Longtime native owner rural garage only game in town. Limited business hours M- F 8-5 closes promptly. Closed weekends and takes long Holiday weekends off, closed 2-3 weeks annual vacations. Lukewarm at best to part -time patrons with dual State residency. Gaslights and ousts them if questioned or challenged. Doesn't like customers still wearing face masks 2023 though many Nurses and medics still do.post-Covid . Will accuse patron of having or appearing to have Covid and "don't come here even outside with Covid" though patron sincerely denies having Covid. Ironically, neither he nor his staff ever wore face masks even during the extended Covid precaution mandates . So getting Covid was never their concern why now 4 years in ? Hence uses gaslighting tactics. read more

Everyone is always a little apprehensive about auto repair shops. when it comes to Mark and Automarx, don't worry about any of that. All we want is honesty and integrity. I f I could give 10 stars I would. We limped into Automarx after hitting a huge pothole on the highway. We were on our way home to Boston from a funeral outside of Pittsburg. A State Trooper recommended Automarx. We really didn't have a choice anyway. Our Mercedes had a special tire and even a Mercedes dealership 30 miles away did not have the right tire in stock. Mark found something that would work 14 mile away. He drove my brother there and back so he could buy the tire and he would mount it. Because of Mark and his crew we were back on the road and made it home. He tried charging us $39 for the tire mount. That's laughable because his service was priceles. My family has been going to Mark forever, going back to when his father ran the shop. I used to take my car to him when I was younger, but have since moved out of PA. While visiting, my check engine light came on. It had been years since I'd been to the shop and Mark didn't know who I was when I called, but he still treated me royally on the phone. That's the kind of businessman/person he is-- he treats perfect strangers like long time customers. Though he was busy, he squeezed me in and got my car finished by the end of the day, even after a delay in getting parts. He made sure it was working before handing it off to me, and even stayed a little past closing so I could pick it up. The price was reasonable- this shop sometimes runs a little higher than competitors, but you also know the work will be done correctly, which you can't say for every mechanic in the area. 10/10 service and quality. I broke down on 84 and was able to get off the Blooming Grove exit. Mark was able to come right over tow my vehicle back to his shop. He diagnosed the problem and had me back on the road as soon as the parts made it to his shop. Great service, extremely professional and courteous. read more

Wrote Yelp review month ago. A longtime customer who works at a popular local gated community concurs with my opinion of Automarx owner. Customer stated : "That's Mark mistreats lots of people." Want to add to my original Yelp review that when he was gaslighting me over the phone and misquoting what I didn't say to his receptionist, he was yelling out :"Are you calling Karen a liar?" I denied but he repeated the dramatic accusation. Accelerated gaslighting adds fuel to bad business acumen. My original Yelp review was when I wanted to resched oil change due to mild side effects Covid vaccine, accused me of saying I had Covid though am Nurse assured him I didn't and reminded him neither he nor staff wear face masks and were historically unconcerned about Covid protocols. But was chastising me 3 years into Covid existence ? The gaslighting was followed by "Don't want your business anymore go elsewhere you're done good luck." Made no referrals though car came in contact with deer splatter via Mack Truck, he left me an orphaned customer. read more

This operation is exactly why we all don't like and distrust auto mechanics. they will find things that are not wrong with your car and insist that they are and then repair them for a hefty cost. I don't really care where you go, but this is not the place if you want to spend money for nothing. he caters to the Hemlock Farms rich crowd where he's able to apply his dubious ways. I broke down in my Caddy near Mark's shop almost two hours from home. Mark and his crew began working on it immediately. Due to a frozen bolt the job wasn't easy. They worked two hours after closing to get me home. To say I appreciated their dedication is an understatement. The price was great. They treated me like family.. They are easy to work with when scheduling appointments, they have always been ready to work on my vehicles when I arrived at my appointment time, and they have done all requested work quickly and at fair prices. December at the end of a snow storm and we lose a tire! Being a "run flat" set up, there is no spare (and most run flat tires have been discontinued). By sheer luck, "Mark" of Automarx is at the gas station to which we limped. Being a Sunday, we took what we could get as long as it gets us home. Surprise! Mark is not interested in ripping us off and is very careful about getting best value for us: he dropped his Sunday afternoon plans and replaced just the one tire, which will do until the new year and various tire stores nearer home open. I like this guy! He makes me wish I lived in Pennsylvania. If you're in the area and need auto work or tires, you could do a lot worse than look him up. I have to drive this route now and then and may become a "regular." read more
