $4 bulb). It even rained on us. I normally go to Auto Zone in Pflugerville where I get awesome customer service! But I moved and this one was close by while I was driving home. Basically my high mount brake light was out which I didn't know, I thought it was just my brake light but another customer that saw me trying to figure it out helped me. Buttttt before that I went into the store and told the young man (I don't remember his name) that I think my back brake light is out I wasn't quite sure and he asked what kind of car I had and I told him then he told me that the bulb was in Aisle 2. Like seriously!?!? If I knew what the bulb looked like I would have went and looked for it. I ended up searching for it on my phone and picked up one I thought was right and the manager checked me out so I told her what happened and yea she seemed to not care. Now when I go to the Pflugerville location and tell them what I need they come outside and check my car to see which bulb is out. Then they go in the store look for it on the computer and go and get it for me. I understand that maybe they don't have to do this but it is greatly appreciated! But this location was horrible. I ended up realizing that I might have bought the wrong bulb so I went back instead and the manager had Shane help me and he was AWESOME!!!! However, I will never return to this store and make the trip to Pflugerville instead because it's worth it. read more

There was 5 people in line. One associate talking about his personal life to one customer for about 5 minutes. The one cashier had been helping the same customer since before I got there and I was next in line with 4 people behind me. We all stood there for about 15 minutes none of us were greeted by any of the 6 store associates that passed by us without a concern. It's raining and I'm in a hurry to get to my sister in labor and I just needed windshield wipers. If you're in a hurry go somewhere else. The one star is for making me giggle at how nobody knew what they were doing including the customers. :) read more

The guy named frankie was so helpful my battery was acting up he tested it for me to check and see if i needed a new one sure enough i did. But he wasn't able to replace if for me because my car was complicated and said it would be better to get a shop to take care of it for me. I was very disappointed with my experience today at the W Parmer Ln location #3401. I'll start by saying I buy all my parts at this location unless they don't carry something. I have 3 vehicles and they all have Duralast Gold batteries which I upgrade for the warranty. Today my battery stopped so I took it in to get checked. Indeed it was found to be bad and being it was purchased in 2009 it should be under warranty. The sales person brought to my attention that although he personally puts everyone's phone number in for warranty it's possible a former associate failed to do so. He was not able to find this particular purchase so basically to bad. In the end I was told "there's nothing I can do". There was no leadership in the store for this gentleman to partner with. He did advise I call his GM at a later time. I went ahead and purchased another battery and yes I upgraded to the 8yrs Gold Series again but this time I made absolutely sure he input my number for warranty purposes. Yes I should have saved my receipt for situations like this so I'm to blame as well. I feel there should always be some sort of leadership in house for situations like this. Not all situations are black and white. There needs to be someone to listen to reason and offer solutions instead of letting a customer leave feeling put off. read more

I really like this store. I go here for whatever I need for my vehicles, and the folks who work here are always courteous and very knowledgable. If they don't have it, they can typically order it in the next day or two. They are also quick to point out sale items when I try to purchase something similar for a higher cost. Interestingly, they have been a GOTO source of parts for my 1973 MGB. If they can get parts in for that, anything else is fair game. read more

I have used this car parts store many times. Each time I am promptly served and they always assist me in putting the part on my car. I called today to ask what the return policy was for a car battery. The representative that I spoke to seemed like a condescending male mechanic who assumed that I knew nothing about cars maybe because I'm a female. I was explaining that my car was new and that I am almost certain that it's my battery that died. I explained that it's not brand spanking new, but maybe a couple years old, and I am the only owner so it couldn't have been anything serious (starter, alternator, etc). He interrupted me and said, "wait, you are contradicting yourself. You said your car was new and that it's a couple years old." I then reverted back to my original question on what the return policy is for batteries. He went on to tell me I could've left my lights on and it could've drained my battery. I told him that I realize that's a way some drain their batteries, but my lights turn off automatically when the car is off. He still persisted that it could've been my lights. What does it matter? Just answer my question. Never in my life have I ever been pretentious, but I wanted to tell him that my $50,000+ car has a feature that turns headlights on and off automatically, guy! Try to listen and not assume. As an employee in this line of work, please have the patience to work with people, especially women, as they may have trouble articulating what their mechanical problems may be. read more

