Autosmith Car Company agreed to sell me a Sequoia that passed inspection on 8/30/17. They passed it, but it should not have gotten a sticker.
Within the first week of owning the Sequoia, I brought it back for problems twice (though they were never actually repaired, I was told they were). The third time was a major safety issue. I could have died bringing it to them. Scared, only 9 days after purchase, I wanted my money back, but they refused.
Seeing a pattern, I paid to have the Sequoia towed to a reputable garage, where they showed me damage to the rear end that should have caused it to fail inspection. The mechanic said "It's not even borderline. That's a clear fail."
I sent Autosmith photos of the problem, and a pre-inspection failure report. I reminded them our contract was for a vehicle that passed inspection, and told them again that I want my money back. They said they "don't do refunds". Boy, oh boy, they are sticking to that line better than they stand behind their vehicles.
They will say nothing about the problem, except that if I bring it in, they will "help". I can't drive a vehicle that is not road-safe, or road-legal to their lot! I invited them to come to my home to look at it, despite the photos and report I sent them (they were under the rig three times in the 9 days after I agreed to buy it - if they didn't care about the problem then, why would they care now? In my experience, their repairs aren't really repairs anyway.) Autosmith declines my offer to come have a look, though I'm very nearby, and the damage is not in an area that is hard to get at.
I don't want "help". I want my money back. Our contract was for a vehicle that PASSED NH STATE INSPECTION. This vehicle wouldn't have passed the day I purchased it. I upheld my end of the contract, but Autosmith didn't uphold theirs. Only had the thing 9 days, with nothing but problems, an inspection sticker that should lose them their license, and they won't agree to put us both back at EVEN.
Read the other reviews. Lots of similar stories about repairs that didn't actually fix the problems, etc. Mine is not an isolated "bad luck" experience. This place doesn't even care about the safety of their customers. I have seen NO reason to believe there is any integrity at Autosmith Car Company. read more
