Truck still ran poor, brought it back so they could see if the coil or spark plus were firing correctly. They were he replaced the other 7 coils, and recharged the air conditioner which was not mentioned, when I complained he removed the charge. My wife noticed a handwritten charge on both receipts, finally figured out it said card run fee, because I used my charge card, both times the fix cost over $1200 each, then the charges for fees on credit card was $97.41 no where did it state I would be charged a fee for using a credit card, our friend who works for mac recommended him, I would not. They work on cars and fix things and charge huge prices, when I called two other mechanics I have used before, I was told the total cost for the coils and labor would be $899 minus 20% for aaa discount. Make sure IF you ever use these people you tell them not to do any of the work until you hear from them on the amount before the work is started.I'll be calling my back once this clears through and file a dispute on charges not authorized.

I'd have found it eventually after everything else I did didn't fix it). My suburban stopped running down in Utah one hot summer and had to get towed to a shop 80 miles further down the road (that night's destination, actually, lucky me..) - called Corey for a first 'second opinion' and after symptom discussion he suggested over the phone an overheated original fuel pump - never woulda thunk it, bad gas?, fuel filter?, computer?, yea.. fuel pump? Nah.. - the Utah shop replaced the fuel pump and confirmed it. I learn something new every day no matter how hard I try. My advice is that when you find a good mechanic with integrity at a reasonable price, stick with him. He's more than a mechanic, he's a trusted friend now. Even though it's not to my benefit to recommend him (hard enough getting an appointment because he's pretty busy as it is), I selfishly want him to stay in business, so yea, I highly recommend ProCar. (BTW, that 1-star rating back in 2018 was a vehicle with all the emissions stuff removed. State law at the time would not grant a waiver in that situation - the emissions equipment at least had to be present. Everyone involved came away with a 'bad attitude' about it).

Eduard from Detailnerdz and a coworker came over around 10:30. The two guys stayed until until about 2:30 wiping, washing, steaming, and vacuuming. Including exterior wash, plus a tip for coming on Saturday and at short notice, and our stinky, dirty, furry car was completely clean for $280. This matched most quotes, once I mentioned dog fur. I have not yet received a tow on the car in question, I am currently in the process of pre-planning for "worst case scenario" when we go to move our broke down POS car to our new apartment (just in case we can't get it started, it is a BMW after all...) Today, I made four phone calls to get quotes for towing it - three other local tow companies and these guys, Payton Towing. Out of respect for Payton, I will not be providing any details on my experience with the other three tow companies. I did want to put in a review for Payton, however, to let people know of my "less than ideal" experience trying to contact them today. The issue is that when I called during normal business hours for a quote, they did not pick up my call. I left a message, expecting a call back within 20 minutes or so. No call back, and more than an hour has passed. Again, this review is based entirely on the lack of a call back. If anyone does manage to get ahold of these guys, perhaps they can leave a better review letting others know of their actual service and prices, but I would say that I won't be calling them when (or if) I do need a tow, since I cannot rely on prompt service from this company based on my experience today. I'm guessing the shop was recently sold or they pay people to publish reviews for them, because I had an absolute trainwreck of an experience with this place. I'm not being hyperbolic when I say this is one of the worst experiences I've ever had with a business. - They do not work with insurance, even if they claim to. - Took five weeks when they quoted me one. - Didn't call me ONCE in five weeks to update me about anything. - Stonewalled the insurance and didn't call them back. My car was vandalized the first week of May when someone drilled a hole into my gas tank, so I called around to five local shops for estimates. Scott Sherman was the cheapest, by about $200. So after I confirmed with Michael that they worked with insurance directly, and specifically State Farm, I arranged for a tow. I gave them the number for the insurance claims department and they quoted me one week to turn the car around. I let them know I needed to have it back before the end of May. I call in after a week and ask if the car is ready. They said they couldn't get ahold of my insurance after trying repeatedly so they'd call again. Naturally, didn't call to let me know. A few days go by and the insurance still hasn't heard from them, so I gave State Farm the shop's number to call directly. My insurance agent tells me that the shop won't call them back and only seems to pick up when they call from a different number. When I called, Michael said "oh you want to talk to the other guy but he's in the bathroom right now." Strange - he seems to have been in the bathroom every time I call. Two more weeks go by, and dozens of calls later, Scott Sherman hasn't even started working on the car nor have they filed any estimates with State Farm. At two points, the claims department called the shop to walk them through the B2B submission process. My agent confirmed that they didn't submit anything, despite telling the claims team they did. It's the end of May and Scott Sherman won't return my calls, work with the insurance, and still hasn't replaced my gas tank. At this stage, I'm worried they don't even have my car, so I stop by after work to ensure my car is really there. I go in to light a fire under them and they tell me their computer hasn't been working but they can get me the quote the insurance has been asking for. Interesting that they knew exactly what I would ask about before I even had the chance. Thankfully, my car is still there, but excuse after excuse and they say the car will be done by end of the week. We're well into June at this point, and I'm starting to look up legal options to prepare myself. My agent calls me and says they can either tow the car to another location (at my expense) or just pay up front and hope that insurance will pay based on the shop's estimate. They finally finished the car the second week in June and the insurance fully reimbursed me, not even three days after getting my car back. I understand being a mechanic near a big city must mean you deal with some difficult people but that's no excuse for the way these guys conducted themselves. Do NOT be tricked by their website, the reviews, or the prices they quote if you're looking to have your car repaired quickly and especially if you're hoping to involve insurance. TERRIBLE.