They did a great job. I can't remember the guy's name (maybe Chris). He was a master mechanic and helped me replace the pulley on my Isuzu and then get the serpentine belt back on in the parking lot. I went to this autozone yesterday to take advantage of the online printable coupon for a discount on a certain oil. It is time for the oil change on the truck. Along with the oil I intended to get an oil filter and oil pan. We didn't know what kind of filter to get so we waited in line to get an answer. Then went and got the filter ourselves waited in line again to get to pay for the stuff and then when they scanned the coupon it didn't take the money off so they said to hang on. The helped the other people in line and then the manager I think came to try to use the coupon. First they said that it was on special and the coupon wont work for that then they checked and it wasn't on special but it still wouldn't take the money off. He looked at us and basically said the coupon was not legitimate that he had never seen any coupons like this and basically gave us a look like we were trying to steal. It was an autozone coupon. So before I got mad we just left. He was unwilling to even do research into the coupon or anything. I know it is there right to refuse... but the corporate office or whoever puts out that stuff should really inform their employees of the fact. At least update the system to work properly with them. read more

Poor customer service in this store. Returned a defective battery within warranty period and had Adam Jimenez tell us that the battery in which we bought from that very same store was not the battery under warranty due to a sticker that had 2/10 on the side. He then implied that we could have found an old battery anywhere and brought it back. I asked him how could they only go by a simple sticker and not have some type of serial # or anything else to go by. Adam was very rude and proceeded to tell me he knows his job and he does it well. After some more words he decided to call his boss and they agreed to do the exchange but as I kept talking Adam tried to threaten me if I wanted to do his job or not! Wow!! We ended up having to pick the battery up from another store on 51st and Capital Plaza and the people there were awesome. Molly Buchanan was very nice and helpful. She even explained to me that there was a way to identify the battery. Wow Adam, you got shown by a woman that you don't indeed know how to do your job as well as you thought!!!!!! read more

My girlfriend and I came in to get a bulb replaced on her head light. The service started out pretty standard, what's the problem, look up a part. The bulb that we originally thought we wanted was out of stock. The sales associate went to the back to look to see if it was in stock. He then came back with another sales associate named Jorge. Jorge helped us home in on the bulb that we needed, and asking qualify questions such as the type of driving we would be doing. We were still unsure what bulb we needed, so he offered to go and check out the car to see what bulb we had. He then offer to change the bulbs for us! Not only did he change them, he also explained the different things about the bulb such as why we need to grease it, how to tell the age of the bulb, and how to install it properly. He was very nice and patient and made the whole experience very enjoyable. I don't usually expect a trip to Autozone to be pleasurable. I will from now on. read more

I am very unhappy with the service and treatment my husband endured at two of there stores today. After being told to remove a truck alternator to have it tested, he was ignored for 20 minutes until finally the associate assisted him, sort of. He was told that store didn't have the part necessary, even though they TOLD him to come back in.Instead he then suggested he BUY the replacement part anyway even though ours hadn't been checked, put it in the vehicle, and bring it back if it doesn't work. Are you kidding me? After 3 other stores were called to find one part(this is an auto part store right?) He was directed to Another store across town. There the associate finally helped him after being blatantly ignored and un-helped for 20 minutes AGAIN. He couldn't operate the proper tool/task and only answered "well, i dunno..." until finally the manager came over to assist. What kind of business operates this way? Your facility was rude, disrespectful, lied to my husband, and tried to scam him into buying something. Over a $200 part? Get it together AutoZone. read more
