Not an honest company! I was going to buy a car there (the new one in northwood)... went on Friday to check it out and would have bought it then but for some reason they couldn't take a look at my vehicle for a trade in value until Monday. Told me the car would be on hold and they'd be in touch Monday. They sold the car Saturday. I guess it was just easier for them? Not a good way to come into town and treat a local. I drove over four hours to here to get a car and it was well worth the trip. The cars are priced to sell and competitively. I purchased a truck from Autosmith in August of 2015. I'm not one for writing reviews and I'm a little late getting to this but, here goes. The salesman experience was average at best (not a bad thing) and negotiations were reasonable. Financing was quick and provided options. Pickup day was a little slow on the vehicle end as it was not quite ready when we were. Detailing was questionable at best but, all parties were pleasant and hospitable. I mentioned these issues first because first impressions are lingering impressions. Now let's talk about the real company, not the first impression. There was a problem with the truck on the drive home, I called and they had me come back. The mechanic was waiting for me on arrival and quickly agreed to the issue and I was given a loaner car while they addressed the issue. Problem 2, same issue. The rear axle was eating axle seals. They called me prior to the agreed upon pickup time to say that they were not satisfied with the results of the repair and we're going to replace the entire axle. They had the truck ready when they said it would be and all was good. The communication, dedication, and professional attitudes of the office staff, mechanic, and owner were above and beyond. I give 5 stars because I have never been to a dealer that didn't give it their all to sell a vehicle, but there are few who give it their all to keep you happy after the sale. I was told I was approved to finance a 2011 Acura RDX then I was strung along by this company for five days sent them everything they asked for for proof was told that I could pick up the vehicle today Tuesday, March 30 and all of a sudden the bank doesn't want to approve me for the loan even though I was told by Alicia that I was already approved and I even got a congratulations message on Facebook from the owner of the company! I lost out on three days of work dealing with this place that's three days of pay that I lost out on I even paid a $500 deposit that I have to wait a week for to go back into my account so now I can't even go out and get a vehicle somewhere else! read more

They lied about the state of the vehicle, they passed a vehicle for inspection that was 3000.00 away from passing an inspection. They would not work with us on any resoluion. I would like to start off bye saying this will be a very comprehensive review.. So first things first, I found a vehicle online it was a 2003 s10 price was not on there so i text the number and they responded with a very high price of 7995 ( truck at time was blue booked for around 7000). I told them that was more than i wanted to spend and i was looking at around 6000, They came back with a price of 6325 i agreed and came down to look at the car. All this time i was talking to a very friendly guy named Mike. I looked at the outside of the vehicle and it looked good the salesman (mike) told me it was great just looked over and would come with a brand new sticker as well as be undercoated ( they never undercoated it). So i bought the vehicle and brought it home. Realized the moment i got home that there was a problem. Th tire was no good it had steel belt showing threw and was about ready to pop. I brought it to a shop and they told me that there was a brake line about ready to explode as well as the FRAME is no good ( The frame you know what makes the whole vehicle). I called and talked with the owner and he told me to kick rocks. ( i could not believe the owner would sell such an unsafe vehicle and put the lives of me and my family in jeopardy). I then talked with mike and he agreed to get the owner to fix it. So i brought it down to be fixed and they they put bondo and a piece fop metal up there as a "fix" needless to say it is not proper and when i called them out on it they decided that it wasn't there problem so now i am in court case with them. I bought a car 75 days ago . They put a bad inspection sticker on it . When I went back the guy who put the sticker on happen to be there and he said he doesn't work for them any more due to the owner making him put bad stickers on cars that shouldn't pass. I was given a 20 day red plate and a bill of sale that stated includes inspection. They told me to come back after my battery was put back in my car . I never understood why they took it out 2 times until now .. They wanted to make sure the computer didn't show all the problems with the car. I was promised and told by several people it would pass inspection. Well they it doesn't pass and they had me take it to my mechanic. Guess what ... needs over $3000 yes $3000 worth of work done . JUST TO PASS INSPECTION! They won't call me back they won't call my boy friend back and now I have. No car to drive . There are more things I can add here but the point its they have my money for a carthey owe me a car that passes inspection. They failed to report it to the DMV and by law in my state you have to when a car doesn't pass... They knew this the day I drove off the lot it wouldn't pass.... I'm sooo sad they would screw over a single mom like myself . I can't just go by another car and I can't pay to have this one fixed ... BUYER BEWARE....... They will promos you the world . Our used car purchase was total nightmare from the moment we drove off the lot and the dash lights came on (check engine, etc.), no heat would come into the driving cabin in December, etc. They said to bring it back to them (an hour away) and they would fix it. I did that, and the issues were not fixed. I spent money and spent money with my local mechanics. It wouldn't pass inspection. It would die while you drove it. It was in the shop constantly. After 2 years of a horrible ownership experience, the car now costs way more to repair than it is worth. I asked Autosmith to offer some sort of resolution, and they would not. I'm already more than $10K in the toilet over this awful experience. I would absolutely never use them again nor would I recommend them to anyone. read more

I was searching high and low for a car as Winter was approaching where I reside in Southern Maine and my temporary vehicle was not snow worthy. Car shopping as a single woman one can feel a bit of a target and that was not the case here at all. Mike and Karen put all my apprehensions at ease. I did read previous reviews but took a leap of faith and the long drive because online I had found a car in their lot that I had been hunting high and low for and well frankly there is always two sides to everything. I highly recommend Autosmith for a car purchase. I test drove two cars and ended up with a used Honda CRV and I'm loving it. I did my homework as much a noncar person can so I went in like a loaded gun firing off questions. When I didn't understand the answer Mike the Sales person patiently answered (repeatedly) and explained what was what and why I would benefit or not benefit from certain features or types of vehicles. Karen took me under her wing and walked me through all the financial paperwork, buying a car in one state living in another, title and registration info that I was in the dark about. Before signing the dotted line I did lay out a few minor fixes and things I wanted double checked prior to my pick up of the car. Doing your homework counts. Autosmith agreed to all and as anybody buying something I got it in writing. I picked up the car and only noticed a few days later the windshield wiper fluid container was not working. A quick message to Mike and literally a few hours later I was told "don't worry we got you covered". It was fixed and I have had absolutely no issues since. I wish there was a way to give negative stars. I bought a vehicle from these crooks with a brand new inspection sticker on it. I went to get my oil changed the very next day ( apparently they don't do that before you buy a car) and was told I needed 5000 dollars worth of work. I was shocked and thought they were trying to sell me something do I went to another place and they said the same thing. Autosmith sold a car with a Nh safety inspection and offered us a 90 day third party warranty for 275 bucks..The owner wanted 50 bucks more for his warranty than his secretary who did the paperwork..229. We declined falling for the "we stand behind our product" speech. Shame on me for trusting the speech and shame on me for shopping at Autosmith Car Company. My car now does not run and was said to need over 1200 for a sticker. I saw a few people went to court and I was thinking about it but I guess its a learned lesson about what buy from. read more

I had an EXCELLENT experience with Auto Smith. Helped my daughter purchase her first car. Totally expected to have to co-sign. Dan took great care of her and got her a loan without a co-signer which is pretty impressive considering she is self employed and has just recently started her own business. He got her a hitch and took care of the windshield the following week when she found two small cracks. I would consider that a great car buying experience. read more

I purchased a vehicle from Autosmith on the 20th during the day. When I got home later around around twilight and showed it to my wife, she immediately noticed the taillight was out. The following day I went to Autozone to grab a bulb (figured it was a cheap fix and no biggie) when they told me the taillight is an LED strip and the entire fixture would need to be replaced. Turns out this a $125 item from BMW. I dismantled the light and immediately realized how corroded and nasty it was inside (if anyone wants to see - reply to my review and I'll attach some photos). There was no way this light would've passed inspection and Autosmith threw a sticker on the vehicle anyways. I immediately emailed them the following day and sent pictures of the corrosion proving that there was no way this light was working 24 hours earlier when they 'inspected' the car. They finally replied to me 10 days later and said that the car was sold as-is. I asked them if they could miss something so simple during an inspection, what other serious items may have been overlooked? I also asked what is more important, cutting me a check to cover the repair, or a bad review? Now looking at previous reviews I can see MULTIPLE people complaining about cars sold with stickers slapped on them. I found an aftermarket light for $75 and did all the labor - this wouldve been a cheap fix for them and I was all set to write a decent review. So - if they choose to fix this, I'll kick this review up to three stars. And in the essence of all fairness, I'll post this to Yelp, Google, Cars.com, Car Gurus, and DealerRater. read more

Watch out consumers!!! Purchased a vehicle and on the drive home we noticed the heat didn't work. Called Autosmith to resolve the issue but the only comment I received back was it was bought as is. While this is true, the vehicle was also sold as state inspected. I pointed out that per the state regulations a vehicle has to have a working defrost capable of melting snow and ice to have a sticker. The salesman Mike told me the heat worked when it left their lot. If this had been an electrical issue i might agree, but as its the heater core and was clogged over time this is not possible. Mike just stated again that the vehicle was sold as is. Even after all of these negative posts you see about them and you still decide to go there, please get your mechanic to look it over. AND that dealership gave me a huge long list of things wrong with that maxima I got from you. Your dealership did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to help me with the issues with that car. I had to pay most of the bill except for the $150 you guys gave me. All of the tows, missing multiple days of work, and repair bills add up.
